When the throttle is closed, the engine gets enough fuel. But as you open the throttle, more air rushes in but because the pilot jet is partially clogged, enough fuel cannot enter the engine and this leans out the mix and hence the fall in rpms. As you open throttle further more air starts sucking petrol from main jet which is free and unclogged. The air fuel mixture is restored and thus the engine rpms jump to 4000 and beyond. You should be seeing the jump start from 3200rpms and up since thats where the carb shifts from pilot to main in dazzler. This may be the cause of your problem from my judgement and common sense. In any case your problem is carb related. A good carb cleaning will help. Others can advise further and correct me.
Thanks a lot for your very detailed response. What would be the cost involved for carb cleaning? Would that be covered under warranty? I'm using Shell AX7 10W40 SS oil, which is against their warranty policy. Will they be touching that part of the engine which makes it noticeable?

Carb cleaning is not covered under warranty and comes as general maintanance for which labour is charged. If you are under free service or Annual Maintanance Contract then labour wont be charged anyway. The ASC people generally dont open the complete carb unless it is absolutely necessary. They simply unscrew the bowl and take out the jets to clean them. Hopefully that should be enough. And they wont be touching the engine so dont worry about the engine oil... dont really know how much they will charge...

When in neutral, I slowly open throttle, the RPM falls down to less then 1000 and bike behaves as if it is going to stall. While continuing to open throttle very slowly, suddenly the RPM shoots from 1000 to around 4000.

This issue is causing pickup problems while riding the bike and the bike suddenly jerks while riding when there is RPM shootup.

I have already got the spark plug checked at a local garage and that guy even adjusted something near the throttle. But my bike still behaves almost the same, there is a marginal improvement though. What could be the issue?

My bike is completely stock condition without any modifications.
Check your AIR Compartment underseat. This should be free from anything..

That's the first thing I checked when this problem started . There are no obstructions.

I think this problem is becoming more common with the new viscous paper air filter.

            • Steering Bearings / Cone set

Can somebody provide me with the bearing sizes (OD X ID X W) of the cone set bearings or the alternate bearing number which would be available in the market. I am looking for an alternate to those provided by Honda. If anybody has gone through this process, it would be of help to me.

why are you so tensed ?? When you get your bike, you will get a manual too which will help you with it.

Specially if you are not a racer kind person, then what difference does it makes if you change it with smooth acceleration etc....avoding crosssing 60kmph +

Being in 40-60kmph till running kms, it might be close to 1k, but check it.

Tip: Don't race your bike unnecessarily!! Don't brake hard, avoid running most on 1-2 gear and get change your engine oil air filter and oil filter mandatorily and note all the issues in a paper you see while run in period and get it resolved by 1st service!!

Just go to any shops and ask for hero honda GLAMOR racer set. They are same.
You can get SKF or PINKY, cone set. Also you can use OE HERO GLAMOR racer set.

The OE Honda racer set is sub standard, dont know about Hero, however there would not be any significent difference if any, I guess. On any visit to the ASC I always see at least one if not more cone sets being replaced, the quality of materials used has gone down drastically. My 12 year old CBZ with the original steering bearings has better handeling than my 18 month dazzler. I would have liked to use a tapper roller bearing as compared to the balls provided. The reason for putting the query here was so that I could figure out the bearing prior to my opening up the steering, however I could open it up and then try for the alternate or else just use the OE if there is no option available. Thanks for the inputs.

I have advised you to use SKF cone set for glamor. Regarding the cone set, yes quality have gone down the drains. It is a method by which companies makes profit.
Go for SKF cone set for glamor.
In my Joy i use TOP company racer set which cost a mere Rs.100 and last near 25k in my ride which includes everyday off-roading. But recently i used OE racer set and they got bad at 10k. Most people think that OE is the best quality but sadly this was before 2006 and not now.
In my Joy i have changed to SKF cone set and believe the handle feels so free and also leave the handle the bike will run straight and you can control with your body like controlling with hands.
Use SKF and see the difference.

Got the issue fixed today. Gave it for a paid service at the ASC and mentioned this issue alongwith the tachometer backlit issue that I had mentioned some threads back. For backlit issue, first they insisted that that is the default way of how the backlit lights up on dazzlers i.e. no light or flickering light between 0 and 3 which is absolute ridiculous and the guy don't even know that the speedometer is powered by battery so no flickering can occur. I finally lost my cool and had to give them a piece of my mind. Now they have raised a part request and they said it will take 20 days to get the part and I will be intimated about the same.

Really dissatisfied with the ASC located at Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra. Some months back there was battery problem with my bike and only after insisting them about the problem of leaking electrolyte they replaced the battery and didn't even care to give a standby battery for time being. I guess I'll have to look some good local garage or search for a next nearby ASC.

Had u booked the vehicle?? coz i made a booking for the same, they assured me that they can deliver the vehicle with in 20 days in hyderabd, around 45 days back. at last they failed to deliver the vehicle by saying that the dazzler is goin to be modified by the company and it may take long time for delivery. So make it clarified by the showroom guys..
