yamaha factory to use seamless gearbox at misano race weekend.

the news was a well kept secret till the pre-event press conference where it was officially announced (lorenzo was asked and then he confirmed).

eager to see how much it really helps the M1 in a race environment (according to rossi, it doesnt really improve the lap time much but certainly is significantly better in the full race and for helping save a little more tyre for the end).

Fuel tank over. I want to see Caldog whining over seamless shift gearbox now.

Yep, but that would start from next race once he's seen what the Yamaha can do with seamless gearshift.

But my personal view is that the M1 is still not close to beating the RC213V. It actually depends on the rider. Jorge can only win again because of his own skills and talent, not because of the bike he rides. Any rider at the moment can take a faster lap around most of the circuits on a Honda instead of the M1.

Lets see, I'm sure this will definitely make the racing more interesting for us.

The test at Brno was positive and yet, they chose not to use the new gearbox asap. A bit of testing at the factory for fine tuning could be a possibility. Or may be, both manufacturing and testing.

The testing was positive for sure, but not 100% I think..there was this novice video someone posted where Rossi stalled the bike due to the gearbox. Although that wasn't confirmed, but the engine was still running, but gear wasn't engaging. So since I have that last impression of the gearbox, I still don't feel 100% confident about the gearbox being reliable. So for me the race will be important to show what the gearbox can do.

yeah lol, very soon cal is probably gonna start constantly talking about how the lack of seamless is disadvantaging him. i like him but he mouths off a bit too much sometimes. still like his humour though and has indeed done a great job aboard the satellite M1.

as for M1's improvement, yeah as stated in the last 2-3 races by both lorenzo and rossi, the most important thing to improve in their bikes according tro them is the ability and stability of the bike to brake harder (so that probably means changing/adjusting the forks, front suspension and other aspects of the chassis to be able to do that)..sure the seamless, if it works right, would help them eventually in the long run of a race (as rossi said), but it's the RCV's stronger braking and drive that is proving difficult for lorenzo to consistently fight with the repsols..indeed it's primarily because of jorge's skill that he is able to do whatever he's able to do against the repsols at the moment, and even to be able to run with them he said a few races ago he's having to be really pushing and right at the limit all the time, which again puts extra stresses on the engine (amidst the already troublesome engine situation that yamaha has at the moment) and tyres.

looking forward to another battle for the lead between 99 and 93, hopefully also 46 and 26 also in the mix.

Dovi on a 2012 Tech3 Yamaha had scored 218 points! With 6 races to go, Rossi himself on a factory M1 has a narrow chance of beating that this year.

With Cal supposed to be at the peak of his career 'll not surpass that mark - doesn't matter which one of the fuel tanks he's running on.

Seamless is a good addition to the Yamaha package, guess it will suit Lorenzo more, bike'd be more stable while carrying that corner speed.
Dunno how much it'd help Rossi, as he's having problems during the first part of the race..
                          .
Watching FP1, Marquez is .6s faster than second placed Lorenzo.

                          Oh, now dani's 2nd, but .3s off....

What is up with the Tech 3 boys? They are behind 3 Ducatis and Aleix Espagaro. Rossi is within a tenth of Lorenzo on his home circuit but the Yamahas, in general, seem to be struggling this weekend.

Just for the sake of amusement, I really want to see what Marc Marquez will be capable of, if we put him on a Ducati.

Rossi just 0.076 seconds behind Lorenzo. Hope Rossi gets something from this track.
