Yes but don't expect the new carb to be perfectly tuned right out of the box. It'll have to be tuned right to restore factory settings.

Re: Apache RTR/FI
To all RTR FI owners - i urgently need a Starter Motor assy for my bike. The mechanic whom i had given the bike for service has taken the part from my bike and used it on another RTR for racing purpose. He hasnt come to the garage for last 20 days and neither i can get hold of the other bike. If anyone has a spare or can lend me Starter motor for a couple of days (only if you are not using the bike or has been lying around idle). I will return the part once i get hold of the mechanic. Its been more than a month that i have not been able to use my beloved bike and its really frustrating when someone can be so irresponsible. i do not have the money to buy a new one. Maybe someone can suggest a good used part which i can buy cheap.
i stay in bangalore, contact me on 9663301090 if someone can help.Everybody has their own version of TRUTH!!!!!!

Re: Best Engine Oil for Apache RTR 160
Hey guys,
Ive an TVS Apache RTR Fi(Sept '08 model). My charging circuit isn't putting out the right voltage(it should be 14V @ 4k RPM, it's showing 12.6 something). As a result, my battery is not getting charged properly and nowadays remains grossly undercharged. Everything is stock as of now.
Ill soon take it to a mechanic and find what/s wrong. At the same time, I'm planning to upgrade my electricals so that it supports more wattage. I just wanted to know if anyone here has done the rewinding, installation of a higher capacity RR unit and then installed a HID, all this on an Fi? I know for sure that many people do the rewinding and upgrade their electrical sytem, but will all that be as straight forward as it is on a carb bike? MOre importantly, is it advisable to tinker with the electricals on a Fi bike?
Any inputs welcome.Last edited by gautam_k; 05-08-2015, 05:50 PM.If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough - Albert Einstein

Re: Apache RTR 160/FI
I am not too sure if you should tinker around with electricals of Fi. Because the coil and magnet are totally different to carburetted versions of Rtr. Kindly check with experts before going through any modification.
Regarding the battery, I think it had something to do with wiring. If it is old battery you are still using, maybe it's time for a new one. As far as I understand from the above post, I guess you are trying to convert your bike into full Dc. There is some post in xbhp itself as to how to get it done. If I get the link, I will share it here. In the meanwhile, do your research and only if you are 100% sure go with the modification.

Do not mod atleast electrical system of apache fi.
Mod name looks and also sounds cool but never think about it.
If any problem occurs even a minor one then bike and you have a best of luck from me coz this awesome bike is from tvs (sadly).
I have apache fi 2009 yellow model till now the bike runs without any trouble ..but dude real trouble is the tvs service think twice before any mod ..have a best of luck.

Re: Best Engine Oil for Apache RTR 160
Try this. Open the magnet cover and check the coil if any one of the small blocks have gone black or looks melted. As one of the connection directly goes to the electrical for battery charge. It happened with mine once I had 180. I'm 90% sure that this might be the issue.Originally posted by avhad sitaram View PostDo not mod atleast electrical system of apache fi.

I love bike riding, but i know very liitle about maintanance. Please Help!!
Hi Friends,
I'm new to XBhp and I'm really glad that we have a platform where bikers share their Wandering experiences.
I have Apache 160 RTR, and it's been a year now. I have been facing issues with its performance, it looses its smoothness after I run it above 80 Kmph for a day or two. It feels as if I'm forcing it to reach above 80 Kmph. Please help me with a good honest mechanic who can fix the issue.
Regards
Faiyaz
