one question from my side.
suppose when i ride @ 60-70 kmph for 4-5kms....and when i stop at signal or wherever the engine makes noise as i have ripped the bike....chhing ching kinda noise.is that tappet?
and then when i park my bike for an hour or so..the sound goes away.whats the problem?
is it normal.?

Yeah they are the tappets&tend to make more noise when heated up. Setting it is a simple thing&takes hardly 15min.for the mech.to do it. Get it done at the next service. This valve loosening will eventually lead to drop in mileage too.Quench my thirst with gasoline!Comment

its partially correct wherein it used to bringdown emission norms, but a part of exhaust gases from the exhaust port is again fed in to the combustion chamber..Comment

tappet clearances are 0.09 and 0.11 mm. get it done in front of you.There's lot to it other than saddle....

Finally, I plonked in the R15's 14T front on the RTR. The difference is just phenomenal. I redlined the bike in the first 3 gears and this is what I achieved(All gearshifts were done exactly at 10.5K rpm):
1st gear - 50kmph
2nd gear - 76 kmph
3rd gear - 101 kmph
4th gear - went till 9K rpm and IIRC sppedo was showing some 112 kmph.
Ran out of road after that. The bike now feels much docile. Vibes have reduced, A LOT!!!!
Last I remember, the bike was doing 75kmph in 5th gear at 5K rpm!!! But the bike kinda feels like it needs a down-shift to overtake if ur in top gear. It is now possible to hold on to the revs much longer in all gears!!! I for one like it as its any-day better than the R15 and is also much more comfortable! The low-end is nthing to talk about. But the mid-range and top-end are just thumping!!! the power rush is from 5K and pulls strongly till a good 10K.
Who said the RTR is not good for cruising?
