wrt the front end -- maybe the fork nut wasn't tightened properly or the coneset replacement job wasn't done properly. Or you might have a fork bend or the front wheel bearings need replacementOriginally posted by easy_rider View Post

Up for this please..Originally posted by phat_17 View PostHi guys, I took dazzy to a 50kms of twisties..
i felt that our dazzler needs more torque power in 3rd and 4th gear.. Its slow on exiting corners.. 2nd gear is too strong..
do i need to change sprockets to improve it? what size?
Thanks.

Will check the same and update. Btw is there any specific way to check for a fork bend?

Another member of xbhp (xtremevirus i think) who is a dazzler owner had got a 46 teeth rear sprocket setup on his dazzler! The stock is 15T42. From his account the acceleration of the bike had become MAD...!!! Simply crazy! He said that he reached speeds of 90kmph in no time at all but after that the engine red lined and there was no where to go. So while it increased acceleration by crazy, the top speed was limited severely. It was a Hunk's rear sprocket if i recall correctly. He had also setup a 40 teeth rear sprocket I think and again the acceleration lagged badly though the cruising speeds were much better and engine was very much relaxed. However I don't think he redlined in top gear, also the first gear became very tall and so slow speed riding was impossible in second gear.
In my opinion the stock gearing is the best. xtremevirus is also running stock sprockets now. In my experience, keeping the engine in the power band is enough for the twisties. I never found dazzler to lack even with a heavy pillion if I kept the engine revving around 5000rpms. Let the rpms fall below 4000 at any time and it feels as if the engine is struggling. In the mountains its all about maintaining the rpms!Oy! I had already replied in the previous page itself...Originally posted by phat_17 View PostUp for this please..

The forks are fine if you can leave the handle bars and still the bike goes arrow straight on a plain level road, with zero rider input. If the bike is tracking towards the left or right or you cannot leave the handle bars at all because of vibration then something is wrong. After I had a minor fall, my handle bar got bent ever so slightly, but the forks are fine since I can ride without holding the handle bar perfectly. This is just one of the ways I am aware of, others can help further hopefully.Originally posted by easy_rider View PostHey thanks for the response.

hello guys, got my bike back today, parts replaced (as in bill) are valve guides, valve seals, piston rings, cylinder gasket, fork oil, fork set cones. total bill amount Rs.2040/- (675-parts + 1115-labor ). since the piston rings are new do i have to do run in ?

aah so they just replaced the rings and the valve parts... good.. and definitely do a run in for at least 600km for the new rings to seal in. If you haven't replaced engine oil when the new stuff were put in, i suggest you do so and replace it again at 1000km. Do not go anywhere near the redline for the first 600km, but gradually vary the speeds/rpm and keep the speeds below 60kmph, and dont 'lug' i.e. riding in low speeds at higher gears. and oh a good practice would be to warm up the engine for a minute before you ride offOriginally posted by castro View Posthello guys, got my bike back today, parts replaced (as in bill) are valve guides, valve seals, piston rings, cylinder gasket, fork oil, fork set cones. total bill amount Rs.2040/- (675-parts + 1115-labor ). since the piston rings are new do i have to do run in ?

I spoke to a couple of mechanics today and they told me at 25k kms there is no way cylinder would wear out without scratches. Since you told there were no scratches in cylinder, changing piston rings only would suffice. Good to see only piston rings and valve seals are replaced, which were the probable culprits. As Sid said, do run in for around 600 kms; its important. Hope the engine sets in properly soon.Originally posted by castro View Posthello guys, got my bike back today, parts replaced (as in bill) are valve guides, valve seals, piston rings, cylinder gasket, fork oil, fork set cones. total bill amount Rs.2040/- (675-parts + 1115-labor ). since the piston rings are new do i have to do run in ?
And, please don't rev till red line in neutral to see if smoke is coming. If you want to check, do it only after 1500 kms. In the next service, you can ask the service center to do a compression test to see if there is any compression leak. If the compression value is within the range, the piston rings and valve seals are set in properly.

you mean a loong ride ? break ins don't happen 'asap'.. keep it gradual..Originally posted by castro View Postreally nice of u ravi, s1d, plasmabhai, u were very helpful, thanks a lot guys. changed spark plug to ngk g power (cpr8eagp-9). ll do a 250 km ride this weekend. ll try to break in asap. forget to mention i replaced my chain and sprockets also, down by another 1800/-

In that case pls change your engine oil as mentioned above, and do not:
1. cross 60kmph
2. rev hard
and do:
1. stop every 30km and let the bike cool down for 10 mins
2. change engine oil now, and again after 1000km
3. do not hold on at one speed, vary the speed +/- 10kmph every few minutes on the long ride.
4. let the bike warm up for a minute and always remember to ride the first km gently.
thanks enduku bey, party kavali

I'm facing a strange issue with regards to throttle response of my Dazzler which is about 1 year 3 months old. My idle RPM is at 1400. When in neutral, I slowly open throttle, the RPM falls down to less then 1000 and bike behaves as if it is going to stall. While continuing to open throttle very slowly, suddenly the RPM shoots from 1000 to around 4000.
This issue is causing pickup problems while riding the bike and the bike suddenly jerks while riding when there is RPM shootup.
I have already got the spark plug checked at a local garage and that guy even adjusted something near the throttle. But my bike still behaves almost the same, there is a marginal improvement though. What could be the issue?
My bike is completely stock condition without any modifications.

I think your pilot jet is blocked partially. This may be cause of multiple reason like use of dirty fuel. The idle is ok that means engine is getting enough fuel when throttle is closed. When the throttle is closed, the engine gets enough fuel. But as you open the throttle, more air rushes in but because the pilot jet is partially clogged, enough fuel cannot enter the engine and this leans out the mix and hence the fall in rpms. As you open throttle further more air starts sucking petrol from main jet which is free and unclogged. The air fuel mixture is restored and thus the engine rpms jump to 4000 and beyond. You should be seeing the jump start from 3200rpms and up since thats where the carb shifts from pilot to main in dazzler. This may be the cause of your problem from my judgement and common sense. In any case your problem is carb related. A good carb cleaning will help. Others can advise further and correct me.Originally posted by nsm2285 View PostI'm facing a strange issue with regards to throttle response of my Dazzler which is about 1 year 3 months old.
