i had an interaction with pratul honda today (they have set up a camp at yousufguda checkpost providing free checkups/oil topups , exchanges, enquiry etc)
they told me if u pay full cash you can get the stunner/dazzler & unicorn in 1hr

what do they mean by Modify the bike? New design? internals? or do they mean repair?

In hyderabad almost i covered all showrooms, some of them are having 2011 manufactured in pratul & fortune motors. i made booking in orange honda tolichowki, so after a long period(31days), they told me that they cant deliver the vehicle and not even assured about the waiting period for the vehicle and told me that company is going for modifications. Atlast with lot of disappointment i bought p150.

Honda showrooms are the worst among all...

Dont know buddy, I even kept a mail for the company about the same but no reply, so just contact your dealer in your area.

i am not sure about the stock of the dazzler, but a colleague of mine had to wait 3 months to get his CB Unicorn (booked in late Dec '11, got it in March '12)
unfortunately your comment on their showroom & service is true to very large extent.. even when i was interacting with them a few days ago at their camp and took the quotation for a unicorn n stunner , i told them about no claim bonus on my insurance which would enable me to get 50% off on the new bike insurance and they were adamant that there is no such thing and told me 'please check it first no such thing exists' - i felt like slapping that guy right there , and then i ask them for a test ride just for the heck of it and they dint have any test ride vehicles even though there was a board/counter that said 'TEST RIDE'. i wonder if they are 'TEST RIDING' customers patience.

I wonder if you can find any showroom which give TR for unicorn/ activa! yes you can find less moving models like Dazzler and Twister and newbies like DY for test ride and they promote TR for that models too!

when I went to the Showroom in South Mumbai Jhaveri Honda it was a 45 day waiting period (30 days for regular unicorn) ..only a Gold Bike was avaible but it was 5 months old..but the day I went to book.. they said a two new bikes have been unloaded from the factory and their manufactured in sept ...so my bike is ready for collection going on sunday to get it.


@somen yeah lol I need to chill out..get a little tense as my friend who bought a pulsar 150 as his first bike did not put\replace oil properly and his engine got damaged permanently.

Do follow the speed limit for a good breakin to avoid engine damages, like your friend had with p150. Enjoy the ride...!!

My Dazzler has done 29k till now, 1500kms done after the last service.Its running on Shell semi synthetic oil.
Problems:
1.Bike feels very harsh to run most of the time (even during morning). Throttle response has gone down a bit.
I am not sure what might be the problem.

Sometime back i had idling problem,i.e when the engine gets hot,rpm will shoot upto 1800rpm from 1200rpm,so engine sounded harsh.Based on some advice from posts here,I asked the mechanic to turn the air mixture screw anti clockwise so that it does not run lean.
After this idle problem solved but mileage has dropped from 52 to 48-49 range.
Is this something to do with the harsh engine?

2.Rear shocks has become very stiff.Today i got a chance to ride as pillion and it felt even worse when sitting in the back seat.
Mechanic is advising me to change the shocks,Will the shocks become weak after 28k kms itself?
I have a feeling that this has something to do with the new r15 tyre, i have changed recently.

These people at the Delivery point are saying that your insurance papers and octroi are come but RTO papers will take few more days..and their saying that they have no Dazzler product manual..and have no idea when it will be available..can you guys tell me what to do in this case

Last weekend,I took Dazzler for a 400km trip.i.e Chennai-Ambur-nearbyplaces-Chennai.
Ride was awesome.Honda engine felt refined all the way(It feels very harsh most of the times when riding in city).
Its low saddle height is a big plus for manoevering and control.
I did not feel any tiredness at all but i got neck pain riding it for long time.I guess i need to pull the handlebar a little towards me to avoid this pain.
Seat is a bit hard,so your bum will start paining as the number of hours on the saddle starts increasing.
Average speed maintained:85-95kmph with occasional bursts upto 115kmph.
Mileage for the entire trip is 49.5kmpl.
My city mileage is also more or less similar.

Little history about my bike.
I sold my bangalore registered Pulsar 200 for 25k (Desperate sale to avoid police hassles) and was looking for either Dazzler or SZ-R.Since i sold my well maintained pulsar 200 for 25k,I had no choice but to find a good 2nd hand TN bike.
Luckily i found 2010 Dazzler 22k kms done for 42k and 2011 Yamaha SZ-R 7000kms done for 40k.
Even though SZ-R was the better deal,i opted for Dazzler due to my love with Unicorn engine and also this digital speedo and rear disc brakes.
I have completed 7000kms in the last 8months:
Things/parts/mods i have changed so far:
1.Rear tyre to Yamaha r15 tyre. 100/80 R17 i guess.
2.HID 35W (same as A-Blaze mentioned in some precious posts) Low beam has a feeble yellow light and high beam gives powerful white llight. (Costed 1500rs)
3.Chain sprocket
4.Handlebar twice.
5.Shell semi synthetic oil
6.Both the disc pads
7.Coneset needs to be changed soon
8.Rectifier (Thanks to lot of posts here,service guys did not have a clue even after some 7visits.i forced them to change rectifier and the starting problem solved).

Now my only major grouse is the rear shocks,It feels very stiff,For pillion rider,its even more stiff.
Is it some sort of a defective piece because only few members have this problem and others are feeling Ok with it.
Pulsar 200 gas shocks was awesome. Dazzler shocks is more or less equal to Fiero shock absorbers.

Hey Guys please help me out I'm enjoying riding the bike its handing is unbelievable breaks are very "progressive"...but I'm not sure I'm riding properly (gear shifting wise)
When I start the bike my bike starts moving just with clutch in 1st gear without using accelerator like a car ? If I start my bike like this will it cause damage to my gear/engine?
If I do this in stop go traffic just to move forward slowly is good or bad..what do you guys do..

Any tips on how and when to change gears will be most welcome

Also sometimes when your at a slower speed and in 2nd gear it becomes harsh and stalls abruptly why does this happen..and can this happen at a higher gear..I always have that feeling at the back of my mind ok this happened at 10kmh will it happen at 50-60 if I dont change gears properly? So far It just happened in second gear when going slow...

basically tell me why does the bike stall and how to prevent it..its very embarrassing..and its so weird because even though Mumbai is a place where people are so busy you just stall once and everyone just stares at you and starts asking you stuff and passing comments..even if your not disrupting traffic

It is normal, just check your chokes are off and rpm resting at ~1.4 when engine is hot.


Normal conditions, up-shif between 3.5 and 4.2k rpm! downshift when it falls under 3.5-3k rpm. (Eyes on road not on the console!)

Bike stalls because you are one/ more gear up and don't feel shy to shift to 1st in slow moving traffic.

Basically all these niggles goes off gradually as you gain experience and knowledge on your ride and as a rider.
