Pinaki Ji...From what I have seen the AFR screw in Access is on same side as the Idle control and is Close to Manifold opening to Engine..I think in Splendor, the AFR screw is on opposite side to the idle screw , but is still near the manifold opening to engine. Where the AFR screw is situated near opening towards the Air Filter inlet it will be the Air Volume adj., screw, and where as if the AFR screw is situated closer to the opening towards the engine it is 99% the Fuel Volume screw . Kindly correct me if I am wrong...

Well access is really a powerful scooter , considering that it's mileage is not that good .
It would give around 35-40kmpl .
But the swish is more fuel efficient and has better performance .
My mom owned both these models , currently she is having the swish

Believe me mate , I had a custom suzuki access with endurance exhaust, NGK plug and was tuned .
It would keep up with an yamaha Fz till 80 easily

Trust me you won't regret it , it's an awesome machine .
Also check the swish too .

Handling of Aviator is definitely better than Access. The front telescopics of Honda are a lot better than the Access; the access' shocks are very stiff at front. Moreover, the bigger 12-inch wheel at front of Aviator would assist in easy turnings.

The new Aviator comes with 110 cc engine and is reasonably powerful enough, if not equal to Access.
You are right both the swish and access suspension is pretty stiff. But it makes up with it's performance .

All the 2009 models at the time of its launch were really good , my mom had it for like 5 years and didn't have any problem . Now she is currently has the swish . But according to her access is better . But I personally prefer the swish because of its raw performance

Yes , you are right on all counts , but one . I have borrowed an access few times but since it's carb is concealed , I have no idea exactly . But on the Splendor's Keihin PB carb , the AFR screw is an air-adjusting screw . You are correct in that it is indeed on the other side to the idle screw , but it is close to the air-intake side of the carb .

Thanks for the heads up ,and knowledge shared...Since the AFR screw is near the engine manifold in Access I had presumed it to be the Fuel screw....The carburetor has a Vertical Oval Venturi for better Venturi velocity and AFR mix , avoiding mid flat spot...
The Suzuki AN125 model is the closest to Access, but it has BS 26 CV Carb....

Psr , Still am not sure about the Access carb / afr-system , since I have not seen it ( am only sure about the splendor's ) . Maybe it is different in few aspects from Splendor's , maybe ... I also would naturally think it is fuel-adjusting if the screw is nearer to the carb's fuel intake pipe or engine manifold , and air-adjusting screw if nearer to the air-intake .
Anyway , about the OP arya809 's idle problem - can it be from a clogged idle jet in the carb , what do you think ?

Yep, most probably a clogged jet. arya809, get the carb opened, cleaned up and set to factory settings.

...
Going out of scope here, but it's regarding Idle-Screw in old-Dio. This screw pushes carb-slide inside to allow air during idling. Does this screw has any rubber-washer and spring like Motorcycles' carb do? Mine is missing... (or not, depending on the truth)!

Pinaki Ji , I had seen the Access carb and tried adjustment...In fact with a new Air Filter it was near impossible to tune it properly...after about 500Kms of running I could get the engine to idle without hiccups, and the AFR was 2 1/2 turns anticlockwise from fully turning it clockwise till stop....still after some further dust loading ,after 1,500 Kms the idle went very low and bike used to shut off after start and needed throttling while stopping at signals. So AFR turned anticlockwise by 1/2 turn and it worked well for a further 5,000 kms when the air filer got clogged and needed replacement...this time I added a thin foam liner on top of the paper filter and it helped...

The screw that pushes the slide is the idle speed set and will not have any rubber "O" ring... only the AFR screw will have to prevent air leak

MAN!! My query got the experts to pour out their knowledge about carbs and idling, it's worth reading twice! While reading the last two pages, I had a HUGE GRIN on my face! Thanks a ton guys!

I would definitely get it cleaned and reset.

Till then, if I wanna really do it myself, should I tinker with the AFR screw? Last time I only tried 1/2 turn anti-clockwise, and when that didn't work I set it to the earlier position. As mentioned by you, it could be cuz of clogged air filter and 1 or 1.5 turns anti-clockwise might work?!

Can I take it to a local mechanic for carb cleaning? AFAIK cleaning carb is child's play for local mechanics. Is it really necessary to take it to ASC?

You also mentioned that the access required throttling at signals to avoid engine off. Isn't it bad for the CVT to rev the engine while applying brakes? I am assuming that you are talking about throttling with brakes applied at signals.

Arya 809....Carburetors must be handled properly else, some damage will occur....since you had set the AFR screw back to OE setting, just change the Air Filter and see....To have better knowledge, you can try turning the AFR clockwise till it stops...DO IT GENTLY or you may break the AFR screw tip inside carburetor...While turning the AFR screw clockwise till it stops, Count the Number of Turns and write it down in a safe accessible place, so that you can refer to ir in future in case of doubt....
The throttling I was referring to is mild throttling to ensure that the engine does not stop...so question of drive clutch wear does not arise.

my silencer steel cover/cap is rusted and came loose this morning on road and got damaged by passing truck.
can some one please tell me if i can get this seperately and if so what is the price.

SVC guys told that entire silencer needs to be replaced and its cost 6K ( damn expensive for 50K Scooter). Please advice.

Live like you mean it, then get a bike!
