    • My RTR is feeling like RTR again. In first attempt, mech had set valve clearances as 0.03(intake) and 0.15(exhaust) by his judgement. Then in second attempt, 0.04 and 0.05. Finally, i bugged him to use feeler guage and he set it as per company spec i.e. 0.06 intake and 0.07 exhaust on warm engine (company spec is 0.06 and 0.08 on cold engine). On commute to neral and back, RTR was touching 115 without opening throttle completely as long as engine was warm. But once it was getting HOT/SUPER HOT, RTR was struggling to go beyond 109kmph.
Now the situation is in morning, its giving whistling sound like Apache150 or new RTR. As engine warms up, whistling sound goes away and bike runs good. Then on hot engine, there is our dearly tappet chatter.

Seems like i need to reset the clearances as 0.07 intake and 0.09 exhaust. Will go out hunting for feeler strips today and will work set it myself on sunday.
There's lot to it other than saddle....

Loosening the tappets will only result in an increase in the tappet noise.

Do one thing set as per the co. specs in the cold engine first and see before setting it at 0.07-I and 0.09-E.

Why the engine is showing diff top ends in warm and hot conditions, infact in hot it should be showing its true colors.
How much kms u covered and at what speed when the engine reached the "hot" area???

And what's the whistling sound you're refering to?

300 kms since last setting. Engine heats up in 25-30 kms this includes 2-3 signals and moderate moving traffic.
@KK: i know that. In fact i dont care about tappet noise. But its strict No No to performance drop on my end.

            • @nox ...
The correct inlet and exhaust clearance are 0.07mm and 0.11mm. It can harm the engine if u restrict the flow through valves by decreasing tappet clearance.

See page 47 in this manual.

Lower clearance wont restrict flow. When engine heats up, there will be leakage from valve i.e. they wont close completely. same thing is happening in my case. TVS have updated those specs mentioned in that customer training manual.

Any will hunt the gauges today and set the clearance on sunday. WIll update you all after that.

                    • Thanks to rains my chain is completely fcuked up, it was covered with dirt and all the shitty stuff, and despite of being oiled heavily prior to the rains it got rusted.

So after cleaning it today with petrol and then WD-40 and then oiling it (20W40),i found one roller stuck, it's slightly tilted and it's not getting off from that funny position.

Do i ihave to open the full chain to take care of it, cuz i tried plier but it didnt helped.

                      • Fuel Pump (Am confuse)

Is it possible to service EFI's fuel Pump as my regular mech told me that PUMP KA HUMMING SOUND JYADA HAI compare with other RTR's ..? But few days back when i filled petrol humming sound was less and felt normal ...(humming soound mean that zzzzzrrrrrrzzzzzz kind sound come when u start ur RTR Efi) ... i dont understand wht's happening here. Is it possible that fuel pump ke andar dirt/Kachra fasa ho... ? How do i sort out this Fuel Pump issue...?

Also after 42000 kms i can feel bike has got some Drop in performance..? Do i need to do D-Carb ..?
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

What was the changing interval of your fuel filter??? (in kms)

It is very much possible that the fuel pump may be having the debris inside it collected over in the period of time, and as it's 42000kms old, there must be something inside it.

I never heard of fuel pump servicing, all i heard was throwing the old one off and bolting a new one.

And BTW, the fuel pump hummmmss more when the level of petrol drops in tank.

Oh...i changed fuel filter @ every 11k kms. What ...! u mean i've to replace Fuel Pump...OMG yes and one more thing Today i switched back from PSD 110/90 to Zapeer Q 100/90 now engine feels much relax on Zapper Q

is it possible that the debris which gets deposits in the pump passes with the flow of petrol from pump to fuel filter and then clogs the injector ??
if yes then what should I do to prevent this ?? and what are the signs to understand that the injector needs to be clean more over
yesterday went for a ride with my fellow kol xbhpians for around 90-90 = 180 kms and when I was cruising at around 80-90 and some time doing 100 kmph my friend found white smoke was coming out from exhaust though the amount of smoke was less after that I stopped and even in standing position if I rev hard then also smoke was coming out I am confuse what could be the prob, few guys are suggesting me to get the injector clean, bike is not even running in lean. bike done 18789km and petrol using is extra premium. the svc guys are telling me to get piston cylinder head decarbonised and to replace the valves and when I am saying to clean the injector , they r just avoiding and saying cleaning is not needed
                              guys please need help
                              thanks in advance brothers

Yes, pump isn't a filter,if any micro particle which escaped from the filter will be thrown at the injector.
To get your injector safe from all this replace the fuel filter at every 4500-5000kms.
