Why do you say so? The quality of the thread depends on the people participating. If you find something lacking, please contribute so others can benefit.

We went back to the godown and there was a disc brake access waiting for us, actually me. Looks like this was a newer scoot and felt more eager - prolly freshly taken out. The disc brake was like wood. I was like, 'I'm not buying this'.
When did they launch the disk brake version? Can it be retrofitted on the old Access?

I am getting a 2009 Access in quite good condition done 32K kms for Rs.23K. Is it worth?

Hi! It's good and lighter alternative to Activa 125. In Kolkata it costing On road- 75208/- for Disc variant. But I'm worried about promised mileage and Service schedule thing (3 free, 3-paid till 24000 Kms) can anybody help me on that.
I have Aprilia SR150 in mind as alternative but it also costing around 91000/- on road with very good machine but no features and very less mileage of approx 40 Kmpl.

          Please advice.

          • Help me select spare parts for my Suzuki Swish!

            Hi all!

I had been giving my Swish 125 to Suzuki ASS for servicing over the past two years. It was only recently that I got my bike serviced from a local mechanic (who had good reviews on Justdial) and I found my bike was better than it has ever been!

The best part was that he serviced the bike right in front of me (he insisted). The only problem that I can think of is that the rear Brake Shoe has worn out rather soon. He had used the shoe of 'ASK' make.

So this leads me to my question. Could anyone give me a list of the spares with the best possible makes that I can avail in the market for my Swish. I would very much like to purchase them myself and have them fitted and not rely on the mechanic to sell me spares (which may or may not be original).

By spares I am referring to Brake parts, Switchgear, Lamps and whichever parts that need replacement.

            Any help will be appreciated.

            Thanks,

            KV

Servicing at local workshops is great if you know them personally and it you are sure about their work.

For the parts replacement, go to the nearest Suzuki Svc and get the parts form their itself, so you are getting the genuine parts itself.

                Hi thanks for the reply.

Going to the Suzuki SVC and getting parts from them is exactly what I've been doing over the years. But really what I'm trying to say is that I want to experience something with the bike like what you get when you build a computer yourself with each part bought as per your whims. Only just that the assembly here will not be done by me :P

Thanks anyway. I might just go on the interwebs and have a look.

Ideally, I would say stick to genuine spares. The price difference is not much and quality would be better. Most of the non-oem spares aren't up to the mark (based on my experience with my dio).
You could continue buying spares at the suzuki dealer (and i assume these guys don't give any discount + add tax) or you could buy the same genuine spares at a local spares shop (they usually give a 10% disc on mrp). So check if suzuki genuine spares are available at local spares shop in your area(or maybe at the main automobile spares market area in your city)

I enquired in Mumbai OTR was quoted 71.6k by the authorized dealership for disk break version of new access with no accessories, and when asked the local dealer he quoted 69k with all sorts of accessories so the total difference if I buy all the accessories came to 4k. Can anyone shed some light on it? Is it ohk to buy from local dealer?

But will it make any difference while claiming warranty or getting a little more driven scooter as the local dealer might drive it's way from the warehouse?
The way you treat you vehicle in 1st 100 is very crucial. Where have you bought your access from?

When you get your Suzuki scooter, if you have all the papers ,And warranty book, then no issues.

See the odo reading at the time of delivery.

                          Around 25kms its fine,
And its not the first 100kms,first service that is 750-1000kms,
Suzuki recommends proper break in for first 1600kms,
But i don't know why they arr telling 1600kms, because they dont recommend chainging the engine oil at 1600,

                          Ride under 45kmph,
Till first service that is the main thing, no problem if you unknowingly touch 60also 1 or 2 times.

The throttle and power delivery of both access and swish is very smooth that ,you wont even realise the speed increasing, unless you keep your eye on speedo meter.
                          I own a Swish.

                          Enjoy the ride 😊 ,
                          Ride safe 👍

The Access' 125cc engine is sold in other markets in various other forms like the AN125. Some international markets use miles instead of kilometers. Hence the 800 and 1600 kms mark (500 miles and 1000 miles respectively). Run-in doesn't exactly get over at 1000 miles/1600 kms, but a 'round' figure is more easier for the customer to remember.

My GS had 23 kms on ODO during delivery; fine as the one way distance between my dealer and RTO is ~9 kms. Also, I did the run-in on the highway simulating city conditions. Runs fine till date except for some niggles unrelated to the core/engine.

                                Dear All,

I recently got Suzuki Access 125 Disc Brake 2016 model (Matt Grey) for my wife but I too use it occasionally. Previously we used TVS Scooty Pep+ and must say we were quite tired of the niggles faced with Pep+ despite our usage being daily but running being very less (about 5-7 km max per day with occasional longer rides - as this is mostly used by my wife)

Have just crossed 1100 km. I believe that you don't have to stay as low as 45 kmph during running in period. You can go to about 50-60 kmph but not constantly at those speeds. Keep varying speeds between a range rather than constant riding at one speed even if it is within recommended speed limit.

Initial impression is quite good about Access 125. It is quite quick in traffic and whenever I use it, I can't help but feel it was a good decision to move from Scooty Pep+ to this vehicle. On Pep+, it was quite frustrating as not only it had niggles but was also very sluggish in performance. Comfort was not so great as Pep+ bounced up and down few times after hitting any speed breaker! Balance was not too good, tyre grip was not good and braking was pathetic also.

Access has solved all of that. It is fast - many times it can be used to easily overtake majority of motorcycles between 100-150 cc In scooter segment the only thing faster would be Aprilia SR150 which anyway is leagues ahead in performance and handling.

It has fairly firm suspension which is well damped - so it doesn't keep bobbing up and down after hitting potholes or speed breakers even with 2 people (heavy like me also!).
Braking is quite good for its segment (real test will come in monsoon - Scooty brakes used to jam due to rusting and even caused minor mishap due to their abrupt action once for me - this used to happen even after taking pre-monsoon care by servicing the brakes and everything..)

Access makes a good overall package which is unisex - Wife can handle it without getting intimidated and finds it useful in terms of space, height, weight etc...While I find it not too sissy, fast and decently comfortable so I don't get frustrated while riding it like it used to happen whenever I was forced to ride Scooty Pep+.

Sheerly due to experience with Pep+, I became allergic to TVS scooters altogether and switched to Suzuki Access 125 Disc Brake Version. If you want a zippy scooter but don't want Aprilia SR150 then this is right choice for you (Aprilia SR150 is best if you are not looking from utility point of view!).

Access will beat Honda Activa etc surely in performance. Plus, attitude of Honda dealers towards customers is much worse than Suzuki dealers (they are like - customer needs us, not the other way - if you don't buy, we don't give a s*** - a million others will buy anyway).

Including extended warranty, they are covering 5 years - let us see how it goes in long run.

Note: My other two wheeler is TRIUMPH STREET TRIPLE 675 ABS (my XBHP thread is starting with the words "Red Rose") - now you know why I don't want to use Access everyday - and you can also understand how good Access is at least when new!
