No rtr160 wasn't running on a rich mixture. The average figures we got were @38kmpl for rtr160 & @35-36kmpl for rtr180. Both were being ridden @115-120kmph. Also as I said before rtr160 was kept on full throttle for most of the time(to keep up with rtr180) So i concluded that at high speeds the mileage difference between them is @2-3kms. Ya you must be right about the 5km difference in normal riding conditions.

Oh ok , i was talking about normal riding conditions , if you rip 160 mileage goes down drastically

If that was sarcasm in context of posting a pic here, you can better read the QUOTED part in that post And, the paint wasn't wet et'all and doesn't need to be checked. It dries out within 2-3 seconds

            • Hey guys I have a RTR 160 2008 year model. Recently my engine got ceased. Gave the bike to the mechanic said that the block-piston and camshafts are damaged. He got the block bored and got a new piston. Now the bike is running well without any problems.

My query is that how much kms of run-in should I do on my bike? Ive completed 22kms

The same way you had done when the bike was completely new i.e. around 1200-1400kms.

Hi I have rtr 160 he purchased on 21june 11, completed 1k run in period, Bike is nice get ave of 63-65 on highway single , 60 with pillion on highway , ~ 50 in city ,gear r smooth, laminated seat by putting some extra foam on rear half so to increase pillion comfort, little vibes r there from 60km/hr=4500rpm to 70km/hr=5500 very less than my friends 180 1yr old. i want to modify handle ,as after 1000km i feel uncomfortable while riding in city bumper to bumper traffic, does anybody done it I am thinking of putting hh splendour brackets/stud in t-plate and cb stunner or hh spledours handle. Looks and warranty is not concern

I dont think u can modify the handle bar to that of splendor, these are split type and splendors have a single unit , handling will be ruined , please dont do that ! and btw why do you want to do that ? to raise the height so that you wont need to bend and ride ? if that so you are changing only one part - handle wat about foot rest ? its rear set as well , dont do any of these kinda mods

                    • ^Duh thats supremely confident.

Am changing the front forks and the Tee and handle bar to those from the FZ16 in some time. And wait, I will further be effing up the 'ergonomics' by plonking in a monoshock and unicorns swingarm.

Does that make me Supremely stupid? Just because YOU dont approve of it?

FZ shocks! hope you're aware those are the one's most prone to get bent and hope you're also aware only changing the swingarm doesn't change the entire chassis! Apache frames are not made for monoshocks buddy, a friend got monoshocks done very recently and now he's suffering the cons. So that will be another disastrous mod IMO. Your bike, your life, your decision. Fellow xbhp members will just comment and advice.

btw, i forgot to mention in the previous post, @the guy interested in putting splendor handles, if you're extremely determined to do that mod, better look for the t and handle of the old apache. But still i would suggest, not to.

that's what i'm saying, the chassis of duo-shock bikes are designed to support mono-shocks so just changing the swingarm will do no good.

Few questions for you satyen .
1> Why you want to go for Fz16 fork and T aasembly ..? is there any advantage or just for looks..? i think fork also plays some role in how will bike handle in corners and straight line ( correct me if m wrong) do you think these huge fork will disturb bike's handling ..?

2> I think Chasis and Swing arm need's to be modify to fit that Monoshock :P is it correct ..?

Thank you. please do reply .
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.
