Anybody here has any opinion about Mak oil...Last service those guys added that to my bike. Normally they used to add TVS oil which was kind of ok for me...But this Mak seems to have dropped the performance..Also the gear shifts have become more stiffer than before. Also I observed that there is drop in speed I used to get at 5k rpm. Normally I used to get 70 km/hr at 5k rpm with gear shiftings at 4k rpm. Now its kind of droppped to 67-68km/hr. I know its a minor difference, but kind of feeling sloppy at times when I rev. Also nowadays the engine gets heated up pretty fast. Is Mak oil the culprit?
My next servicing is on Dec 3rd which is also my last free service. I'm planning to change oil to Shell by this week. Hopefully after that atleast the performance will be much better. Please give your valuable suggestions.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

RTR is air cooled.
Coolant will come in picture for liquid cooled engines only.

chain set replacement at 9000 kms
hi,
What is the usual life of chain sprocket for RTR ? and What is best way for long lasting chain sprocket ? b'cos for me it needs to replaced within 9000 kms.

Guys seems like my happy days with RTR is over.
Everyday she through new challenges for me. The latest one seems more like a disaster then challenge to me.
A TIGHTLY TUCKED BROKEN SPARK PLUG IN THE CYLINDER HEAD.
I was having hiccup problems so after checking and cleaning the spark plug while i was putting it back in the cylinder head and when it was almost in, when applied a little force to complete the turns, it started freely moving and when i pulled it ahaaa the spark plug is broken and so I AM.
Will go to a mech tomorrow and check what could be done.
Any suggestions.....Comment

Hi All,
Recently my apache HE is having some issues. The top speed has gone down.
Its not even able to cross 100km/hr with ease, like its taking too much time and you can feel there is some kind of difficulty. What might be the reason?

Are you running lean ? usually at SVCs they tamper with AFR settings and set it for good mileage unless told not to touch it. Anyway Guys seems like this time i was lucky and a little talk with her solved the probelm.
Took her to a local mech and he too suggested that now the head need to be taken off and all kind of stuffs. He was busy on another bike so I thought lets give a last try before the head thing.
Tried with different L keys, and one did moved the broken spark plug a little.
Tried for another two minutes and the broken spark plug came out a little more from the head. Told the busy mech about this and asked him to take off the tank from the bike so that i can have some space.
He took a screwdriver and placed it on spark plug and unscrewed it out from the head.
We put back an old spare spark plug and here she is roaring again.
Came back home, washed her and gave her a nice polish and I dont know what happened but now all the problems are gone.
Earlier i was having Severe hiccup problems but after this incident
ALL IS WELL and she started flying again.

Thanks for the reply yaar..I havent told them so far on millege related stuff..so i believe they havent tampered with AFR settings...also if thats the case it will show higher rpm i mean more than 1400 rpm when standing still..Correct me if I'm wrong...for me as of now its showin 1200-1300rpm...Even if they have changed for millege atleast I should get good millege which as of now I'm getting 40km/l and you know this outer ring road trafficOriginally posted by kantu View Post...I think as you said its related to air filter..i doubt whether they have cleaned it or changed it...Can this be done by local mechanic???
