i have rtr he purchased on 21june and same day i made it tubeless, just remove the tubes and put valve, it coasts 150*2=300 rs only,i carry repair kit so if tyrewala doesnt have it u can do it
advantage= if any nail stuck in Tyre air will leak very slowly if u have tubed one then all air will vanish faster.[/QUOTE]

Which Front Tyre do u have??

& as per you mentioned i can say it won't disappoint you cuz you can use it for touring casually but not as a hardcore tourer..it'll suit your needs..
All right then, that clears everything in my mind. I'll book an RTR 160 HE at the end of this month. Thanks a lot for your help

stock tvs and i also fitted aftermarket abs (saferide),so if u brake hard on stock tvs tyers at speed of 80-90 no wheel locking = no skidding

coming to the battery, even my RTR Fi is sept 2008 made and my battery died in jan this year. So it is quite possible that your suspicion of the battery being dead is true. And i recently bought the 4 yr warranty battery from navi mumbai, costed me Rs. 1600.
confirm these two things before you take it forward. If both these things are indeed damaged, then you can take their OEM prices right off the asking price while negotiating.
the indicator should cost you about 200 now (it was 150 a year ago).
for the pune thing, post in the pune g2g thread. They will be more than happy to help.

Btw, why are you planning to keep it only for 1.5 years? is this gonna be a learning bike?

congrats man. welcome to the club. how much did you get it for? post some pics if possible.

The speedo cable you are mentioning, I suppose, is the speedo sensor cable with costs a bit below 400 INR and the battery which comes as OEM with the bike (Exide battery) would cost you 1300 INR from some battery waala guy and the SVC guys will charge 1450 INR for the same. While, I got Amaron maintainance free battery with 24+24 months warranty for 1400 INR coz of some "brotherhood" Well, you'll get that for around 1450-1500, so I don't think it makes sense to go same only 150 INR coz you ain't gonna keep it for more than 6 months

          Sorry for the late reply!
          Thanks for the reply guys
I am going to look at the bike again tomorrow!, will prolly close the deal tomorrow!
the guy has come down to 33k!
The bike is only for 1.5 years bcoz, i live at pune now and My course will be over in 1.7 years If i go for further studies also, I will get a new bike by that time!

Wow 71! you should show the data to tvs, they may give you some special prize or something!

btw, my bajaj boxer had a faster top speed than that, i hope you haven't bought an rtr just for mileage!

my bike is new so i am not ripping it to red line i have taken rtr bacause
                  1. spur gears, can take abuse
2.Over Square / Short Stroke, engine can take abuse
                  3. monotube inverted gas shocks, best in class
                  4. short wheel base, easy handle in traffic
                  5. front n rear disk brakes, good control
                  6. Digital Speedometer
                  7. Petal shaped disc brakes which not looks good but also helps in better braking
                  8. Service and battery indicator, low fuel indicator
                  top speed recorder, lap timer

i was considering unicon but 6 month waiting, rear monoshock too stiff for me tried on 3-4 friends unicons i can feel small bump also this is my personal opinion
so taken rtr changed handle to 1 piece now i got smooth confortable rtr wich gives good mileage,.

Not many people know that after the bike's built and being tested, the technicians rip the bike to the redline in all the gears. what happens then eh? the whole point is to not stress/overheat the engine. heat kills engines FAST. occasionally ripping a brand new engine and quickly reducing will not damage anything.

And you may want to check your facts again, there is no lap timer, only a moderately accurate 0-60 timer, the shocks on the rtr are much stiffer than most other bikes, which is a good thing for the racer, not for comfort. Oh and it has an OVER-SQUARE engine! sorry to disappoint you in case you misread the brochure

                      • i'd also like to add that even with conservative running in, 1000km is more than enough of pissy 50-60kmph riding. the rtr is a performance bike and it's a shame if you don't enjoy it for what it is. within the limits of the tyres of course if you insist on retaining the tvs stock ones, it's the rainy season remember !
