          I just saw the video from where this shot was taken and what had happened was that Rossi deliberately ran wide to allow Marc to come up front as he was coming close to follow him. In the same session Rossi was following Marc and Marc ran wide to avoid being followed. Rossi just returned the favor by slowing down and letting the kid pass.
          No wonder Marc is going so fast.

            while i know that even in their days of intense rivalry lorenzo always appreciated rossi (as a racer) as one of the greats (although rossi was too agitated to see his junior team mate so competitive and beating or nearly beating him every now and then), i too was a bit surprised how lorenzo said he'd rather hold rossi as his favorite among the greats just because he has had the honour of racing with and against him even though he was asked to pick a favorite among agostini and hailwood...rossi must have felt not only glad to hear the recognition, but maybe also a bit of guilt or something that this was coming from the same guy (who was also a very junior team mate) whom he put a wall against and all that.

            or is that a mind game ?

              Was he is the same rider who said, "for me, Valentino is nothing." a few years ago? May be, he realised that winning championships back to back and also, so many isn't possible after all.

                  But I for one am not liking the friendly atmosphere. Missing the excitement and thrill of brutal competition between riders. Be it Rossi-Lor or Rossi-Stoner...

                      Humor me here, but, Maybe he can ten points this way from the Championship leader . Just saying, God knows what all goes on...
                      I think Sete-Rossi, Biaggi-Rossi, Loris-Rossi, all had their tiff on the track. But were pretty chilled off ,off the track, exception being Biaggi. But Rossi always extended his hand out after the race.(maybe for the cameras, but he did)

                          Lorenzo is keeping both his eyes on MM but, he needs to take notice of an old man slowly catching up. He is fast now.

                            This is unreal. This guy's a rookie for crying out loud!!

                            Let alone Lorenzo, he can blame his bike for not being more competitive. Pedrosa has nowhere to hide.
