Lubes
I use kerosene for cleaning and gear oil as lube. Even the manual says you can use gear oil (90 I suppose) as chain lube.Originally posted by vajra_bng View Posthey guys,
Can you please suggest a good alternative for the chain lube&clean spray as its expensive.
Lube and adjust chain every 500kms . Gives good life and keeps the bike smooth.

Thanks, but used engine oil is not a good idea i fell as it will have lot of dirt from the engine.Originally posted by mid View Post^Kerosene or diesel for cleaning and cheaper lube/ used engine oil for lubing as far cleaning and lubing is done in a regular way

Used engine oil will also have lost lubricating properties and they just fly away from the chain at speed and make the area messy. It also attracts lots of dust.
As for gear oil brand, any descent brand would do.

I said IF "cleaning and lubing is done in a regular way"
Its better than nothing. and the TS asked for a cheaper alternative. Every body kno branded and specific oil is gonna do good verses non specific oils. any wet lube is gonna get attracted to dirt and become thick. Duration differs off course.
Regular cleaning and lubing(not over doing) is more important than going for diff brands, especially if u r price sensitive.

It's 29000km now and the rear tyre has worn out. I'm looking for an upgrade from the stock 110-80-R17, may be 120-80-R17. Any suggestions on Brand and suitable profile appreciated. I think those who already have changed can help for sure. Thanks!

[QUOTE=pididame;909853]Using CBR front tyre for Dazzler rear will not be a good idea. The threads pattern will be different as front is designed for hard braking. Someone please recommend a good replacementOriginally posted by nidclt View PostIt's 29000km now and the rear tyre has worn out. Have seen a few dazzlers in Bangalore wtih MRF Zapper yvde 120/80 looks good but not sure on the performance, i could not ask the owner about it as he was zooming past in the signal.
Heard a lot of people suggesting the R15 V1 tyre its 100/80 but a very good rubber as it sticks like glue :-) to the road
