Was just saying that some say Reserve to Reserve measurement is not accurate but that was the only method I could use since the other way requires you to top up to full.
I wanted to know what is "Reserve to reserve" These questions are turning out to be too foolish!

That is fine dude. Reserve to Reserve means you have filled up fuel immediately or shortly after you went into Reserve (had to turn the fuel knob)... then you zeroed your trip meter and measured the distance till you went into reserve again.

Its not accurate because due to inclines or other road factors, WHEN a bike goes into reserve might vary slightly.

What are the mileages obtained for your respective Dazzlers? Please quote here!
the best method to check the mileage is reserve to reserve...when your bike goes to reserve fill your bike and set your trip meter to 0.0 km and also remember the liters of petrol that goes in.....when your bike goes to reserve again take note of km that you have run in and divide that by liters of petrol that you filled in......

you'll get your mileage... just a piece of advice try filling your bike in morning or at night as the temp will be low so you can get a bit of extra petrol as they expand and evaporate rapidly in daytime.....

m using Shell super after using (xtra premium & BP Speed) i noticed the drastic change in my pickup and the mileage...m getting a mileage of 62 KMPL in a city such as Hyderabad....m telling you it works....

        • rpm and speed to be maintained on a new Dazzler

All: I got the new black beast home last evening. When the mechanic at the dealer delivered it to me, he explained me the different features but when I asked him the optimal rpm (for better mileage) and speeds that need to be maintained before the first, second ++ services, he couldnt answer me. Can anyone let me know what are these numbers based on your experience..?

          Thanks

            • I cleaned my bike's chain yesterday using diesel & lubed it using TVS chain lube.

While I was carrying this out, I noticed that if the bike is on main-stand with the rear wheel rotating freely and I engage a gear, the wheel rotates even if the clutch is pressed.

Is this normal or do I need to get the clutch adjusted ?

This is quite normal. Almost every bike out there does it! If the wheel spins while in neutral or in a gear with the clutch pressed, but can be easily stopped by putting a hand on it, it's completely normal.

But if it is kind of hard to stop by hand and the bike pulling with the clutch engaged, there should be an adjustment to the clutch tension which needs clutchplates and springs to be replaced!

Rear wheel spinning is cold oil and little lubrication of the clutch plates and transmission assembly during warm up. After a good hard run it shouldn't do that. Check whether your rear wheel spins after a good hard ride! If it still does, then adjust the clutch carefully. Reducing the clutch free play a bit probably resolve it!

Sorry to be fuzzy but I just want to take good care of the vehicle. Is the 4-4.5k until the first service or until some kms are reached..? after that, can it go up - if so, how much rpm for how many kms..? Also, i remember reading in the thread somewhere that changing gears at 4-4.5k rpm is good - is this a general statement..?

                  • bigg trouble

hey guys i am in very big trouble. My dazzy met with a accident, couple of days back. A blind bike rider hit my dazzy from rear.As a result lance of tail light (red one) got cracked and now my dazzy's tail light is naked.

And the issue is that i am not getting it from anywhere. I am basically from Delhi and also inquired about it in Noida as well as Faridabad dealers. But they don't have a single piece of spare part for dazzler.

Can anybody tell me from where i can get that one...

I would really advice you turn the ignition off during any operation. I am saying this from my own experience. I now have only a half of my right hand's middle finger due this type of foolish work.

                        Oh that's nasty ..

No mate I wasn't anywhere near the chain when the engine was running. I was standing next to the bike. I had just applied the lube and ran the engine (on idle) to get the lube to penetrate the chain-links and sprockets properly.

Oh I see, yes it was rotating slowly but started spinning faster when I clicked to higher gears (2,3,4) which makes sense...

I could stop it with my hand but I could feel the force. I will try it when the bike is warm, thanks !

                          • Guys, we (me + wifey) are planning a Mumbai (Dombivali actually) trip tomorrow (~160kms from Pune).

Anything I should check in the bike before I leave ? I have cleaned and lubed the chain yesterday and I rode the bike to work today to make sure there were no issues.

Also, has anyone ridden a two wheeler from Pune - Mumbai (via the Old Bombay-Pune highway) ? Anything I need to remember or is it a fairly straightforward route ?

Will be carrying the camera and taking snaps. Will also do a write-up on how the bike performed during the tour.

                              • After 3 months of happy ride, I met with a small issue in my Dazzler . My Dazzler's seat got loosen. I don't know how it happened. It often sounds a bit whenever I ride in uneven roads. Anybody had ever faced this issue before?
