  • 21k kms service deatils.

Just gave away my bike for the servicing today at 21k kms..
Front brake pad being changed second time: Cost 550/-
last time it costed about 350.
Chain sprocket totally worned out but decided to change it after the rains fade away...Last time I enquired the price of the chain sprocket, it costed 1250 but when I enquired today, the price is 1671
The spare parts person told me that all the prices of the spares are increased by Honda...
Honda Unicorn chain sprocket costs 1250 but the only difference between the two is a metal support strip right outside the teeth of the rear sprocket which is absent in the one for Unicorn. Has anyone tried using Uicorn chain sprkect in Dazzler? Does it differ?
Rear disc pads still going strong at 21k kms without being changed ever.
Has anyone got the wheel allignment done at HMSI ASC? I was being asked to get it done. Upon me enquiring as to how do they do it, he said they will heat the wheel and allign it. I found it fishy, so said no for it.
Anyone has any idea on the same?

So, the price of front brake pads increased . Did you see whats the make of the pads?

The chain of Unicorn and Dazzler are both different. Unicorn's chain is normal one, whereas the Dazzler's chain is O-ring chain. O-ring chains are relatively stronger than normal chains. O-ring chains have sealed o-rings between the links enabling lubrication at all times. O-rings make less noise than regular chains.

The price of Dazzler's chain-sprocket had always been 1600+ rupees. It was never 1250. The chain is costly because it is O-ring chain.

I have no idea about wheel alignment by heating the alloy. I am hearing it for the first time. I will enquire if this is true. Till then, don't say yes to this alignment process.

      • front disc pads

Does anyone knows the make & specifications/size of front disc pads on dazzler(OE)? Are there any other pads which will offer better braking?
I am not satisfied with the stock pads & would like to try something else. I don't want too expensive ones though. Any suggestions......?

AFAIK, there are no alternatives. The ones provided by Honda are decent enough for 150cc bike. I found them to be good, if not excellent. Coupled with rear brake, its really good. Sometimes air in disk reservoir makes the brakes a little spongy. Do brake bleeding and also clean the pads.

No, I didnt check whats the make of the front pads.. The price of the pads are 416/- and the total bill came to 550 with all taxes and everything..
hmm true, Dazzler chain is O ring. You definately pointed out its advantages. However, just one more quetion, my mech once told me that you can get a couple of links detached from the chain so that the chain noise will reduce, in case the chain setting is completely done. But when I tried to do that, there was no master link. Is it because of it being O ring? Does the Unicorn chain have the master link so that one advantage of it can be that you can probably get a few links detached when the chain setting has reached its max.
Thanks for your reply on wheel allignment. I said No itself at the very first time.. These guys who inspect the vechile in ASC have incentives based on the amount of bill you get done from the customer. So they propose engine flush, wheel allignment etc etc.. How I know this is because on mf my friend is working in Bajaj ASC

            • Hi guys, Need a little bit of help.

Bike has done 10000kms and front brake pad shows 2 lines left of wear indicator so I should not need to be replacing the front brake pads.

Yet the front brake has become very spongy and for fully engaging the brake I have to pull the lever very hard and it almost touches the handle bar itself. This was not the case when the bike was new and this should definitely not be the case. Obviously feed back has reduced considerably.

So i figured there was air in the system and got myself a bottle of brake fluid and replaced the complete fluid in the lines. Yet same problem and no improvement.

So my question is that to reduce play in the lever and make sure that on pulling the lever the brake bites early, what needs to be done?

              • I am not looking to sell my bike but just wanting to get an estimate out of curosity

                Hello all,
In addition to my above question, I have another question.
How much would my Dazzy bought in June 2012 (exact 2 years old and 20k kms) would fetch? All services done on time. Bought it for the price of 74k.
The reason for my question is I happen to check out 200 NS and found it very neat ! So when I spoke to the sales person at Surodaya Bajaj in Mira road (Mumbai), he quoted me an exchange price of Rs 38k/-
So just thought of knowing what would be the ideal price.. .
P.S: Mostly, I am not looking to sell my bike but just wanting to get an estimate out of curosity...

                • Life span of Chain Sprocket??

                  Hi Friends,

I own a 1 year old Silver UniDazz which has done around 12K.
Off late when ever i go over a ditch/bump the chain's making a sound. So i got it checked at Pratul Motors(Erragadda). The technician told that the whole chain kit has to be replaced & it costs Rs.2000. He showed me the screw(I guess it adjusts the tension of the chain) on the swingarm and told that its at the last position
Is the chain life of Dazzler so bad??
The roads which i drive on are some of the best roads in Hyderabad (Punjagutta to Gachibowli via Filmnagar)
I get my bike serviced every 2.5k or 3months & get the chain lubricated every 1000 Kms. Even with such preventive maintenance the chain dint even last 15k.
I feel that the overall maintenance of this bike is proving to be high contrary to the expectations i had
Other than that the bike has been serving me pretty well.
It gives me a good mileage too. Generally during my daily commute my speeds hover between 60 & 70 and i still get a shade above 50KMPL
The top speed i've achieved on this bike is 124KMPH. 110 is pretty quick and beyond that it takes ages to reach 120.
Another cool thing i would like to share, this bike's capable of touching 104KMPH in 4th gear

Anyway, guys please do let me know at what interval you've got your chain kits replaced.

                  Thanks.

If I keep my Dazzler, I would definitely go for R15s front and rear; they offer excellent grip. R15 tyre is 100/80, whereas Dazzler's is 110/80. I don't mind one downsize for greater grip.

There are not much alternatives apart from MRF. There is Pirelli SD, but its too costly and wears out super quick (max 17-20k). For those who do off-roading, the new CEAT tyre on Impulse is a great option, but I don't know its available in the market yet.

Tyre wobbling can be due to uneven tyre wear. First change the tyre and see, if the problem still there, you need to look elsewhere.

And what about your handlebar? Did you try Gladiator's? Regarding the suspension being hard, yes I agree its on harder side, but I didn't bother me much, and in fact I found it comfortable on broken patches at speeds. How much air you are filling at the rear and front? The suspension being on a bit stiffer side, any over inflation than required leads to more harder suspension. At rear fill only 30 if you are riding alone, and with doubles 34. At front 25 constant with or without pillion. In general, everyone fills 40 at the rear, but its not good for Dazzler.
                    Thanks for replying Ravi.
Yes i will definitely check out the R15 tyre combination but i heard that it won't last more than 10-15k max.
I am also planning to check Michelin pilot sports as well.

I guess i PMed you regarding the handlebar change. Sorry if i did not.
I changed from unicorn handlebar to dazzler handlebar and so far good.
And yes i keep the pressure as Front 25 and rear 32 all the time. We can never predict when we will carry a pillion..

                    • Hi Guys,

I'm looking to book a dazzler. The waiting period for the bike is 15 days. Do we need to pay the entire amount upfront or is it enough if we pay a booking advance of Rs.1000? Pay the rest during the delivery of the bike.

                      Thanks..

You might get around 50k if you find a right person. Though Dazzler has better features, it has less resale value than Unicorn. Sometimes people are blind to see things.

O-ring chains are closed chains. There is no master link. And its the case with all bikes with O-rings. You can't open them. They are this way because of the o-rings.

I don't suggest you to use the regular Unicorn's chain in Dazzler. The open regular chains make lots of noise and needs lot of maintenance.
