    • Hey guys i brought my Dazzler day before yesterday and I'm loving it
The bike is very comfortable and shift is very smooth.
      1. Can you guys let me know the top speed & highest rpm rate that i'm not supposed to exceed till first and second service ?
      2. Can anyone please tell me rpm at which I'm supposed to shift gear during this time.
      3. Is Teflon coating necessary ?

        Congratulations!!

        1. Do not exceed 5k rpm and 50 kmph initially for first 500 kms, and then 6k rpm and 70 kmph for next 500 kms, and then as you wish.
        2. Optimal shifting rpm for gears is 4.5k
        3. Teflon Coating is debatable. If you can, go ahead.

        • sound and brake....

          Hi all,

Seriously its very good to read this forum.. Loads of knowledge sharing happens here.. Thanks to all of u..

My dazz has run 800 kms till date. 1 st service done at 550 kms.
was maintaining 4.5k rpm 50 kmph max before first service with occasional bursts...

But today i think i seriously put her into a big trouble. Had a chance to travel around 80 km in a clean highway.. The road was also so tempting and vehicle free.. Took her @ 6k rpm 75-80 kmph (mostly 75kmph)...

After this i feel the sound from the silencer has increased a bit. None of my frnds have dazz.. so couldn compare sound of other dazz's...

          1. Is the increased sound because of the speed ?? Really worried..

I feel the back disc is rubbing the rotor. I told it to the service guy and he claimed there is no such possibility.. I was feeling foolish after trying to explain this to him. And was really pissed off when he said there is no possibility of brakes rubbing rotor in disc brakes. Only in drum brakes it is possible.. ??!!

The real thing is, when i put her on the main stand and rotate the back wheel, I hear a brake pad rubbing sound at one particular point of the rotor..

          2. Is there any ways to move the shoes away from the rotor a bit by adjusting some screws on the disc brake or so?

            • Regarding the rear disc sound, some sand or mud might have entered in between. It will go away soon as you ride further. If still not satisfied, just take out the disc pads, rub with sand paper.

Varun, do not worry that you have taken the bike to high speeds. Occasional high speeds are good for the bike. Regarding the silencer sound, the exhaust note of the Dazzler is deeper in general. If you find any other sound apart from exhaust note, contact the service center.

              • Ravi,

The SC guys told they cleaned the disc ... Even after first service i am getting the same amt... My worries are that the back Disc rotor is getting hotter than the front one (though i use brakes very occassionally and mostly both brakes at same time).

Also, this will affect my mileage directly, isnt it ??

Disc heating is very much normal. Nothing will happen to the disc even if the pads are touching. Wait for a few more hundred kikometers. It will slowly go away. If you are still not satisfied, go to a good mechanic shop outside, take out the disc pads and rub with sand paper, under your supervision.

This is a peculiar problem/worry faced by many. Even I have felt many times. As there is no general rule on how much the rear wheel should rotate once you apply certain amount of force it's kind of difficult to understand the problem. Generally, try rotating the rear wheel with a decent force. If it's getting locked up soon then the pads might be too tight on the disc. If it's so, then the disc will heat up very fast & enormously. It will create drag resulting inslightly lower mileage too.

                      • A new bike's pad will rub against the disk plate and it is quite normal for all bikes and the sound will go after some kms. When coming to heat, as ravi@17bhp said,Disc heating is very much normal.Even tires will get hotter after a ride.Nothing to worry about these things.

Once I touched R-15's front disc just after one hard braking. I still can't forget it, that burn was there 10 days.
