Atleast a experienced biker will know about this, coz a battery cannot just drain off its power just in a second, neither will anything happen suddenly to the whole electrical system.
That says it all I guess Inder.
I disagree politely with what you said. If I were in a situation where I had no choice, where I knew no-one was coming, I would have surely checked the wirings. I actually explained the manager in Khivraj Motors that it wasnt a battery drainage as ECU 3.9 was being displayed all the time in the meter, but nothing else was working. But the thing is, I had the option of calling Bajaj Breakdown Service fellows and it was best for them to do what they do best. And with all respect, I think I qualify as an experienced rider because I have been not only riding but "biking" for eight years now. And i have had my share of moments where the only option was to take out the seat, the tools underneath it and start working than whining

payeng, if u remember, i had an issue with the NGK Irridium Spark plugs. It wasn't sparking properly even with the proper specs being put in the correct sides.

Found out later that the issue was the ECU. The ECU had gone kaput the same time i was changing the plugs. Therefore, lot of misfire, non-idle, engine-off probs during that time.

At 600 Kms the bike should be almost as good as new..

This is what I would suggest:
                    • Get a comprehensive test ride of the bike
                    • Check for smoothness of pick up (the P220 picks up quite smoothly from speeds of 35-40 kmph in top gear)
                    • Since it is 600 kms run, the bike is ideally in the running in period, therefore do not rip the bike
                    • Check for chassis balance- The bike should ideally remain in a straight line and shouldn't veer towards right/left
                    • Check the Front/Rear Suspension for rebound/damping
                    • Look out for any funny noise

Ok so its not the NGK's..

By the way, how satisfied are you with the after sales service that you have been getting? Also I hope the replacement is being covered under warranty.

                          94,000 - 78,000= a saving of 16,000K ..!!
Looks to be a very good deal (provided the bike is really in good shape)..

Don't forget to spend the 16K saved in a good branded Helmet, Riding Jacket and a pair of Leather gloves..!!

am pretty satisfied with the after sales service. Khivraj sevicemen are well versed with the problems that P220 might get. And yes Payeng, everything is being covered uinder warranty. Even the breakdown service.

well had gone today to get the ecu replaced and guess what the new ecu didnt even fire up the bike and the diag tool refused to acknowledge it as a ecu. well they put the old one back again. i now have to stay with the old ecu now for 15 more days, and the bike just turns off when it idles.
