I was really shocked by the move of Alvaro Bautista which cost Jorge 25 points he would have challenged the Repsol boys easily and also lost a new engine fitted previous day....
Spies is not finding the pace at some point he is running wide trying a different line.... I think Cal would have challenged Repsol boys if he wouldn't run wide at turn 1 because he was the only rider who was matching the pace of front runners..

Moto 3 and Moto 2 went really went .. MotoGP a total disaster without Jorge but Ben, Dovi and Cal put up some good show...

Hayden will head to Wsbk if Ducati keep Rossi and get Cal

                • It is not a good decision for Ducati to leave consistent performing Hayden and take Cal because the master of this era MotoGP Rossi too is struggling with Ducati....
So it is not sure the super performing Cal can do wonders with Ducati as he is doing now with Yamaha... In prototype bikes Yamaha is the easy bike to adopt and Ducati is one of the difficult bike too master... So its better for Ducati to have Hayden

                  • I don't understand why Cal is hyped soo much.
I do agree that he is a great rider, but there are soo many others deserving more attention than what Cal is getting.

Dovi was asked to ride a Ducati too, but he denied it.
Last year Karel Abrahim and Cal were very evenly matched until the very last race.
Not to mention that Cal was on a Yammie and Karel was on a Ducati.

As far as the tech 3 team is concerned, Dovi gave them 2 podiums too, and Cal none.
The kinda comments Cal has put up about Hector Barbera, and his so to say overconfidence in winning a championship on a Ducati surely are the signs which decreases my respect for him every time.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

                    • ^^ Or he could be playing games to get a better deal with yamaha. Dovi has been in the biz for a long time now. This is Cal's second season. Cal has been faster than Dovi in most races, till he smashed his ankle. And is still racing racing with a damaged ankle. Last race he got punted off to last place thanks to Bautista.

Whether all this translates into success on a Ducati is well debatable!

Karel had been racing Moto2 so he was familiar with all the tracks. Cal was riding all the tracks first time in his life.

An interesting read about Electric bikes. Though I don't know where to paste it -

As it stands now, electric motorcycles are basically conventional motorcycles with batteries and motors that replace fuel tanks and engines. It is the same basic offering that we have had since the turn of the century, except with three times the cost, forty times the refuel time, and a quarter of the range. While the big hold-up for electrics, battery technology, is still advancing rapidly, at the end of the day consumers are still be making apples-to-apples comparisons between internal combustion and electric motorcycles because only the most basic elements of this new technology is being offered by electric OEMs. Even I have a hard time looking at the market, and imagining a scenario where I would grab an electric motorcycle over its internal combustion counterpart.

                      • Ducati needs an agressive rider, as the bike has shown that not even a convential Jap bike World Champions can easily master it. So they need a different breed. So the search was on!

Cal is a super sport champion and a Brit.
Yes last year he was fightling with karl Ab but this year he was upped his pace to match with Dovi.
But if you see Dovi or in fact Ped they are mostly on the same place as they were 2 years back!

                        • The More I watch races on Eurosports the more I dislike Cal(or any other brit for that matter) Bloody over-hyped.

Speaking about he's move to Ducati. I think(just me), he can do better on a ducati.
I read somewhere 'Hopper' mentioning about differences between Motogp and Wsbk riding style. In WSBK, you cant get more corner speed in comparison to Motogp Bikes, they need to pick the bike much faster than in Motogp.(Sorry I cant explain these things exactly, Bad english).
Maybe Ducati needs that kind of rider.

Another observation. Former WSBK riders are all riding a yamaha. I guess on Honda or a ducati, they might have a different results.

(These are just rookie observations, by observing/watching the race on tv, with no privileges to any other angle other than the one telecasted on the tv )

                          • Eurosport favors all the british riders.
Even while watching WSBK all they say is, how good Leon Haslam, Jonny Rea and other brit riders are.

I believe James Toseland had a stronger start in Motogp compared to Cal, directly from wsbk.
Although Ben Spies had even better.
Not to mention that those guys are WSBK world champions.
                            Let alone Colin and Nicky.

Its his attitude which is getting him where he is today.
I personally don't think that even after a factory bike, he's got what it takes to fight the aliens.

                            • That will only be found out if and when he gets on a Factory bike.

Breaking his ankle on saturday and passing his physicals by having to do stationary jumps on his broken ankle and then racing. Finishing 6th after starting from last place. Karel was commentating with Gavin Emmett and he didnt think that Cal would be able to finish the race. Yet he pushed till the last lap. Overhyped?

His chances on a Ducati - I would believe Nicky's take on it (link posted previously)

                              • Real sad to see Haydens situation. A consistent performer with a bike that is proven to be a junk. So basically his future in motogp depends upon someone who will take his place only if he does not get a ride with factory yamaha and on someone who is equally struggling and is better only w.r.t being the face of the business. Cal is good but is he worthy of replacing someone who is a former world champion and has been developing the bike for the past 5 years. Also guys like Barbera, hopkins, de puniet, Alexis espragaro to name a few have been made scapegoat due to corporate reasoning despite being better than their popular counterpart.

Imagine if the next season ducati bike develops to be a sure shot championship winning material with Cal onboard, all the years of effort put in by the current ducati riders will be for nothing. Would be much happier to see Nicki, Hector, Karel or Rossi in that situation. Ducati please retain Nicky and if rossi leaves, give Hector a chance. Rossi should lure in Suzuki or Kawasaki. Just cant see the man whos name is synonymous with motorcycle racing struggling like this.
