    hey what i meant was that the drum can be tightened and i do feel that the drum has more bite than the disc.. but the disc outperforms the drum at higher speeds by a mile. But i didnt find it very impressive at lower speeds ~= 30-40 .. having said that.. since the majority of breaking is from the front (an expert can shed more light on this).. and RTRs are not driven at 30-40 :P .. should not be an issue.. and tvs has done a good job of making the tyre not skid when you use the rear disc

      Of course the rear disc will have a lesser bite when compared to the front disc.That is by design. Otherwise you would be locking up the rear wheel ever other second.
      Plus with a disk break you dont need to worry about liners wearing off after extensive usage and the brake feel is much progressive and assuring.

        The Rear Disc Part............

        the rear disc of the RTR may be lacking the out and out bite of the drum....(as our foot pressure works thr....drum), as the terror said but in long term the disc is what shines....

        try riding in series of turns with 60-70 kmph repeated braking and at the end of ur ride u'll be worshipping the disc with absolutely no brake fade as compared to the drum....

        plus you're free from adjusting the play every now and then and the moment the pillion sits ur play gets changes as the linkage gets tensed by the work of swingarm and the rear brake gets applied without u being even touching the pedal with a pillon....

        the DISC is the one to go for........

          I second that! The disc is really good, but the squeaks (due to dust/dirt) that accompany it every other ride does get a bit annoying!

            guyz.my new rtr isnt registered yet.
            just wanted to ask ki..can i take it to 4k rpm? or should i just stick to 3k untill the first service?

              go ahead man take it to 4000RPM but dont exceed it till 1000kms.....

              to get rid of the sounds wipe the disc with wet cloth evry alternate day.......works wonders!!!!!!!!

                  Upto 4K its absolutely fine bhai... but try not to exceed ~50-55 kmph. And make sure YOU take the bike for registration... because my FI was taken for registration by a mechanic who works in the showroom and he had ridden it at 75 kmph (logged hi-speed which he didn't even care to erase) So take care about that.

                      did anyone feel a drop in pickup after the 2nd service for FI? i got back my bike after 2nd service today and I feel like its struggling a bit.

                          still they're not in league with the zappers but they're ok if you're a city rider and not into scrappin pegs and puutin ur knee down at every turn!!!!!

                            I love the pull of the bike from 3k onwards till like 4500 or so (can't exceed that cause of run in) the most irritating part bout the run in is that you have to shift gears just as you feel the bike getting into its power zone! Damn! Done 975 kms now... can't wait!
