It's high time Yamaha learn a bit from these guys!

Well, I am yet to see a bike manufacturer as generous as TVS when it comes to warranty.

Have changed my Victor's Silencer(Under warranty)
Fuel Tank(Outside Warranty, a dealer gesture ).And btw, The victor still runs on stock front and rear shock absorbers even after 8 years of ab'use'!!

      -RTR's speedo Assembly replaced,
-Rear Tail lamp Assembly replaced even with all it's lights were perfectly alright. Some cross-connection was happening as the lamp was glowing faintly even when switched off(the switch, i mean).

And we should not forget satish's warranty claims, ever!!

            • ^^^ forget Satish's case but replacement of faulty parts under warranty is the minimum the companies should do to us for sparing our hard earned money and trusting them for our daily commute or week-end joy. But, when it is about warranty claims, unless the company is very strict about serving the customers well, most of the decisions are with the authorised service centre. For them, changing something under warranty and claiming it back from company is a long process that even makes them loose interest on the money they spend to stock those spares.

It is all about focus on customer service... and unfortunately in this service industry most people want to do "Kirana" shop kind of business.

For one, Yamaha - front cone set was replaced under warranty as it started making noise at about 7K KMs - which was not acceptable for an R15. Radiator was replaced because of a tiny leak. Pass switch was not working. When opened, it was the wire that lost soldering. But they replaced the whole unit. Clutch cable was replaced at 6K KMs when it became very hard - this was just a gesture from them. But then, my new cable is still fine at 22.5K KMs. And, all this at just the mention of an issue.

It is about the dealership more and company less.

                That's quite true.
The TVS Engineer who used to attend my bike (now changed company) would replace faulty part which, service centre people would hesitate to sometimes even check. Even I listened them requesting the Engineer to clear the bills of those parts by the same day.
Seldomly the manager or staff would initiate such warranty replacment things.

Got the tube checked by a road side puncture wala. He did his water test and told me that the tube is fine.No air leaks.

The puncture wala indicated that the tube might be losing air due to the heat. is it possible?
my driving is mostly city driving 35km/day and do touch 100kmph daily.

anybody else facing this problem? is this a tube problem?
I've had a similar issue once before after i had a puncture and bought a local tube from the repair dude. The prob with these cheap (not all that much) tubes, is that they slowly leak air. So stick to a branded tube. Also check the tyre carefull for embedded objects. Sometime you have a small object stuck in the main body of the tyre which isn't really clearly visible from either the outside or the inside. It's only when the bike is loaded that the tyre compresses and this object can slowly hurt the tube. And if it's a very small leak it may not show in the water test.

Well, your previous contacts with the higher-ups may have established a reputation with Ramkay. So they give you better service without having to contact the officials. I'm saying this because after i escalated my issues, they used to not bother me much but i've seen other customers getting really bad service. The sad part is that the good service should be by default. A customer shouldn't have to waste time and effort escalating issues.

The number plate light cover and the FLAP both are the same.
Actually i was not having the exact term for it so called it that.

                            @ SATISH:

The 180's number plate light setup is diff from the 160 (that what the guy told me who did the fender thing for me) that requires a long wire and re-routing too, i didnt got it done, as it was time consuming.

Plus get the fender and Flap fitted at the same time cuz the Flap can only be fitted by opening the entire rear panel, so if you dont get the flap wait for it to arrive and then change the fender along with it, otherwise he'll open the whole thing again.

PS: The rear looks good without the flap two, save for the three small holes, two for screws and one little big one for the bulb.

The flap i'm talking about is the removable extension which needs to be fit for the rains. The number plate light is ABOVE the flap and the number plate itself isn't it?

Well, to use regular single-piece handlebars to the rtr, you will have to fit a couple of holders to the upper triple-clamp. You will have to drill holes both in the triple clamp as well as the grey plastic cover. possibly spoiling the rtr logo. it would be covered by the handlebar anyway so it's gone. Take a look at various bikes, get rough measurements of the handlebar holders and see which one would fit the rtr with the least amount of trouble.

TVS have always marketed the rtr as a race-environment bike. Sure you can tour on it but you can also take a kine to leh. doesn't mean it will do the job perfectly. there are bound to be issues and back/neck/shoulder/wrist pain is one of them.
