Got the tank cleaned today, it had only the upper side rusted, but no that much, got it cleaned with timing chain ( ! ), screw driver, cloth and cotton.
After clean up flushed the tank with petrol 4 times.
the tank is like new now.
Did you give any protective quoting inside,so that rust cannot come back again...or else add 2ml of 2 T for every liter of petrol as a way of rust inhibition.

No, i didnt got the guy for it, i will be adding oil with petrol, i have decided it too...

The condition of the pump was surprisingly good, the tank was only rusted from the top and the bottom was shining new, and BTW my tank had almost 800ml of water !

Rain water Harvesting ?...Happy that your tank and Pump survived.Even in my Car i add 2ml Castrol Power TT per liter of petrol, since it contains PIB.
When you go to the bunk to fill petrol make sure that the guy doesn't shove the pipe harshly and injure the coating in the tank...

Water was all F%&^* brown in color, and all the sludge removed was may be 20-30gms.

Will be putting 2t oil religiously.

Back in the old days when oil and petrol were mixed in the petrol tank there were less complaint of tank rusting due to oil in petrol. Now a little bit of 2T may be added to prevent rusting inside tank..about 2ml per liter. Please note a slight oil residue will appear in the exhaust mouth due to this..

There is no black cap it was probably covered with grease with dirt which made it look black in colour!

@All: TVS has launched a semisynthetic engine oil called Tru4Premium. It is 10w30 grade, costs Rs.235 and they are claiming a drain interval of 3.5K kms.minimum. I've tried it out on my old Fiero F2.
