Rs 350 for the air filter !! I bought one from a wholesale dealer in feb this year for Rs 120 and replaced it myself. Its quite simple. I had my fork oil replaced in September of 2014. Price of oil was Rs 130 for 350ml savsol fork oil and labour charge was Rs 170. So total Rs300. Coneset was also replaced. It was billed as "kit race steering". cost was Rs 420 Labour charge was Rs 280. Total Rs 700. I have not got my discpads replaced yet so don't know the cost. All of the services was done at the authorised dealer SRIVARI honda, thrissur. To me, the prices your guy is mentioning seems a bit high.

I really dont think that the sprocket would wear out so early, My dazzler's odo reading is 24000 plus kms and the sprocket and chain are in good condition.

I told them not to do anything to sprockets as they looked good.
I am feeling that the quote they gave is on higher side.

            Hi All,

Now days I am facing issues with my front disk brakes.

The stock brake fluid was transparent DOT 4, but SVC guys replaced/topped it with DOT 3 (pink) one.

Since then I find front brakes too spongy, and I can pull the brake lever all the way back to touch accelerator.

I can also observe that the brake lines (that thick rubber pipe) swells (noticeably visible) when ever I pull brake lever.

I showed it to SVC again and they have refuted any possibility of bubbles (instead they filled DOT 4 again till reservoirs neck :P) and instead suggested to change master cylinder.

The disk pads are new (less than 2k Kms and in very good conditions going by the wear lines).

I have checked other brake issue related threads also and feel like replacing Brake fluid with DOT4 one.

but the SVC suggestion and that brake line swelling is scaring me from doing so.

Any suggestion/help will be much appreciated.

            Thanks & Regards

            • Why my motorcycle is pulling towards right & starts to wobble?

Few days back my Honda Dazzler fell towards its right while riding all due to stupid auto rikshaw driver who overtook me without any warning & went away without stopping & bike pretty much took a heavy hit as the speed was approx. 40 kmph. After few days I had changed its cone set because bike was making "khat khat" sound whenever I used to go over a pothole it was way before falling & cone set had to be changed. After installing new cone set my bike has been wobbling I went to Honda service center they checked & mechanic tightened the center big nut which is below handle bar, after that wobbling issue went away now the bike pulls towards right whenever I go over small potholes or a road filled with continuous potholes at a decent speed of 20 kmph, bike starts to pull towards right & starts to wobble. Again I went to Honda service center to rectify the issue. They test drove it did some adjustment to the big center nut problem got rectified but again there was a slight pull towards right & started to wobble again service center said that handlebar has been bent towards right so it is pulling towards right. So I said "ok, make it aligned" they kept the bike for whole day & I guess they had aligned the handle & said everything has been done. After few days again the bike started to pull towards right & starts to wobble whenever I go over small potholes or road filled with continuous potholes. Now I really have no idea what is causing the problem & I cannot leave my bike in service center for whole day. Has anyone had the same or similar problem? What is the solution to this problem?

              • Long list of repairs suggested for Dazzler. Need help.

                Hi All,

My 2011 Dazzler has clocked 43k, i have observed that after completing 1500 KMs of usage after service, there is drastic decrease in oil level. Today i gave my dazzler for service after 2500km and only 300-400ml oil came out and there was some black suit from the exhaust.. The mechanic suggested my to go in for replacements of

                1. Piston bore kit
                2. Valve Kit- oils seals + valves
                3. Timing chain and guides
                4. Packing Kit.

I was more inclined towards change of piston and rebore. He told me that it would not work well and suggested the above list.

I travel 60-70km per day, generally between 60-80 or stop go traffic.

Is he ripping me or is this genuine?

                Please Help.

43k is far too less for a Honda to need an engine overhaul. I assume you have checked for oil seal leaks to ensure that the oil level hasn't reduced due to it dripping like a bullet

If the engine has gone kaput, then getting the entire kit replaced is your best option. Going for a rebore is not worth it, especially if you afford the entire kit replacement. If you are planning to keep the bike for some more time, change the kit, if you are planning to sell off and buy something else, then find the cheapest option and sell it off asap!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot. I have not found any oil leakage. I park my bike at the same place.

Update: my bike just drank 500ml oil in less than 1000km. I believe i will have to go in for a bore-piston replacement. what parts do i need to change in addition to the bore and piston?

                    • Re: Airfilter Change - Honda Dazzler

Thanks. I own a CB Unicorn(not Dazzler) and this http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...a-dazzler.html is really helpful for me. One question though, i got my bike serviced once and the ASC guy said he cleaned the air filter! But even my bike has the sticker under the seat that forbids cleaning of the filter. So my question is , can running the bike with a "cleaned" air filter cause dirt to enter the engine? Does the filter become useless if someone cleans it?

                      • Stratring Trouble: Nearly frustrated

                        Hi,
I have been using my dazzler for the last 5 years and for the last 1 year I am having trouble in starting up my bike after long idle(mostly in the morning and late evening when leaving from office).

When I press the self-start, the bike starts in a second but I need to leave the bike to run in idle without giving any acceleration. If I give even a little acceleration, the bike engine ceases as if there in no petrol to burn. I can feel that the engine is struggling to run and takes 2-3 minutes before it feels smooth.

Can anybody help me in telling what could be the reason how can it be fixed as it is making me really frustrated. Everyday when I start my bike, I just stare at my speedometer controlling myself not to pull the accelerator.

And I have another issue but that doesn't occur often. While on the run, the bike suddenly struggles to accelerate as if it is time to pull the reserve knob, but if I rev it continuously, it comes back to normal. If I leave it without revving, it switches off and doesnt start. I just need to walk my bike for sometime and then voila!!! the bike starts as if there is no problem.

I would kindly appreciate anyone giving me slightest clue on why I am getting this
                        1) Starting trouble, should leave the engine to heat up and should not accelerate till then
                        2) Hiccups during journey as if the petrol is gonna end, but recovers automatically.

Note:## I have cleaned the carburetor many times and nearly emptied my tank and cleaned it with a cloth suspecting water could be there inside but still the issue persists. Also have changed the spark plug, the adaptor too..

The cold RPM is a little below 1(0.6~0.8) and in a minute it reaches one. The hot RPM is nearly at 1.5 when the engine is completely smooth except the occasional hiccups I think because of less fuel which I have no idea why it happens during the travel.

600 rpm difference clearly shows lean mix , next time while having hiccups engage/pull in choke and see if performance improves. It should.
