    • RTR Clutch plate confusion

      Hello there,

Can anyone please help me with the query.

I own Apache RTR 160 New Model its 29000 kms since i bought the bike, however i feel some roughness while changing gears.
Should i change my clutch plates? or is there any other measure to quell this issue.

I also request you guys to tell me why such roughness arises while changing gears?

      Regards
      Arun

bro, am also facing similar issue. i own an orange color rtr EFI 2008 august (2007 made) and i have the same strange jerking issue when the engine is WARM. i'm unable to find the issue. bike jerking in 3k rpm but running perfectly at cold temperatures.

PS: on disconnecting IAT sensor, bike is running normal and delivering a poor mileage; on connecting again it performs well (only in cold temperatures). i've changed the IAT sensor and the result is same. i don't wanna change my bike to carb.

Its too early to change the clutch plates. Maybe its time to drain the oil or change the oil to a better brand. if that doesnt help try changing the clutch cable as I felt similar issue and in a few days the clutch cable snapped in the middle of road. If that also doesnt solve then you better take it to service centre and ask what they feel about it. I remember me changing some rings or springs (I dont know the exact mechanical term) and after which the shifting was better. Clutch plates changing should be your last option.

Update: seems like I would have to go for the matte blue color, instead of the grey one due to the rains in TN delaying New bike deliveries by 15 to 20 days and the year ending. Does anyone else here own a matte blue one? If not, I would be the first one to own one!

I have been reading the entire ownership thread for some days now. I have realized how silly I was in going for modifications and literally screwed my bike. Eventually I sold it and got myself a ZMA. In all honesty, I can vouch the members here have been really helpful and always pointed out in the right direction. I cannot name anyone individually but want to credit the whole xbhp community for opening my eyes. While reading the ownership thread I realized how much I miss my RTR. The love and the passion I had for her did definitely make me blind and I just wanted to squeeze more. This was the point when it became clear, keeping the bike alive was more important than proving a point of trashing other bikes to dust in performance. Yes, I was a fool but the experience has definitely made me wise. It has given birth to a new me in terms of being a biker. Thank you guys for all your love and support. Especially I wanna thanks those people in my life who have played around with my feelings and cheated me and my bike (not xbhp members), I choose to forgive you. I would have never become what I am today without you buggers. Also at the same time you guys restored faith in humanity by driving me to those people who I can trust now. Cheers guys. Love you all. As much I am sad to see the legacy of RtrFi diminishing by the day, I still hope to buy one and restore it to its former glory. RTR is a dream machine and I have enjoyed it more than those stressful moments. Like it's said - the stone that gets much chiseling is likely to have more value. I can relate that to my life as well. Biking has really shaped my outlook towards life and the thirst to ride more has not subsided albeit on a different machine. Lastly, please take some time in going through the ownership pages, there is loads of knowledge hidden here. If you don't have the patience to find answers, do post your queries but don't blindly ask questions. Do your research cause knowledge is never bad.

Either the gear lever is bent or the side stand.

Guys, Got my RTR back. Will be using it for about 10months. My friend who bought my bike is out of the country till Sep / oct.

Bike has now clocked about 110-120k KMS. Speedometer has stopped working couple of months back. He never tried to get it repaired / replace. Am guessing that there is a wiring issue. It's acting very weirdly. Will try to take a video and post.
