Would agree with this - spraying at the back is not very useful at all, mostly everything gets flung all over the place :|

if you use the spray pipe or whatever the thing is called you wont end up losing finger but may be pipe(motul cleaner has it)
actually i use to spray at red points as it will end up lubing from both side of chain and are easily accessible ...
and i prefer oiling in gear with bike on as the time of the process reduces alot .
actually if you use in bike off it is safer but time consuming.
if you are just oiling it wont feel a differece but cleaning and then oiling makes up a difference.

How much time does it save you bro? Hardly 5 mins! 5 mins isn't a big time to lose on for trading off safety.
In fact, it takes me over 45-60 mins to do the entire process because I mostly use grease. Also, I remove the chain off the bike and dip it in grease. Wipe out the extra and the put it back in.

Some of it may touch the bike's body parts while fitting, hence I give the bike a thorough cleaning session and detailing if time permits.
Its all about how you feel you can best maintain the bike. It shouldn't be done for namesake.

Well, as they say; to each his own!

          WHAAATTTT...?????

Dude - it my humble request please do not do this man. It is a disaster waiting to happen. I do my chain lube with the engine off and it takes a sum total of 2 minutes. What time saving are you talking about man?

Really - please don't do this. The time you save is not worth even the risk; forget the finger.

Spraying lube(sticky) on the back of rear-sprocket(bigger) seems appropriate while spraying clean in the middle seems effective.

Rotation you get with bike on center stand & in neutral ought to be enough for chain cleaning/lubing, is it not?
How much time do you usually leave the chain-clean(extremely flammable) to dry off before spraying chain-lube(on-road type)?

Using sprays on fully covered chain cases is tedious/time-consuming, while just oiling is easy with an oil pump through that chain slack inspection window.

PS: Personally, I feel Motul Chain clean/lube are over kill. I've more than half of the bottles/cans lying around.

After applying clean i shift gears till 5 and run on it for a min or two ..
And i take a round before and after cleaning for making chain little warm.

Then i apply oil and let it go for the night

Is there any feedback after cone set upgrades to roller bearings ?? My cone set has gone bad after 12k - thanks to the roads in kolkata
I need to upgrade to a hardier one as the ASC guys here never grease the cone set during service.

You have to specifically ask them to open the cone set/axle etc to grease. It is never a part of regular service and you would be charged extra for it.
Cone set replacement usually is a time taking job (60-80 mins) and mechs usually can service a few bikes in that time.

BTW, what do you mean by harder bearings?

I don't know what bearing are used by OEM, but get a pack of SKF bearings and get the cone set re done. Also, one need not touch it in every service. Check for proper lubrication and wear every 8-10k kms.

Please share how & where do you source SKF cone bearings other than OEM(Stock) in B'luru?

When I look up on SKF(India) site, I get Tappered Roller bearings against cone bearings search, which aren't a direct fit. There is one distributor on JC road though.

nsengg points on honda unicorn dazzler cone bearing ???

For the bearing type, it would be prudent if you carry a sample with you to match in the shop.

Yeah no problem. Just see that it fits the battery holder slot. Sometimes higher capacity batteries are thicker and do not fit.

Any comments on the rectifier, will it be adequate to charge upgraded/higher battery?
