Why not, when an Tvs moped and rx100 can go to leh then why not a Dazzler, just make sure the bike is upto the mark for such a long and rigorous trip, tyres are the most crucial part in this trip as they have to combat, from flat roads to snow, mud, slush, water and nail like bolders, just get your bike properly serviced and make sure everything is working at tis optimum level.

Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
Off late my bike has not been tracking straight, particularly on the brakes. It's more like a weave , rather than tracking to one side. I did notice the chain adjusters at the rear were way off each other. So i corrected the adjusters to be the same on either side. Now the bike tracks much better, but still on the brakes there's pronounced deviation. And it just weaves left and right, not just to one side. After leaving the brakes, it still weaves a little bit for some time. Even other wise if I take my hands of the bars at moderate speeds, the bars do wobble a bit. Just got the steering head bearings changed as well. Do these need further adjustment immediately after being newly fitted? I was watching this youtube video (Steering head bearings: how to replace and adjust - YouTube) (check at 1.22)where the guy suggested after about 500kms new bearings must be readjusted. Also not to forget the white elephant in the room, my front tire is 60000 kms old!!
But still i do think it looks decent enough and the weave is quite pronounced as well.
Please advice about things to check for. Thanks in advance!

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
I too faced this problem got the bearings changed known as coneset its good after that(1000 plus kms since i changed the bearing). It usually happens when the bike hits a pothole or a rough road i just stop at the side of the road wait for a few seconds and continue again but its not the solution
just a temporary thing one can do

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
Thanks for the response Neil. The bearings and forks setup on the dazzler as also i believe on other bikes in this range cant quite keep up with the abuse our roads dish out. This is my third cone set, in 60,00kms, and the first one lasted 25,000kms.Originally posted by neil9381 View PostI too faced this problem got the bearings changed known as coneset its good after that(1000 plus kms since i changed the bearing). It usually happens when the bike hits a pothole or a rough road i just stop at the side of the road wait for a few seconds and continue again but its not the solution

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
Three cone sets in just 60,000 kms that's quite fast, i can't say about other bikes but mine is still perfect after 45000kms, whenever the need arise to change the cone set, clean the area properly with some solvent and then go for water proof grease, and after getting new cone set, ride sanely for few hundred kms and don't pressure wash your vehicle.Originally posted by easy_rider View PostThanks for the response Neil. Whenever you grease or change race bearing set let the cone settle down, it's just like taking care of a newly assembled engine, if you wash it instantly after gettin new cone set the water could seep into the newly filled grease and hence make it unaffective, just let the balls in the cone set make there own way, and if you wanna wash your bike even after sometime never point water hose directly towards con set.

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
I am having a wierd problem with my 3 year old Dazzler off late. The problem is with the engine idling. When the idling is set to around 1400 rpm, whenever I accelerate and let go the throttle, the rpm goes down slower than before and sometimes the idling gets stuck at 2500 rpm for a while and then goes down to 1400 rpm. And also sometimes the rpm doesn't go down beyond 2500 rpm unless you throttle it higher for two three times. This problem goes away if I set the idling to 1200 or 1100 rpm but then it results in frequent stallings. Can anybody throw some light on what could be the problem? I just want to be aware of the root cause before taking it for service.
