  • "We have understood that this bike will not be sufficient for next year. In my tests with the 1000cc GP12 I was a little bit sower than today's front runners. The Ducati engineers already have all the data, and they are working to solve the problems with both the 800 and the 1000."
..Duc is in some deep sh*t, they need to do something....quickly.., frame/engine whatever...

    Gp11=>Gp11.1 doesn't seem like a joke now....

Things will definitely flare up after the summer break if results & podium don't come by.

Good to see the new iteration of Yamaha with JL's input doing well. Further this year CS is becoming a smart racer by going for podiums when he can't win rather to bin it as in the past, when he run's into trouble. Honda are also smart in trying to experiment a few things early on ( that didn't go their way today) to seek more performance without damaging the power train. Further learn from it and not to repeat the mistakes from what they learnt.

Unlike others, Honda are looking very healthy on the engine usage for the rest of the season when compared with Factory Yamaha (or) Ducati. Plus more of Casey's favourite tracks coming after the second half, Honda are not too much worried about the Championship at the moment & would pour more resources to win this 800cc class at any cost if needed. I wouldn't be surprised with team orders being enforced by them after the second half (or) may be from the next race ... who knows.

        Cheers - TZ750
Team Orders I sure hope not. Dovi has started showing his true colors this season only and shouldn't be suppressed like this.
In post race conference also he mentioned that the Championship is still open and he wants to go for it.

Ducati seems to be in dire straits. It is clear that the inherent faults in the bike be it GP11, 11.1 or 12 cannot be solved just by a race weekend setup.
The article by motomatters.com on sunday's race says that Rossi's team increased the height of the bike by 20mm without changing the wheelbase and it has not affected the rear grip but still the front end issues are there; as Rossi said "Ducati - Baby steps"

The team is trying but the result just aren't coming through.

        • last year too when the stoner started to win races, he said that he raised the height and he did it bit by bit each race. So hope rossi direction is right!

Team orders I dont think so it will surface, we r still at mid season. if a crash by stoner and the championship is wide open!

infact I thought about this....That it was the combination of Furusawa and Rossi that saw yamaha through...and maybe Preziosi needs to rethink the Design...

Although its kinda early for discussing team orders.....I believe they won't stop Dovi if he is a championship contender...., Dani P might be a different scenario though...it is unlikely that he would challenge for championship...and he would be fast enough to challenge for victory often..., still something tells me...Honda wouldn't give team orders....

Dovi's biggest challenge is to outpace his teammate(s)...particularly when they are not handicapped by fitness/bike issues.

            • team orders? with Dovi 3rd in the championship... it wouldn't be fair.

Sic can be instructed to take out Lorenzo in a few more races tho.

VR & JB were a huge part of the M1's success.

a win on the M1 at the first race race of the season...
on what was considered the crappest bike on the grid in 2003.
AND winning agaisnt Gibernau & Biaggi on the then all powerful RC211V's

              why can't history repeat itself?!?

i still believe Rossi will deliver tho... tick tick tick.

LOL! Sic's being used as a hitman to take out the competition.

Since we are going back in the memory lane, back in 2004 (or mid 2003), Yamaha convinced Rossi that they will give a new bike to him which Furusawa had designed. Furusawa had the M1 designed and he said they need Rossi to ride it and develop it further. It wasn't the crappy yamaha, which used to be 20 second off the best timing, that they showed him and signed him. Furusawa had Rossi convinced with his commitment towards the project.
Rossi and JB then worked on it and brought it to the competitive level. In 2007 since the 800s the development again went berserk and they brought to the level it is now.

Spies did a good job too, racing along with simoncelli is not easy and that too beating him . If only Rossi had a good start today we might have seen him fighting with the front runners. Overall an awesome race but sadly without rossi in the equation.
                    I completely agree here
stoners vulnerability is exposed again! if he is thrown a challenge by rossi /lorenzo/dovi..he flounders and then he moans about tyres

stoner did however after the race he claimed it was down to poor advice from Bridgestone etc etc.

Now this may very well be the case BUT history shows that Casey does have the penchant for making the odd excuse here and there whenever things don't quite go his way.

some of the moves were dangerous is what stoner had said after loosing Lagunaseca on which rossi said about what all moves were clean, no touching and this is racing

Vale not testing but most others are. Maybe Honda test 1000. Yamaha not testing at all.
Couldn't get my phone working to film it. No punches as there where many mechanics in the way but lots of shoving and shouting. Funny funny.
Not sure why I guess stoner was pissed as he didn't have the track all to himself. Maybe he thought it was a private test.

                        • Dont be in a hurry to take anything away from Jorge ! The guy is a world champion and for the last two races he has proven his mettle. You ain't thinking that he has no hand in developing a bike are you ? Yamaha stuck to Jorge..do you think they would if he didn't know how to develop a bike ?

I think Dovi and Lorenzo don't get enough credit for being what they are !

Rightly said! Dovi seemed to go a bit out of his way in this race (leaving the bike and running towards his fan section ) or maybe because his points were counted for the first time from the front for the Honda team or maybe both.

Did I mention he beat Stoner?

But dont like Stoner at all. Stoner races just for himself. To be in front from the start and till the finish.
I read somewhere, dont remember where, Rossi once said that fans come to watch interesting races, and thats why he used to race in that manner.
