    3. Spark plugs will set you back by about 550/- each, the KnN Filter be approx 2K/- +/-200/- depending on where you buy it from.

    4. I don't AS will install a KnN as they themselves strongly recommend against it, but then it would be if you confirm from them directly. Sparkplugs they will install.

so solve ur prbelms in sai service
please dont go for these service camps, had a really bad experience last year with them, first when i tole them that i dont get a good average they took it as the bike doesnt go above 40kmph, and then they go on to set the co at 9.5, they messed up the clutch settings and the bike was a disaster untill i took it back to the sk bajaj and told to set it up the it was before. It was complete fiasco

I'd be doing the usual 10K service replacement stuff like fork oil, air filter, fuel filter, rear shocker nox, etc.

Also intend on doing a de-carbonisation and valve lapping job on it!

          What else? Any inputs/ideas?

seems that everyone is busy ridin their 220s

A de-carb treatment would be advisable as also valve lapping. You can also ask them to check timing chain, strainer, sprocket and chain, various bushes, engine mounting, front and rear wheel bearings, speedo cable (need to lube it with silicon grease).
You use Motul so in that sense, any oil additive would be a waste. But you can try Bardahl Oil Additive; I have been informed that the same works wonders on the engine. Many of my friends who have tried it reported positively.
Also, check if you can carry out a compression test.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

              Finally someone!!!

Timing Chain, Strainer,Wheel bearings, bushes, speedo cable lube added to list!

Chain sprocket kit is going pretty good, got it changed just about 9K kms back.

I am a bit skeptical about and Oil additives, as they are know to do more harm over a long period than good actually. Do a google for "Engine Oil Additive" and you'll know why I'm a bit skeptical about it.

After a de-carb compression will definitely fall, but hopefully valve lapping job should have that in controllable levels!

              What else?

                      Forgot a few things
                      - Head Gasket/Packing (between the head and the block). I presume that this would be changed after the valve lapping job.
                      - Since your 220 does not have any vibes, it rules out the balancer loading job.
                      - Check the Swingarm axle and bolts(adjust according to the specified torque)
                      - Check the Banjo connectors to the oil cooler and back. Prone to leaks if not tight.
                      - Throttle Body(clean)
                      - rear wheel alignment(normal procedure)
                      - Also, check the fuel tank for corrosion or debris. If found, you may need to treat the same.

This one I am unsure about
                      - Check if the exhaust/exhaust header needs any cleaning

Good for reminding, the tank is dirty from inside i.e. if I rub my finger at the mouth of the tank I get a greyish past on my finger. I wonder if SC will do a cleaning job.

Once the head is opened I guess as procedure the gasket is replaced. So that wouldnt be too much of an issue.

Exhaust is new, so I guess that is also ironed out!

Throttle body cleaning would be done as its the 10K service.

Swingarm axle bolts is a good point! Will get this checked.

Oil cooler is not sprouting any leaks so I am assuming is all fine. Btw, do you guys ask them to open oil cooler pipes also while replacing oil. If you don't then start getting it done as there always almost 100-150ml of old oil in them. But draining the oil cooler pipes also means that you would have to fill in about 1300ml of oil.

Hmm, now this a nice list of things to do! I hope they can sort all this out in 3-4 days!

@Inder: Ye 30K service hai, taking good care at milestone services such as these ensures that the bike at this age is still as faster than the zma's as it was when it was new....

Though there are many who would disagree with my rationale, 30K kilometers marks almost 1/3rd of a car engine's life. With a bike it can be termed as 1/2 (with the way we ride). Since this is a major milestone, a good service should be carried out to ensure a trouble free life and consistent performance.
A major service at 30K is recommended by most manufacturers but is typically ignored by a majority of bike riders.

You also get the type of riders like my carpenter(mentioned in some other thread). For those who dont know about this creature, he has a splendor that has not been serviced for a hefty 1.5 years. Though it rattles, shakes and makes all kinds of noises, he is happy with the fact that it needs no maintenance

feeling the same and being the same is different

over time you get used to small deficiencies in efficiency drop
