Going back, my Honda mopeds from Thailand NEVER HAD any issues with wirings and relays.. as long as you keep it stock..

My Suzuki Moped from Thailand as well is now 99.999kms beating the Digital Odometer.. starts like new using Electric Start..

The relay that i tested is from thailand.. i was on the verge of buying that Thailand Made relay as i know it is better

+1. This is true. Even when I was selling my Dazzler, it got issues with electric start. The person who purchased me had replaced the relay and the battery too. This is definitely a quality issue from Honda India.

I'm Quoting myself here to add the image of the Battery that i mentioned.. The Size that i Bought is 5L..Bigger cap than the stock batt, my Exide Battery is fine totally fine

with few alterations, it will fit into the slot (removed the plastic casing at the bottom of the battery and straightened the steel covering the batt)

Lately my bike was having starting issues where i was only hearing a 'CLICK' sound and nothing more, starter motor is not kicking and i had to push the button several times worst you have to long press the button and hope that will kick in.

As you noticed i changed my battery to a bigger one. But i did ask my mechanic Honda about my problem. I was so impressed on how he diagnosed my bike and the eagerness to fix it, He even asked me if I want him to repair the old relay, i said no. I'll buy a new one.

With a volt tester, he tested my old battery, starter motor and even cleaning my starter motor but no luck, until he tested my starter relay.. boom he got it.. he said that the starter is just giving out .8 volts instead of 24 for the starter to kick the engine..

He may have noticed that im not convinced, he took another relay and that worked with no issues 1 CLICK START!!

I then rushed to the nearest shop as they they dont have it and cost me 180 Pesos..

I heard that a lot of people are suffering this.. so heres the solution.

I think Honda India needs to think about these relays as its the only way for this bike to start..

Anyway.. I'm a happy camper now.. no more worries

Just curious if the existing coil would be able to charge this bigger battery?

Hi Buddy, you can get generic ones on ebay india, but cannot comment on the quality of product or service. If you have a friend in US then try to get a "RAM Mount" from them. Google it up, they are very famous.

In India you can get a similar good quality mount for bikes from Rynox Gears : RYNOX GEARS

You can either order online or pick it up from their official stores (like LGU in Bangalore).

                                Hi Guys,

I own a red Dazzler, bought in Jan 2012 as a birthday gift to myself . Done 21k kms till date.
Oil used: Honda 10W30 Mineral till 20k kms. Currently using Shell Advance 10W40 SS.
Bike is super!! Perfect for me as my daily office commute is almost 52 kms. Very smooth till 4k rpm and goes wild after that. Getting the best of both worlds

Everything was fine till I had an engine overhaul done in June 2013. Apparently some water entered the engine oil compartment, turning the oil into lassi. Did an engine overhaul as suggested by Honda ASC.
From that day onwards, I am having trouble in starting the bike. The bike only starts when I give some accelerator and press the starter button. Choke is useless, the bike starts for a couple of secs and dies again. Even if it starts, I have to continuously accelerate else it dies. This happens even when the bike is kept idle for 3-4 hrs. However once the engine becomes warm, it starts in one click of starter.
I complained it to the ASC, but they just increase the idle RPM when the bike is cold and once the engine becomes warm the idle RPM shoots to 3k. These guys are practically hopeless and I just don't trust them.

So the first thing I had in mind was that the battery was at fault, as it was stock and had done around 1.5 yrs. So I changed my battery in July 2013 to Amco 5A MF. Still the same problem persists. In fact, last Sunday the bike was parked for whole day and when I started it on Monday morning, the display just went off for a sec or so and came back . A few cranks later, it finally started(with some accelerator of course). I went to the battery dealer and checked the battery voltage, it was 12.xV and upon accelerating it was 14.xV. So everything was normal here I guess, though I haven't checked the voltage when the engine is cold.

It looks to me now that either there is some problem in relay or I am running lean. Very lean. I had already changed my relay twice(a few months back) costing me around 375 Rs. each time(ASC says electrical parts are not covered under warranty, hence I had to pay). Was thinking of checking the spark plug for any signs of lean mixture, but I am not much of a DIY person and had just changed the spark plug last week itself. So I think spark plug would not show much.

Now before I show my bike to some local mechanic, what do you guys think? Is there some problem in relay or carburetor tuning or even battery? Any help from you guys will be greatly appreciated.

P.S: I tried searching for the same problem in this thread, but I just had to share this.
