    On scooters, many will only use rear brake; esp new riders. Only those who've ridden motorcycles(with disc) apply front brake when riding scooter.

    I've replaced rear-brake-shoes twice each on Access125 & Dio but stock on my GS150R (all around 35k kms on ODO).

    You should go for Disc variant if you can.

      I would suggest you to go for the disc brake variant. You've made the right choice. I had test driven the disc brake variant. But I ended up choosing the drum brake variant only because the vehicle was not bought for my use, and my family members (which includes newbie riders) were not confident with the disc setup. I was unable to convince them about the benefits of the disc brake setup, and hence the choice. Had it been for my use, I'd have gone with the disc one without a second thought. Those alloy wheels look sweet.

      During my short test drive, I did not experience any skidding issues with the disc setup. I believe that the learning curve will not be very steep.

      Since it will be your primary vehicle, I'd definitely recommend the disc brake variant.

      By the way, which version did you book? The regular Access 125 or the special edition? The matte black SE variant does look fab!

        Thank You Jayaram for your suggestion. Luckily, my family did got convinced quickly on this front else I would also have to go with drum variant. They said that they will learn the way I teach them

        Hello Sparkot, You are very right with the maintenance issues that drum brakes gives including regular adjustments. I would go with your suggestion of make them learn the way it should be applied, slowly and steadily. I am going with Disc brake variant of Access.

        Matt Black Special Edition is just too awesome to ignore. Sadly, since my old soldier aka Pulsar was in black, everyone avoided same colour. We are settling with Deep Blue. I am happy to have disc brake variant as I really wanted it.

        PS : There was update from Suzuki Dealership that Sparkling black colour is discontinued from Suzuki. Can someone confirm the same and reasons if they know.

            Hello xbhpians. Please let.me know the best set of tyres for access 125. I have been using ceat which are good. Any other good option?

              pirelli is there but too expensive as it just does half the kms of ceats and it's very difficult to find.
              michelin city pro is another option but has poor reviews in wet conditions

                    1. MRF Nylogrip Zapper
                    2. Ceat Zoom-D / Zoom-SZ


                    Size recommendation : Front > 90/90-12 54J, Rear > 90/100-10 53J

                    Recommended tyre pressure : Solo > 22(F), 29(R); Dual > 22(F), 36(R)

                      Bought ceat gripp tyre for the rear. Covered only 25 kilometres. So far so good.

                          Suzuki recommends SAE 10W-30 engine oil which has operating temperature of -20 C to 30 C.

                          Whereas, 20W-40 has range of -10 C to 40 C ; I don't find any reason to not use this engine oil. Sticking to a specific grade is more important than brand, in my opinion. Since you ride is fairly new, I would suggest to go with dealer supplied oil.

                            Guys, I have a query. The starter motor in my Access 125 (2 months old, 800kms) is sometimes acting strangely. I think the one-touch start system is to blame. The starter motor sometimes keeps on cranking for a short while even after the engine has started, and this causes an annoying noise. Seems like it is not getting disengaged immediately after starting the engine. Is this normal?

                              Yes, it is perfectly normal. What is happening is that though the engine starts to fire, no sustaining firing has been established yet. So the motor has to keep helping the engine for a while till the engine speed exceeds the starter motor speed. Only at this point does the motor disengage. The cranking can happen anywhere between one or two to ten or twelve power cycles. So no need to worry.

                                Hello Everyone,

                                Wishing you a very Happy Diwali in advance !!!

                                I am facing cold start issue with my new Access (850km, 1.5 month old).

                                Though the engine starts with just 1 attempt, it quickly shuts down when accelerator is disengaged after few hundred mtrs of run. So, what I do everytime during cold start is use choke and leave it for atleast 2 mins, after which there is no problem at all. Also, while using accelerator with choke on during cold starts, there is black smoke coming from exhaust.

                                I have tried using different petrol bunks but behaviour is still same.

                                I had just done my 1st service and the advisor told really stupid thing to me to deal with this issue...." Sir, I have cleaned carburettor and cold start should not an issue now" How can carburettor get so much dirty with so short ride . Anyways, the problem is still there.

                                Can you please suggest if it normal for all Access (old and new) ? Any explanation from service engineers in past ?

                                I am planning to take this problem to Suzuki, please let me know how should it be dealt.
