That said, I feel that black smoke coming from the exhaust of a new scooter is definitely not normal. My Access is also around 2 months old and has run about the same kms as yours, and I have never faced such an issue.

Re: Suzuki Access125 / Swish125 ownership thread
Hi, in my Access, it's quite the opposite. In my case, during cold starts, the scooter starts in 2-3 kicks without even using the choke. Strangely, the scooter sometimes dies down immediately after starting when I try to start with the choke engaged. No such problems when starting normally without the choke, and so I do it that way. Once started, the idle initially feels a bit rough (which I feel is normal) and smoothens out as the engine warms up, and there are no issues afterwards.Originally posted by roks2408 View Post

I am facing cold start issue with my new Access (850km, 1.5 month old).
Though the engine starts with just 1 attempt, it quickly shuts down when accelerator is disengaged after few hundred mtrs of run. So, what I do everytime during cold start is use choke and leave it for atleast 2 mins, after which there is no problem at all. Also, while using accelerator with choke on during cold starts, there is black smoke coming from exhaust.
I have tried using different petrol bunks but behaviour is still same.
I had just done my 1st service and the advisor told really stupid thing to me to deal with this issue...." Sir, I have cleaned carburettor and cold start should not an issue now" How can carburettor get so much dirty with so short ride
. Anyways, the problem is still there.
Can you please suggest if it normal for all Access (old and new) ? Any explanation from service engineers in past ?
I am planning to take this problem to Suzuki, please let me know how should it be dealt.
Thank You.
Try increasing your idle rpm. There should be a screw which you can turn clockwise for this, which you can find in the manual. Service guys messed up my idling by keeping it too high post second service. Too low of an idling rpm will cause engine to shut off.
The black smoke though, I have no idea what is causing it. Burning piston rings give out white smoke but that is way a way too early to happen at 850 kms.

Location of Secondary Air Filter
My Access bought on 11, November-2011 (11-11-11) , reached 22,800 Km with no major issues so far.
Going through the owner's manual few things caught my attention which I would like to have suggestions about.
1) Engine Oil Grade : The Company recommends SAE 10W-30 grade oil but Keeping in view the temperature conditions here in Punjab, I switched to SAE 15W-50, as the temperature exceeds 40 in the summers.
Is this a good decision ?
2) The owner's manual clearly states to Clean the Secondary Air Filter Every 4000 Km.
I could only locate the following filters : Primary Air Filter (Paper Type), Oil Filter (Paper), Oil Strainer, Cooling Fan Filter (Foam)
Can anyone suggest where could this so called Secondary Air Filter be located, so that I can clean that too ?
3) What is Valve clearance for Sucuzki Access 125 ?

Re: Suzuki Access125 / Swish125 ownership thread
Hi guys,
A friend of mine is looking at purchasing an Access 125 but was told that it is hard to find spare parts; that it takes a few days for the SVC to get them.
Is this true? Have any of you faced any such issues with spare parts?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Suzuki Access125 / Swish125 ownership thread
Here in Pune, you can get spare part easily by visiting the service centre and buy them directly from Spare part counter. I have seen local mechanics buying stuff from there.Originally posted by Hammerhead02 View PostHi guys,

Best is to go directly to any service centre and enquire about the same (go directly to spare part section and not main counter) before making decision to purchase.

Re: Suzuki Access125 / Swish125 ownership thread
Hi all,
I'm planning to buy my first Scoot for city travel (I have an Avenger 220 and a CT100). With the Mumbai Metro work in full swing and its inherent traffic woes, I'm now inclined towards buying a gearless vehicle as it's becoming seriously cumbersome to ride geared bikes in 1st and 2nd gears.
Anyways, I am pretty much fixed on buying the Suzuki Access 125. My only gripe (which is more of an aesthetic dislike) is the rather rickety rear tire 90/100 - 10 which sticks out like a sore thumb on an otherwise well proportioned scoot.
My question to the wise junta is whether the
70/120 - 10 Vee tire from the Vespa SXL150 can be fitted without any modification. Will there be enough clearance for the tire? I'm not worried about a possible drop in mileage or a slight change in handling dynamics.
Please let me know if anyone has successfully made this transition or has similar ideas.
Thanks

Poor ride quality - Suzuki Swish 125 ( Blown front fork )
I own a 2016 Suzuki Swish 125.
Recently I met with an accident which was very strange as my right side front fork got heavily scratched and it made a deep hole on the fork bottom. Thus the fork oil started leaking profusely.
I visited the service center for repairs and they replaced the entire outer fork assembly and topped it off with fresh oil. However when I took it's delivery yesterday, I found the suspension to be absolutely hopeless. It got way stiffer as if it was my friend's Aprilia SR150. I could feel each and every bump from the road. Ride got very fidgety at high speeds too. Also while cornering the front doesn't feel planted as before. Lastly as and when I have to take speed bumps, it needs to brought down at crawling speeds.
I contacted the service center yesterday evening itself and found their reply to be very weird at first. According to them, I need to ride for about a week or so, then the fork oil will get heated & prepped up and then suspension will function properly.
As per my knowledge if fork oil gets hot, it will create air bubbles and thus would hamper the movement of the shock. How come the justification of the service centre can be right? The suspension should operate perfectly right from the word go.
What I feel is over-filling of fork oil can be the main culprit, I request toall xbhpians to pour in your valued suggestions and opinions as I just can't drive my Swish like this for my daily commute.

You can go for MRF zapper D 100/90 r10 tyres. 120/70 r10 will be an overkillOriginally posted by A5H15H View PostHi all,

Overfill should be the reason. Both the shockers should have equal amount(by volume) of oil. Have it checked in another ASC if your place has another ASC or by competent technician\mechanic.Originally posted by Swishguy View PostI own a 2016 Suzuki Swish 125.

Thanks a ton Anupam, will surely visit another ASC tomorrow and get the oil level checked. But I just wanted to confirm whether fresh oil needs heat to work efficiently?Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostOverfill should be the reason. I don't think so. Did you feel the scooter same uncomfortable when you rode from showroom after purchase? I think no, but maybe sightly stiffer.Originally posted by Swishguy View PostThanks a ton Anupam, will surely visit another ASC tomorrow and get the oil level checked. As anupam said, overfill is most likely the reason. Check the manual if there is mention of how much oil needs to be filled.Originally posted by Swishguy View PostI own a 2016 Suzuki Swish 125.

Re: Suzuki Access125 / Swish125 ownership thread
Showed my Swish to another ASC, no issues found. Fork oil is correctly filled at 75 ml each side. Also all suspension components are fine and no signs of damage.
Neither me nor they are able to find out the problem. What can be the reason if overfill is not the culprit?
