I think you are slightly confused between factory and satellite.Originally posted by samschenker View PostIIRC Cardion is not planning to continue with a ducati satelite bike for 2013, so there is a possibility of 3 factory bikes.
Edit: Also doesn't the rule stipulates a manufacturer can field 4 prototype bikes? And there is no hard rule to determine the number of bikes a team can run, please correct me if I am wrong.
Yes the rule is a manufacturer can field 4 prototypes. But only two can be factory bikes and two satellite.
Yes Cardion AB will most probably drop Ducati next year. Pramac might continue with Iannone at the helm and Marc VDS which is currently in Moto 2 might bring along Redding. So those will be the two satellite bikes. No three factory bikes. Three factory bikes are what Honda ran last year. Not possible anymore.
A private team can run n number of bikes. A factory team can run only two.
And twitter says that Dovi has signed with Ducati...
Everything is very 'Silly' right now!!!Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

That inside scoop should be scooped right out the window
Im fully aware of that..
in paper it is
But the satellite teams could still get FULL FACTORY support, as long as the factory team and the satellite sponsor would allow it.Last edited by phat_17; 08-08-2012, 11:18 PM.

2 factory and 2 satellite.. the only difference between the them is one team is managed by the factory itself the other isn't.Originally posted by The Monk View PostI think you are slightly confused between factory and satellite.

Who cares which bike your providing to satellite teams. You can give them factory or more than factory support if you like. No one asks you why your doing that. And even factory can run n number of bikes, it's just that only 2 can be prototypes..rest CRT
It's that same with satellite teams as well, if they have the money they can run n number of bikes..but only 2 prototypes allowed.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

He is in the verge of signing probably before Indianapolis the announcement will come officially.... The most affected person on Rossi's return to Yamaha is Dovi he is a good rider showed his potential in the satellite Yamaha...Originally posted by Shibadip View PostWhere there is smoke there is Fire.. Now he is talking with Ten Kate Honda team in WSBK..
Why Yamaha cannot give Tech 3 a factory machine for Dovi as Honda did for Marco Simoncelli in the last season.

Yeah exactly. But even a bike with full factory support doesn't get the upgrades at the same time. The bike will also be developed according to the factory riders. So on paper they are giving Full Factory Support, but in reality they won't allow a Satellite bike to be ahead of their factory bikes on a regular basis. Just cut the upgrades, detune the engine. Anything. That is why the riders want to ride for a factory team and not a satellite team to be able to win a championship...Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

so what do we make out from this article... that delay is caused by the aquisition by audi. and now since it is done, developments will happen at breathtaking pace... huh...Originally posted by The Monk View Post
just for audit, no company stops all its spendings. it doesn't happen that way. how will the company survive? even during audit all essential expenses have to be met.
and even if we agree that audit was preventing funding/spending.... there are always ways and means to fund from a different channel. what was the main sponsor doing... they could have funded the development through it.
there was a clear lack of willingness.
they take one year to understand and accept the fact that they need to develop a new bike to be compititive. and then half year is wasted to sell yourself to audi. what are they saying... now with everything sorted out-2013 will have a compititive bike
well if they can do it-good luck, but you cant play with somebody's career just because you are paying him.

That just means there is more to Ducati's failure than meets the eye. Like Hayden said, this is the best Ducati he has ridden. He should know he has been with ducati for a long time now.
