      Hi,

As you suggested, i opted shell 10w40 synthetic oil, it costs around 380rs, changed rollers , belts and brake shoe. Now my scooter more smoother and responsive. That "keek keek" sound in the low speed completely gone. There is some wobbling in front, while checking with him (mechanic), he said it is due to slight bend in fork. He suggested to give "the forks" for a straightening job in near by lathe. whether this will help to straighten out a bended fork.? any idea guys?

      thanks

Thanks for the update on the repairs. Could u share the price of the parts and labor.
Coming to the fork, I can't say for sure if it needs work at the lathe without riding the bike. Because sometimes the wobble might be due to bad tires (uneven wear/old tires>3yrs), rim bend, wheel bearing or more common the coneset (i.e steering stem bearing) needing an adjustment(usually tightening the steering stem a wee bit) or simply realignment of forks by taking them out and putting them in correctly.
Sometimes even a bad tire at the rear can cause wobbly feeling at slower speeds.. So check both the front and rear ends for the parts mentioned above (except coneset which is present only at front).
Forks usually don't get damaged that easily.

          Hi,
Individual price break up i am not remembering but total part costs rs1540, and labour 600 including water wash.
In next service i will check the bearing for sure. And will update you s1d, you have been a tremendous help to solve the previous issues. Thank you very much.

Great.. Prices seem similar to Honda parts.

Sorry to say. But that is just not the truth. I got my Burgman this Saturday, And I can easily say it is more comfortable to ride, more easy to flick around than the access. IMO it is the most comfortable scooter available right now in India. Adding to that the LED headlamps of Burgman is also the best HD available for a scooter in India. Even though the access is more light, due to the aerodynamic and sporty styling of the Burgman it pulls marginally faster than the traditionally styled access. If we go for a custom tall windscreen it will decrease the wind blast is what I believe. Try riding them back to back and then decide if you are looking to get one.

Nice! Please do Start a new Ownership thread for Burgman and give a detailed review!

Recently I have noticed that my mileage has dipped quite a bit got 32kmpl tank full to tank full, any idea what needs to be done.
No issues with the petrol station or condition of the scooter. Done 5k km, driving sanely, moderate traffic.

Most likely it needs a Carb cleaning and tuning.

If I have to pay then i can pay 500/- to showroom guy & he will pick the best of the lot for me.

The point is, certain things in life are not free, like your internet for example.

The 10th digit in the Chassis number represents the Mfg Year. Theres no month of Mfg.

If you are the kind of person to pay a showroom rep 500INR to pick the best unit from the lot for you, then you should probably avoid buying a bike. Also showroom guys seldom know anything about a bike sitting in teh warehouse. If you pay 500INR, theres no guarantee you are going to get teh "best bike"

correct, there is no guarantee that it will give the correct info.
maybe you could strike up a rapport with the showroom guys and get some info.. but usually due to decent scooter sales, you will most likely get a 'recent' (within a month) piece.. not that a new scooter which is a month or two old sitting unused is going to have issues.
or you could write into suzuki on their email asking for info on decoding the number (maybe if you know someone with a suzuki, ask them to write in with their chassis number asking for this info)
and remember these aren't fruit to be able to pick a good one , you just need to use a bit of common sense along with a good pdi. Lemons are rare, bad riding and lack of proper maintenance is a predominant cause of failures.
you could also ask them to give you a call when their next lot arrives and go take a look of them unloading the vehicles and mark your target ! quiet a few folks have done that including me and it works in most cases.
