  • Can anybody tell me what happens if we give our bikes to Servicing before the prescribed mileage is completed?

My bike was supposed to be given for servicing between 500-750 or 30th June (whichever earliest). But i gave it exactly when it completed 400kms by that date. There were a few vibes before first service and in Low RPM it kinda sounded like the new UCE Royal enfields , but the mileage was incredible (Upto 61 in city, average 56 )

After the 1st service, The bike is butter smooth no vibes at any point. I rode it at a speed of 80kmph yesterday for the first time, no vibes, Everything was normal, I was feeling fearless and confident riding it there but i thought, it's run-in period yet and slowed down.

But the mileage has taken a steep drop! I'm wonderin what the HASS guys did! Did they eat the piston or what? After the first service i never got the efficiency above 40kmpl! This time it was horrible, i got 52km mileage for 100rs petrol (1.4 liters) and 31km for 50rs petrol (0.7 liters)

What the heck did they do to my bike for such a steep drop?!!!

And this time the servicing is on 2500-3000km or July 25th (whichever earliest) but i have only completed about 700km (684km to be precise).

    • screeching sound when i use rear brakes

      Hey guys,

Just completed 350kms on my new dazzler. It's giving a mileage around 46kmpl in city. Every thing is going smooth.

      Apart from
      1. speedo meter, which vibrates a lot. I'll ask mechanic to pack it up.
      2. When ever i hit rear brakes it's giving screeching sound guys can you please help me out with this.
      3. Apart from this are there any issues that needs to be addressed when i give my bike for first service [ at 600km ].

        1) Speedo vibrates during only idling (atleast on mine)! Even if it does while you ride, it's not gonna affect the ride quality.

        2) Wipe your discs everytime you see even a little dirt on it (I wipe and idle my bike everyday in the morning)

        3) Actually none! But after the 1st service i had a steep mileage drop, Before 1st service i used to get an average 55kmpl and once i got 61kmpl! Now it's around 40-45, hasn't crossed that after 1st service I completed about 700kms now.

Perhaps there's no lubrication to the rear discs, it's empty or jammed or perhaps the disc pad is worn out or most probably it's because there's rain where you ride and the water is coming between the pads and the disc to create such noise!

Ever tried to stick your hands tight on a glass with wet hands? Heard that sound?

My bike's new so, there is no chance of disc pad being worn out, there's no rain here either. I'll go to service center and will have it checked out today ...

The screeching sound from brake is due to dirty brake pads and not beacuse of the disk.Even if there is no rain u might have taken your bike though a pothole or some source of water on road because of which sand and dirt might have entered into your disk pads.Clean them and the screeching noise would be gone.

                      • Guys,

My chain is very rusty here and there... I think its time for a lube.. next service is only @ 2500 kms and i have done 1200 kms ... havent lubed yet after first service @ 600 kms...

I inquired abt OKS lube here in my locale .. Couldn get it.. he showed me some Ruslick brand... Does anyone know where to get it in chennai?

Also, am planning to give my bike for water wash.. so should i lube (first apply de-greaser wait for sometime and then apply lube - is this right?) before water wash or after water wash??

The chain is very very rusty (

                          Hi,
Why dont you try Motul Chain Clean spray and Chain Lube it costs around Rs 450 each and its very effective. Do try this.
Lube it afer the water wash. Do this every 500kms

Instead a quick and more realiable way is to use Double side tape with 0.5 mm Thickness which is used in car for various purpose. will cost you only 5 -10 rupees for one meter long tape

it can be used to minimize or remove the vabiration from any fiber part making noise. also it is so thin that it will not hampper the lock's
Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead..

                              Hi Guys,

I am elated and bubbling with excitement to get my 1st bike. I booked the red dazzling beauty yesterday and am awaiting delivery on Sunday.

I would like to thank you all, for your reviews. They were a great help in my purchase. Could someone please let me know what are the fundamental maintenance tips and tricks, break-in cautions etc.
