  • Re: Suzuki Access125 / Swish125 ownership thread

    Hi Guys,

I bought a used access last year from my friend, its a 2015 model and presently clocked around 21300 kms. Initially it was running fine, but now a days, there is some kind of "squeeking ( kee kee sound)" sound coming from engine area, may be in gear box, not sure. The sound is coming at the time of accelerating from slow speed (say around 5mph or 10kmph) to higher, and it disappears after that.
anybody facing this kind of issue? Any idea guys?. it is really annoying.

    Thanks
    vipin

      Thanks hd_hardikdesai

Also, as I ride across lot of wind heavy areas, thinking about adding windshield/visor, has anyone tried, will there be any actual improvements? I feel access better than wego but would like to reduce it as much as possible.

open the variator/clutch side case, inspect the belt, rollers , clutch shoes/bell, and clean the area thoroughly (belt, rollers etc..) put back together and check. and make sure they don't grease the rollers (which some ill informed mechs do)
it most likely might need a belt replacement is my guess.

usually it is a good practice to get these components checked at least once every 6k km or every other service.. even better if you can get them inspected every service.. doesn't take much time and most svc will not do this during routine service even if the manufacturer recommends it.
i've always got these components inspected cleaned lubed every service from a local mech on my 11.5 yr old dio.. and the price i pay today for a full service is about 350rs for labor. you can read more about this from my posts on the dio/activa thread here on xbhp. Here is one such useful post:

And remember don't ever apply grease on the rollers (those tiny cylindrical thingys, or on the clutch friction material/bell). only place grease goes that too a wee bit is on the shafts where the front and rear drive parts sit and a bit on the rear pully part which slides/has a big spring.

Cost wise, the labor should be about 300 max at svc, rest for parts.. the belt might cost you around 400rs-600rs, am not very sure about the prices of the suzuki belt.

For oils check the vehicle manual & whatever they suggest. U can look for oil grade with the other brands too which are not mentioned in the manual as per your locality but stick with the mentioned ones.

I personally run 10w40 and recommend a w 40 always. Mineral oils are fine and change it every 2500-3000km. If the svc allows, get something from shell or motul and you should be ok.. If u can get jaso mb scooter specific oil better, but normal jaso ma is also just good.
Gear oil any brand like mak spirol, castrol ,Bosch in grade ep90 gl4 should do. Some.manufacturers recommend using the same engine oil in gearbox too..but the gear oil doesn't do.any harm n u can safely use it. Don't buy local brands that come in pouches.

Look into Burgman 125 maybe? External fuel filling isnt very important. And no access wont be getting any update since Burgman has entered the market.

I 'd rather pick access. Burgman is practically access with wider & total fiber body.
They didnt even change the tyre size.

Yup...Burgman looks are too sporty and aggressive for my liking...i wud rather go with TVS Entorq for sporty looks... but to me the retro looks of access are just fine

I feel the update will be in 2019 as updated Gixxer is coming, so at least cosmetic update should be there for Access. but if you are tall no other scooters will be as comfortable as the Access 125
