Since the side wall height decreases there is less play for flexing making the ride slightly on the stiffer side, further a thinner contact patch also means that more of the road imperfections will be transferred to the rider, on the one hand this makes for better feedback, on the other hand it makes the ride stiffer on bad indian roads.

And air leak when you go down a size in width is common problem with tubeless tyres. Keeping the rims same you can go at most one width size more, that too only of it does not hit some part of the bike. For example in RTR160s putting in even one size thicker tyre results in the tyre hitting the chain guard!

I think the better option is to stick to stock sizes but buy tyres with better and softer compounds for good grip like going in for Michellins/Pirellis/Dunlops etc. Have heard that ContiGo is good never seen it in person ever though, wonder if it is available in bglr.
    Sorry for the late response.
Yes ride quality has taken a beating with this tyre. regarding the grip,I am not sure because there are couple of time my bike seems to skid when i attempt to make a quick turn.
I guess front tyre might be the culprit but thread looks good for another 5000kms.
One dealer near my house has 90/80-17 FY1 tyre in stock but not the 80/90- 17. He told he can get this tyre in a couple of days..Price will be around 2300rs.

Regarding the contigo tyre..Here is the link. Please check it out.

    • Its an excellent bike. Its mileage is really superb. It gives around 50-52 kmpl on highway which is excellent for 150 cc bikes segment. It is developed with a large number of advanced features which gives it a upper hand to Dazzler.

Hey sry did not see this before. There can be various reasons for the wobbling. Incorrect air pressure, excess load, bad roads, bent rim, incorrect wheel alignment, loose or worn cone set bearings etc. Most of these things are easy to check by just looking at the wheels. Also just show at the service centre and ask their person to take a ride and see the wobbling, they might be able to correct it. Also at what speed do you experience wobbling? Does this happen on straight road or when you are leaning into a turn?

Well even I get mileage between 45-50 only. I have gotten a max of 51, then my engine was stock. After joelling the mileage decreased, now I have never gotten more than 48 but yeah generally my mileage fluctuates about 43-48 depending on how I am riding.

On sustained highway runs at 87 (6500rpms) I get a mileage of dot 40 consistently (have checked this over some 2000 kms so I am confident of this value).

I read somewhere in this forum maybe this thread that after joeling their bike mileage and performance has been increased?

Last week I changed my rear tyre, it's clocked 30,500km - not bad mileage for the stock one I think. The new one installed is Zapper VYDE 120-80. They struggled a bit to insert this tyre into chasis. The real difficulty was to install back the rear disc brake, they struggled for one and a half hours to install it. 120 is a bit extra wide for Dazzler. There is only half inch gap between chain and tyre now. Now it is a new chain, but when it get loosened there is a chance it may touch the tyre. However, the bike looks dazzling the the rear now

Awesome man, great to hear that..!! I also want to upgrade to Vyde 120/80... was always wondering whether it will fit properly. Good to know that with some effort it is a success story. You say there is half an inch gap between chain and tyre, so do you still have the black chain cover or have you removed it or cut out a portion of it?

I am sure the rear would be looking properly awesome with the 120 section tyre, would be great if you could upload a few pics of the same... Pls do try and upload some pics, even if its from cell phone its ok...

here in nanded i could find only rolon chain spray which is fo x ring and o ring...will it be good?

Or another option is that i will ask my brother from pune to get lube of oks from pune...

I had serviced the chain only 2 times.
The lube costs almost same rice as the chain then its bttr to change the chain sooner right.
The service centr guys had advised chain change at 15k kms my odo now reads 27500 and still running on stock chain and it isnt loose:what:

I think Rolon chain spray should be ok. Rolon is the OEM supplier of chains and sprockets for most of the Indian bikes. So a chain lube spray from them should be fine. I personally use Yamalube Chain Spray which was Rs250/- for 400 ml. It is ok, generally lasts till 400 kms then spray again. I think it is more important to spray lube regularly rather than which brand of lube you use. One application every 300-400 kms works best for me. And it literally takes less than 2 minutes to spray.

I have actually never heard of OKS, from what reports I got people say that Motul Chain lube is good but there is another product called Tribocor TC40 which is supposed to be the best chain lube.

For degreasing you can use WD40 (I use the same, but it is costly since you need a lot of degreaser), however I have recently shifted to Diesel for degreasing and cleaning. What I do is first spray WD40 and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, WD40 being a good penetrator loosens up the grime. Then I use diesel in a normal spray bottle and spray and wipe the grime away. After this I just wash the chain with running water, result is you get a chain looking BRAND NEW..!! After this, let everything dry. Spray Chain Lube - let the lube dry for ATLEAST 30 minutes (otherwise it just flings away). I clean the chain maybe every 1500 kms or so.

Getting that kind of mileage from the chain is awesome..!! The max I heard was 25000 kms. My own chain went bad at 15000kms thanks to bad maintenance on my part. And the chain + sprocket set costs about Rs1800/- (see my previous posts for exact pricing) whereas chain lube costs Rs250..!! How is the price same??

Awesome man, pics would be great. How is the grip from Dunlop? Have seen quite a few bikes on Dunlops now, the tread looks rugged don't know about compound. How much did it cost?

The compound is softer the zapper used to skid under hard breaks but this feels better and the slight increase in weight is a plus too
