  • guys i aint no rtr owner.
i just wanted to know if the vibrations that shows up after hitting a speed of 55 and above, is it more than RX vibrations or lesser?
reason i am asking is am planning to get a second hand rtr soon as a alternate commute.

as i have seen i can expect a mileage around 45-50 with sane riding

Rotating just ensures that the same plug is not under constent pressure that's it...
other wise there are plug out there with 25000kms in their log with no rotation and still sparking, though not with the original kick but doin their business of burning the mixture..

Sir i get 45-50 under all kinds of riding, and this is the constent i'm getting...but if i ride it under 4000RPM it gives me 62-65kmpl.

RX vibrates at the handlebar that can be lessened with the use of bar ends weight, but still it can dethrone the RTR in the vibes department

Hi,I used to get 45-48 in normal city condition.

Guys,For RTR FI, The engine oil rating is not mentioned in manual . They have given TVS Tru4 or any 4T oils can be used . I recently switched to Motul 300v 5W40, I did not see any difference, It was same like GULF till now. Completed 370kms in Motul. Or should I have bought Motul 300v XW50???. I should have raised to engine oil thread, but I want to get from RTR owners.

        Thanks In Advance..

        • Thanks for the replies people.... The mileage is in the 40+ ballpark. So its got to do more with the riding style and environment after that.

@krishnan6015: Dont use xW50 on RTR. It totally kills the engine. Use only xW40 . I always use the MOTUL 5W40 300V or Petronas Sprinta on my RTR Fi. Engine is just lovely. The xW50 kills the performance. Bike feels harsh, wont rev and its just too bad.

So you say RX vibes are more than RTR overall. I being a RX guy all this while would like to know the vibes issue and what exactly is the vibes apache owner complains about.
so where exactly are these vibes in RTR coming from?

Vibration is RTR is limited to certain power band. Around 4k -4.k rpm it vibrates. But once you cross it, its a pure pleasure to ride. RTR owners mostly ignore the vibrations as they get the power with handling which is not available in most of the bikes.

                        NO.

The bike is silky smooth till 5000RPM, after which the vibes gives you a alarm to prepare for the worse to come, after 200RPM that is 5200 it gets so much pronounced till 6400 that you feel like selling the bike.

The bike gets silky smooth after 6500 again but this is for the rider, the hell party starts for the pillion after 7000, and that too so much that he'll refuse to keep his/her() feet on the rear pegs..

The smoothness (for the rider) is retained till 8500 then after that the vibes creeps in again and after 9000 to 10000 it gets so severe that forces you to change the gear, though it happens only till fourth and once the fifth is cogged and in the top speed run the bike remains smooth comparitively (as on 4 gear).

Hello, but why only in RTR we get such vibies ..? i mean there r muche lesser vibies in pulsar's ? But any ways it's n advantage for me as ppl refuse to sit as pillion so i always Enjoy pillion FREE Ride when ever am riding with my Friends..
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

Actually, I never felt vibrations that much nor got complain from any of the pillon's. I can feel only at 60km/hr -65km/hr while riding.I will try to pass that band as soon as possible. Maybe the vibrations can be that much in RTR, but not surely in FI. Yes the engine is not refined as pulsar or FZ.
