But a motorcycle battery does not work the same as phone battery. When the bike is under use the battery is continuously being charged (by alternator) and being discharged (by electricals) at the same time. The RR unit is already optimised to route enough charge to the battery to balance this charging and discharging rate. Basically if your charging/discharging rate is not balanced (say because you put in a 100 watt headlight) then no matter how small or big battery you put in, the battery will sooner or later get discharged (unless you upgrade the alternator to produce more current and then upgrade the RR unit to handle the extra current load). The current situation is Just that with a bigger battery you have more of reserve backup if something were to happen to your alternator. That is all.

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
No need to do anything to the Regulator Rectifier unit. The RR unit just manages how much (watts) and what kind (AC/DC) of power goes where. The output of the current which charges the battery comes from the alternator. Dazzler's alternator generates 140 watts at 5500 rpms which is enough to charge the battery. Only thing is that were you to drain the battery completely then the time required to come back to full charge will be more.Originally posted by SparKot View Post

Change the air filter. Look like air flow is not proper into the bike.Originally posted by rcprasanth View PostFolks,
35+ on ODO and recently, my bike gives hiccups when i accelerate. What might be the issue? Any pointers here?? When i try to accelerate, the bike goes out of breath and it feels unsafe to overtake. Please help!
Also check if the afr is correct. Lean afr can also cause acceleration loss.

Clean the Air Filter, check Spark Plug condition, look for any blockage of the suction port.Originally posted by rcprasanth View PostFolks,

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
you cant clean the air filter if it looks bad replace it,its easy to replace it @SparKot
I hope there is no cloth or anything kept in the vacant space below the seat which can prevent suction of air.Last edited by neil9381; 05-06-2014, 11:17 PM.

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
Why can't it be cleaned? The Air Filter becomes dirty after running some kilometers and the same can br cleaned. But, after certain kilometers (above 10k) you have to replace it.

Air filter in Dazzler is viscous type air filter i,e (paper type) which can't be cleaned and only replaced its like use and throw, as per the manual it has be replaced every 10k kms. As i stay in bangalore where the dust is more so i replace it every 7k to be on the safer side.
Hope this helps.....

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
Air Filter cleaning is recommended with help of compressed air in every servicing, this will not let the dust settle in the Air Filter. If you don't clean it, the filter might clog up and bike's performance will be affected.Originally posted by vajra_bng View PostHi,

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
Mate, these can't be 'cleaned' like new. But it is recommended to clean the loose dust with pressurized air. This will allow it to run for the given range. If this isn't done, the air filter will clog the flow as low as 4k kms in dusty places. This is what Devil is trying to say.Originally posted by vajra_bng View PostPaper type/viscous air filters can't be cleaned and it has to be replaced i myself have a dazzler and i change is every 7k kms as its not possible to clean.

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
Paper type Air-Filters are often cleaned inside-out(reverse flow) using a jet compressed air. It's said, trying to clean a viscous type only makes it worse. Recently, I cleaned (removed accumulated dirt) Dio's viscous air-filter; response is better though.Originally posted by vajra_bng View PostPaper type/viscous air filters can't be cleaned and it has to be replaced i myself have a dazzler and i change is every 7k kms as its not possible to clean.Last edited by SparKot; 05-07-2014, 09:42 PM.There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

Re: Honda Unicorn Dazzler
Try cleaning the Air Filter in your every service and you will not need to change it till 10k kms. Viscous Air Filters are the one that can be cleaned without any hassles and easily.Originally posted by vajra_bng View PostPaper type/viscous air filters can't be cleaned and it has to be replaced i myself have a dazzler and i change is every 7k kms as its not possible to clean.
