  • Just want to share some more updates with all of you. I have covered some more miles on the bike after the 1st service and there is a noticeable difference in the smoothness of the bike.

Now the bike reaches 50 Kmph more easily (initially I had to rev a little to reach there but now it's very quick).

The suspension too if feeling softer (I don't know how this happened) and I'm liking it.

Fuel efficiency may have increased a little (around 55-58) after the service.

Overall, the experience is good. Thumbs up !!

      • Recently I have noticed some vibrations coming in when the bike is around 55-60 Kmph.

Any suggestions on how to reduce the vibrations? I have tried tightening the front mask of the bike but it didn't help..

        • Where are all the Stunner owners??

I see no activity in this thread whatsoever...

Looks like I'm the only one posting here...

Stunner does not have handle bar rubbers (where handle bar mount connects to fork assembly). Fit handle bar rubbers from Unicorn and the vibrations go to bare minimum. I have tried this on Stunner FI and it worked superb.

            • Ok...your suggestion is not quite clear to me.

Where exactly do these rubbers go? Do you have any images?

The Stunners owners here can be counted on fingers. You are the only one who is active and so you are Unique.

I have a 2008 Honda Stunner CBF 125 and the only mod to my bike has been the chain sprocket set. The stock bike had 14x43 sprockets if I remember correctly. After they wore out, a local mechanic put in Rolon 16x42 sprockets because none of the Honda service centres I enquired in had the original in stock.

The difference has been very noticeable. The bike's top-end has increased to around 100kmph with a signifcant decrease in pickup. It doesn't climb uphills as easily as it used to, especially with a pillion. That said, the bike is still great to ride -- to me it is better. I love the reduced vibrations and the higher top-end speed, but that is because I mostly ride without anyone sitting at the back. The pickup in the stock bike was more than ample and the reduction, although significant, doesn't affect me much.

Yes...seems like very few people go for the Stunner and very few are active here. It could either mean that I am unique (which I know I'm not) or I am a moron to have bought the Stunner (which can be true )

Anyway, I have not tried the rubbers as you suggested yet (don't know where to get those) and the bike still vibrates above 60 Kmph. I hate the vibrations.

Even my old Passion Plus used to be very smooth and vib-free till 70 Kmph...

Don't know what the Honda engineers did with the Stunner. I should have gone for a naked bike instead of the fully faired one like the Stunner. At least it would not vibrate.

The reason for the vibrations is obvious though, it's a short geared bike. The good thing is that it's giving me decent mileage of 60 Kmpl in city riding conditions (Mumbai).

Stunner is one of the best looking bikes in India and I love to own one. Its an amazing sporty bike for city. It was unfortunate that I had to depart with Stunner FI and it was not an easy decision for me. The mileage it gives is amazing.

You cannot compare this engine with 100 cc Honda engine. Honda engineers designed the bike in a way to make it quick at the lower end. It has 100 section rear tyre and still it pulls better than other 125 cc bike. The only negative for the bike are vibrations at higher speeds. The modifications that give this bike more edge is rear sprocket change and handle bars. Get the rear sprocket of Stunner FI or Dazzler or Twister (42 teeth) (450 bucks) and it will help in reducing the vibrations to some extent. Initial pick up will be suffered a bit and you will gain 10 kmph more in each gear.

Regarding the handle rubbers, go to Honda Service Station and ask the to fit Unicorn's handle bars. I am sure they will do it and it would cost around 400 bucks for the whole set up. I am sure the vibrations will be minimized with these two modifications.

                              • honda stunner 2010

Hi, after riding my dad's 5yr old splendor for nearly 2 yrs i finally got a chance to own a bike which i always drooled for its looks HONDA STUNNER . i got my bike delivered on 28th of December 2010.... The first few days of experience were all good but the battery started giving problems jus after 10 days. first my horn went bad, then my indicators were continuously blinking n the worst part the bike din start up ... I was very upset n furious so i had to push start he bike as the newer models do not have a kick lever..... finally i managed to reach the service station n told them abt my problem they told me the connections were all fine n had to charge the battery n they did so n gave me my bike. After like 4 days i again had the same problem...... this time i made sure i wanted a new battery so told i told them this's the 2nd time i was there wit the same problem so they finally replaced the faulty battery wit a new one. so this kinda faults r really bringing a bad name to the company..........
