i wanted it to be changed at 5000 but the guy refuced it to do so despite me yelling at him,he said that will void the warranty(bullshit)....

    my ques's:
    1. is the carbed having the filter?

and secondly if i'm gonna get rid of the small powerbox and replace it with slightly bigger one (from the KB100) will it give a better throttle response(read more crisp) cuz for that i need a carb to play with the mixture and this FI is tiein my hands.

Dude! all petrol/diesel vehicles have filter. but in case of Fi, there is no sump, working as buffer. But in carburetor, there is sump below it. Thus, filter does not need replacement so soon.

FYI: for carbed bikes, the filter is below fuel cock.

What do you mean exactly by Powerbox?
There's lot to it other than saddle....

the outlet pipe which goes from the air filter (air box) to the carb or the injection has this little box (black coloured kinda little, easily visible once you'll remove the air filter side panel), known to improve throttle responce at the sudden throttle openings (by simply provinding more air to the mixture which is trapped or stored inside it)

by increasing it's capasity along with the proper mixure settings, one can improve the throttle response to large extent...
with carb it's real easy to set the settings (try it in ur RTR) but mine is FI, so i think installing a large one from KB100 may or may not improve it...

Isnt that the SAI (Secondary Air Injection) device, used for pollution control?

Thats accumulator. Go on! do it. it doesn't matter whether you have carb or fi. If you want to check, just remove it and take a ride. Its not advisable for longer use. But remember, by doing it, you will be running lean in case of Fi, as the air flow sensor is on air box.

            • Hi Rocker,

I do belong to Faridabad. Is there any bike club in Faridabad ? Who else are the xbhpians from Faridabad.

Now I have a yellow RTR Carb. Bike itself is great, a little vibration but who cares. I have done nearly 2.8k on ODO in 40 days of ownership with two services.

I am facing two issues though, first my disc got lot of lines on it and the second is that I am getting a sound from headlight portion even passing on a small bump. If any friend have any remedy for these illnesses, tell me too.

I also thought it was the SAI, but somebody here (Renny was that you) told me there is no SAI Unit in RTR Fi.

Actually it depends if he is opting for extended warranty cover

                        • guys how long does the rear disc brake plate last?
my friend's rtrfi has done 10,600 kms and the rear disc and the pads needs replacement!! and this is the 2nd disc pad he is changing!
and the SVC center guy told that the disc plate is not covered under warranty after 8000kms .
is it or is not? i called the area office and he said that disc lasts only for 8000kms?

                          • ^^^ The disc - in most regular use cases lasts almost as long as the bike. But if we use with worn out pads it won't even last 1000 KMs

discs & disc pads are considered consumables. Discs get worn out if the user uses the brakes after the pads wear out. That can never come under warranty.

rear disc pads would last about 15K KMs easily if used as supposed to be used. If only the rear brake is used on a powerful bike then I have even seen cases that needed pads replacement before 2.5K KMs.

So, it is time your friend learns to ride the bike like an RTR and not like a Chetak.
