A small update on my part regarding the faulty speedo meter that i was talking about. Today went to the service center and one person from Suzuki India has inspected it and gave it a green signal to replace it under warranty. Now, it has been replaced, I still don't see it working the way it should, but its definitely better than one that was replaced, I will give it some time, to settle in. As far as today's experience is concerned, there were no hassles, simple inspection and they replaced the faulty meter console. Now odo is at zero again!

yes, that's about all they do apart from cleaning the air filter and a water wash. unless you have any other specific issues, why would you want them to fiddle with something if it is working properly especially as early as a first service.Originally posted by hd_hardikdesai View PostTomorrow I will be going for my 1st service. Inquired about what things they do soo the showroom guy told me only oil change and brake tight. Is that the only things they do?🤐 But I respect the guys honesty 😂😂

Hehe I don't want them to fiddle around. I am having a different kind of problem with the tyre pressure it drops around 10psi in around 4-5 days and that to both tyres is that normal?Originally posted by s1d View Postyes, that's about all they do apart from cleaning the air filter and a water wash. unless you have any other specific issues, why would you want them to fiddle with something if it is working properly especially as early as a first service.
I have checked for puncher but everything seams to be fine, the worst pressure I have noticed was 9 on the front and 22 on the rear within 4-5 days after getting the pressure set to 22 for front and 36 rear any idea what must be the problem?

remove the entire wheel with tire, inflate it to say 38 psi and check it by submerging it in tub of water and rotating it so that you cover the entire circumference and the rim is also in the water.Originally posted by hd_hardikdesai View PostHehe I don't want them to fiddle around. if not a conventional puncture, it could be a bad valve, leak from rim due to tire not sealing properly/rim damage or simply you missed detecting the puncture earlier.
For a consistent reading, fill up air from the same petrol bunk (the gauges that the local puncture wala's have are not accurate and vary a lot) and ensure you fill up on a cold tire and check it after a couple of days on a cold tire. Riding even for 2 km tends to have significant change in psi readings.
there are too many variables such as different gauges, tire temp etc.. if you randomly fill from different places and check it at different times.
And don't forget, might be some miscreant is deflating your tires

Since it is the first service request for a Oil filter change too...A new engine will have metal particles in the oil , and the filter will be catching most of it..If you have to pay, then do so, (max 50/-)since it is an Insurance for a better engine in future...If they say no filters available, The RTR oil filter is straight fit for Suzuki Access 125..Originally posted by hd_hardikdesai View PostTomorrow I will be going for my 1st service. That's what I think too so will be approaching a Tyre guy soon

I fill the petrol and air at the same bunk and mostly when the tyres are cold, as the bunk is just 500m away

Yess even I felt the oil filter change is must, I'll try to tell him to check the air filter too😉 and will ask them to remove all the plastic 😂 I haven't removed that yetOriginally posted by psr View PostSince it is the first service request for a Oil filter change too...A new engine will have metal particles in the oil , and the filter will be catching most of it..If you have to pay, then do so, (max 50/-)since it is an Insurance for a better engine in future...If they say no filters available, The RTR oil filter is straight fit for Suzuki Access 125..

I assumed that by default the filter will be changed during an oil change.. But you never know, so better stick around and ensure its done. And you'd have to pay for all parts/lubricants.. Only labor is free during free service some would also add some random consumables charge (which probably covers their water wash cost).Originally posted by hd_hardikdesai View PostYess even I felt the oil filter change is must, I'll try to tell him to check the air filter too😉 and will ask them to remove all the plastic 😂 I haven't removed that yet

Sir, I don't think the newer Access comes with a easily replaceable paper oil filter. They have gone the Activa way!Originally posted by psr View PostSince it is the first service request for a Oil filter change too...A new engine will have metal particles in the oil , and the filter will be catching most of it..If you have to pay, then do so, (max 50/-)since it is an Insurance for a better engine in future...If they say no filters available, The RTR oil filter is straight fit for Suzuki Access 125..Good Luck

Re: Suzuki Access125 / Swish125 ownership thread
Done with the 1st service, and itwas a very weird experience
Only oil change was done and little bit of break tightening that's it I insisted for a oil filter change but the service guy said it's not required as it's not made of paper like the previous versions.
And when I asked about a wash he's said you'll have to keep your bike and go or get it done from outside, as the people are busy right now so I opted to get it done from outside.
The oil change was done with shell 10w-40 synthetic base I guess that's semi senthetic approx 650ml was poured in and the mrp of the bottle was 390 approx.
I was charged 400rs for this, I felt this a bit too expensive as the oil would have been used of rs 250 only, as I was in hurry I didn't insist for the bill which was a mistake I feel.

Is it possible that I can buy the oil from Amazon as it's cheaper than retail and ask them to use that oil?
The engine got smoother, the throttle response was crisper then before the engine feels soo relaxed and has become a little quite than before.
I was curious to know what things would be done in the next service so he told me this oil lasts for 2k km only so if the bike has not run more km then just a top up if that's required and everything would be inspected and cleaned and replace if required. He told me that the idle rpm would be increased in the 2nd service, reason he explained but I forgot 😂

Does suzuki use shell oils in their svc ? I thought they had their suzuki branded oil (though it is probably made by some other oil company).Originally posted by hd_hardikdesai View PostDone with the 1st service, and itwas a very weird experience

And only 650ml oil poured? I thought the oil capacity would be 800 ml at least (maybe more). Check your owners manual, it will have the oil capacity and also the service details i.e. what has to be checked/replaced at specific service intervals.
Please recheck the oil level on your scooter. 650ml is too low for an oil change.
Regarding buying the oil outside, that depends on your svc.. some might accept and some don't. For e.g. my ktm svc will accept oil i buy outside(as you said saves money), but the honda guys are cranky (especially if bike is under warranty)

This specific Suzuki SVC sells high end bikes even have some for display so maybe they don't trust Suzuki oil😂Originally posted by s1d View PostDoes suzuki use shell oils in their svc ? I thought they had their suzuki branded oil (though it is probably made by some other oil company).

The recommended grade is 10w 30,
And the oil change was done with 10w 40 so it's better I feel don't have much knowledge in this department, will check the oil level myself tomorrow if it's between minimum and maximum mark then ohk or else will ask them for topup or buy myself.
I was asking about purchasing the same brand and same grade oil from online or discounted retail and then will ask them to pour that in, that should not be an issue I guess. I checked the price of full senthetic it was 650 something + that will last almost 1k km more then semi senthetic so I can even go for that.
I wonder what fully synthetic will do to access as it has become very smooth and refined with semi senthetic itself
And I couldn't find anywhere in the manual as to how much oil it can accommodate so If anyone has any idea or know the correct amount, please mention it. Thanks!

Re: Suzuki Access125 / Swish125 ownership thread
You can safely go with mineral or synthetic.. no issues. shell has some pretty good oil across the range. I have used ax5 on my dio a few times and never had any issues. A 10w40 shouldn't cause any issues.Originally posted by hd_hardikdesai View PostThis specific Suzuki SVC sells high end bikes even have some for display so maybe they don't trust Suzuki oil

I'd advice you rather stick to the mineral (like shell ax5) and change it every 2500km, rather than spending more on a fully syn oil (these scoots are pretty happy with mineral oil if you stick to a ~2500km oil change interval)
