200 kms with the PETRONAS.
After having done 200kms with this synth, nothing new felt accept that the bike seems to be revving more freely, (may be cuz of the less viscousity the oil has), the vibes are the same, the shifts are butter smooth when done with the "blipping" effect, the roughness of the engine is as same as before. The Magician"

The bike's running fine after change of spark plug. earlier the bike was stalling in traffic and not starting up easily. nw there is no such issue.the bke starts in 1 crank and does not get switched offOriginally posted by Navin Apachean View PostThanks much buddy... Thanks chatterbox... Much relaxed now
I will point this in the service this time.
And one more thing is the thong sound wen the front wheel bumps out of a pothole, the suspension is actually as good as it was wen i bought it (atleast the diff is not noticeable
). Is that from the head lamp assembly or the suspension itself and is that to be taken care off?? any recommendations??

The thing SATISH told, i never knew about that, but then you'll have to find a key maker who will then be making the key for you, the original will take time but it'll be more good and specifically made.Originally posted by haxor View Post@renny and Satish
Thanks but what I will say to them?Give me dummy keys?
Seriously!
Tell them that you lost your keys, your bike is lying around unused and you need a new set ASAP....

Enigine overheated and stalled repeated times.
About an hour ago i was stuck at the traffic, which was so bad that it took me 20 mins to crawl 2 kms, we were double on the bike, after my stint with the traffic the engine became overheated and the bike started to stall the moment i was closing the throttle (total of 7 times it happened).
So dealing with it, we reached our destination, and when we came back after doing our work the engine in that time cooled off a little (30 mins) and the bike started to behave normally.
This is the first i experienced.Last edited by rennycornelius; 03-15-2010, 02:46 PM.The Magician"

I have tried it. It will be good in first 2 gears, but the bike will go down immediately after 3rd gear. Pickup in 4th and 5th were bad. Bike was without vibes and was very smooth. The bike struggles to go beyond 110. If u want to reduce gearing, best option will be the Old Apache 43T rear. Anything lesser than that will kill the fun out of the RTR!!!Originally posted by kauria View PostAny one here tried 14T front sporket in RTR 160, or can you guys recommend any better gearing for my 160, as I want a smoother crushing speed of 100 kmph in between 5500-6000 rpm, without providing any stress to the engine.Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Just ask them for a blank key!Originally posted by haxor View Post@renny and Satish

You can do this as well, but am not sure whether TVS has this otpion!Originally posted by rennycornelius View PostTell them that you lost your keys, your bike is lying around unused and you need a new set ASAP....

This happened to my bike onces, My friend had to take my bike to his collage (30kms from his place) and i was at office and i had to be at his place asap! Ripped from my office with rpm hover above 7 all the time, His house is 8 kms from my office. He ripped the bike all the way to his collage. Bike stalled just a km before his collage and did'nt start. Parked it beside a hotel and went to his collage. He came back during lunch and started it, it was normal. Wonder what happened. this never repeated again though!Originally posted by rennycornelius View PostAbout an hour ago i was stuck at the traffic, which was so bad that it took me 20 mins to crawl 2 kms, we were double on the bike, after my stint with the traffic the engine became overheated and the bike started to stall the moment i was closing the throttle (total of 7 times it happened).

I second this. Sometime i regret going for a bigger tyre to make the gear taller. I miss the fun in the bike now!Originally posted by Aparajith View PostI have tried it. hey Indianz_alive - what all is done at the decarbonization . are you on stock tires or have you changed them to something ?
@renny - im also on Petronas , in my case i felt vibes also reduced a bit but that could be due to other factors . gears definetly become soft and more precise , especially on downshifting .for 300rs i feel oil is good . will be going for motul 5100 next . anyone here tried it ?Last edited by Puneet1; 03-15-2010, 07:34 PM.
