My weight of 68 Kgs + luggage weighing 30 Kgs. was carried. There were excellent roads, as well as no roads in certain sections. On every single morning it started with the first 2 second crank. Above 14K feet there was a marked difference in power however not of real concern at that height as it was expected.
Congrats for this great achievement! Dazzler indeed has a lot of potential.
Was your bike in complete stock condition? I guess you must be using the stock viscous air filter, then. Did you have to open the air filter box's cover on crossing 11K feet? Apart from opening the air screw, what else was needed to be done at that height?

Yes the bike was in complete stock condition. Yes I was using the stock viscous air filter, however I replaced that on reaching Leh (was intended and was carrying the spare) as it had never been replaced earlier (bike is 13 months old).

        Great Pics man.
Good to hear that the bike performed well.
What about the tires?? How did they hold up??How was the grip?Did they get punctured at any point?
Did you have to adjust the chain during your journey?

The tyres performed well, there was no puncture or air loss, neither did I need to adjust the chain enroute.

          • @nsengg, its really nice to see Dazzler at Leh. The pictures are nice. My Dazzler should got Leh'ed this year, but its postponed for next year.

Yes, the bike has lots of potential. I did many long trips on my Dazzler, and it was always a delight. Low stance, excellent handling (due to rear disc and monoshock), time in the LCD, tubeless tyres, minimal plastics are boon for this bike.

I found Castrol Power FS oil can lying idle at home for the last three years. Yesterday I filled Dazzler with this oil. Its doing nice as of now. Will have to check how it performs in long rides and how it does after 2k kms.

The last replacement of my air filter was 8k kms back, and today I have replaced it with new air filter. The bike is now more smooth and the minor vibes before have reduced significantly. I can surely notice the difference after changing the airfilter. I request every Dazzler owner to change the air filter at 7-8k interval instead of 15k interval for optimum performance of the bike. When I replaced my airfilter at 15k kms initially, I noticed the filter to be very dusty. Dusty air filter affects the bike a lot.

I'm a bit bothered how my clutch is behaving.

When i Fully press my Clutch, Shift to 1st Gear, the Sound of Metal to Metal is noticeable.

This is also the case when I shift to 2nd Gear from Neutral..

How should I adjust the clutch? I just changed OIL Shell AX5

should it be going to the right?
Take the bike to a mechanic and ask him to adjust the clutch play. Clutch play should be a little, and not too less and too high.

Sad to hear that. Hope you have got the spares by now.

It seems the piston rings have gone in your bike. Because your bike has problem, don't think that all other Dazzlers are same. Nobody else so far has reported this problem.

There can be lot of reasons for the smoke. I guess your bike is still in warranty. Bring this issue to the attention of service station; they will replace the piston rings for free. They will replace all other defective parts if any. Your bike will be normal again.

Sad to hear that. But, we can't do much for these things as the do it in our absence. My Dazzler was victim of many falls in parking lot.

The total expense for changing the lockset is 1300 rupees (1150 + 150 labor charges). The entire fuel filler cap was replaced because the fuel cap is hinged type.

Thats common problem , me too had that problem some years ago on my Boxer Ct , some body had forcefully put mud inside keyhole , screwing up the ignition completly. its very embarressing and taxing to get it rectified specially in populated area , i had to drag the vehical 3 kms to change the lock . some two wheelers like Activa , access , cbz have shutter for key lock. this should be mandatory for all manufacturers.

Piston head changing at this stage is not required even in worst com worst cases( even reved to redline throught your 12K run) , it should smoke in low rpm's too with loss of power, check oil level and make sure oil is in good condition and reaches all parts (let it ideal for 2/3 minutes before reving).make sure fuel lines are optimum with good fuel( no adulteration , water ,etc).
Honda is known for reliable engines , don't expect core componenets to fail so easily.

Thanks Ravi .. But i was so Impatient, i did it myself and do the Trial and Error.. which worked fine for me

Its good to know you were able to do it. Though you can figure out easily to do it, I though it would be better done by a mechanic. Any improper adjustment may impact clutch.

                          • disc pads condition

sorry for this nob question, but how to check whether disk pads are due for replacement or not(both front & rear disc brakes). What is the exact procedure for inspecting the disc pad condition.

                            Comment

                            • Hey its pretty simple. There are wear indicators on the discpads in the form of 2 lines. As the disc pads wear off, the lines will disappear. Check your manual to see where exactly the lines are.

For the rear brake, look from behind the callipers and you can see the disc brakes. Look at the outer pad (on the exhaust side, may need bright sunlight/torch) and you will clearly see the lines.

For the front pad, the lines are kind of hidden and you will have to bend all the way down to the wheel level and try and look up towards the pad from the front side of the bike. Its a bit tricky for the front since the pads are hidden from view a bit. Check the exact location from the manual.

Incase you dont spot them then i will click a few fotos and upload.

I am attaching my Dazzler's rear disc picture and marked it for recognition. This is the status of my rear disc pads after 23k kms. They are still looking to go for another 5-7k easily. If the pads' thickness is less and approaching the metal plates, you need to change them.
