Reinstall that on your bike dude. It saved my tank and plastic panels (they cost around 5000 bucks together). Even headlamp fairing got only little damage because of it.

i know it's a saver for tank, but the bike sports a very clean look without it....

yesterday while going back to home, i found gears slightly tight. They were not so smooth comparatively. Today also i experienced the same thing. Should i get it checked?
Also< there is some CHI_CHI sound while applying rear disk brakes. what should I do?

Oil change details

Guys post the log of the oil changes you have done in your RTR/RTR FI along with the kms, oil type and make.

MINE:

1- at 430 kms (CASTROL POWER 1 )
2- at 1065 kms (CASTROL POWER 1 )
3- at 2960 kms (CASTROL POWER 1 )
4- at 5018 kms (CASTROL POWER 1 )
5- at 7080 kms (YAMALUBE MINERAL )

One Year Ownership Report RTR FI

Hi Guys, It has been an year completed for my bike by yesterday. I like to share you my experience. Only by the year 2008 November I started to learn riding the bike. Started with Kawasaki Caliber,Splendor + and Passion plus, After 2 months I thought of buying of a bike. I was a pulsar fan from the day it launched, thought of buying pulsar 150. But my friend insisted test drive FZ-16 and RTR. I went to test drive the FZ-16 with the little knowledge about riding. I was ok but not pleased. During the weekend went to test drive the RTR FI. Man it was like riding the beast after riding some 100cc's. I felt much comfortable than FZ-16 ( I'm 6 feet exact), Also loved the exhaust beat. On Jan 14 2009 I booked the vehicle at Ramkay TVS, Adayar Chennai.

They said it will take another 25 days to get the bike delivered. Every day passed like a year. Used to call the sales guy daily and check about the delivery. On Feb 9th I received a call saying that the bike as arrived but it was not yet registered. They said to take care of the vehicle since it was not registered you cannot claim the insurance if theft. I could not wait for another 4 days to get registered, So I said I will take the bike home today itself , I will bring the bike on the day of registration.

It was a day Which I could not forget. Since Im a newbie to biking , I did not have much confidence in myself to ride the beast in traffic, So I called my friend and my uncle. Both of them brought their bike. My uncle was driving before me and my friend was driving behind me. He did not allow any vehicle near me. I'm taking this as a opportunity to thank my friend and my uncle for guiding me 18 kms approximately from service center to mu home.

Once my bike got registered I was driving only in the night and early morning . After that I thought I should be knowing something about bikes. At that time I saw the first ride report of RTR FI on XBHP site. I was following for almost a month before getting registered in XBHP. It was the place where I realized " What is biking " and saw passionate bikers who actually loved their bikes, Kudos guys. After that I started investing in riding gears.

First 750 kms went very fast, Gave the bike to the first service. Endless problem's started to creeping in . After the first service 1) Bike used to switch off after riding some 30 mins. 2) Throttle response was not good as new, Used to be like a pump without air, No response for some 3 secs. 3) Misfiring 4) Black Smoke . After buying a bike with a hard earned money ,Within a month it shows up these many problems.. For some days I was depressed by the bike. So thought I need to inform the service people about these issue. So took the bike to the service centre next morning. They said the piston had some scratches thats why the black smoke and misfiring is coming. They replaced it under warranty and they said others are small issue which they fixed. At that time I realized "No machine is 100% defect free, So if there is an issue there will be a way to fix it.

During second and 3rd service only minor problems they fixed it during service. After the 4th service my speedometer got broken , they changed it under warranty ( ODO reading :7158 km ) , For the last 2 service one guy called Srini in the service center used to service my bike. He is also a passionate biker, he understand's the problem and has very good knowledge about FI bikes also. He did a very good job during 3rd and 4th free service. He has become a very good friend.

After one year

Kms covered : 7158 + 1584 km = 8742 kms
Engine Oil used :
First 2 free service : TVS Tru4 ( Average)
Around 5000km : Castrol Active 4t ( Was very good)
Around 6000km : Castrol Power 1 ( Had a bad experience)
Around 6300 km : Gulf Pride 4t ( Very good oil)
Around 7500 Km : Castrol Power 1 ( To check again, same bad experience)
Around 7800 Km : Gulf Pride 4t (Still going).

Will be changing the oil before going to service in a day or two.

No modifications has been done till now. Still running in stock parts. Had some scary moments with TVS Tyres.

Overall a better product.This is the bike who needs adrenaline rush.

Am back to my RTR from now! Took it for a spin and i noticed the oil leakage has incresed even more. Checked the oil level and it was correct, So i stopped bothering abt the leak. I can give the bike for a complete service only at this month end.

Got the rear tyre realigned today and replaced the Throttle grip tp a new one as the old one was hard. Costed me 66rs! My babe completed 43k kms today!


Trust me, its a pure bliss riding RTR

• In case of FI, check date of ECU and silver injector.

I finally checked my bikes average last week , it did 215 kms in 4 litres

even after riding her in highways ar over 80kmph and in heavy stop and go traffic . so thats great.

yes i too feel the crash gaurd is an imp part of an bike.. i had parked by in spencer plaza and one @## pushed my bike down while taking his out bike. My bike escaped with just scratches on the crash gaurd

Guys, Today my bike first tasted the Synthetic Oil. Bought Motul 300V Factory Line 5W40 at 700 Rs( 725 was printed).
