Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates
Not surprisingly, two of the strongest riders on the brakes topped the quali at Motegi, just as they did in 2010; then Dovi was on the HRC Honda and won pole beating Rossi by 0.054 seconds, this time he won by 0.055; almost the same! Pedrosa has made great progress in braking in recent years, and it shows not only in the stoppie feats he demonstrated in practice, but more importatly in this front row.
Lorenzo and Marquez are not far on the grid and both will try to win this race tomorrow. It could really be good close racing.

Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates
Well, MM winning this title can't be news.
He played it safe, didn't take risks in quali, didn't take risks at the start, controlled Vale and Dani, ignored Jorge who grabbed the win.
He did what he had to do to make sure he won the title on Honda's turf.
Even the mini-duel with Rossi looked more like a ritual.
Could he have won this race? I think so. It showed he was keeping a good margin in his pocket, we show just a flash of his real potential when he passed Rossi and went on his way.
Rossi qualified well and had a great start, and this is what produced his podium. Had he qualified in second or third row this time, the podium would have been Pedrosa's.
His pace was a little slower than Lorenzo's though, who imposed a frantic race pace, aways at the limit of the track record. The unrelenting speed proved to be too much for the Ducatis, that were hoping for a better result than usual thanks to their extra fuel on a track that poses serious fuel consumption problems (I also thought that would be an advantage fro them here); but Honda and Yamaha didn't have to cut power to complete the race, so tehre was no match (Marquez' bike had to be quickly topped up to run the celebration lap though!).
Bravo Marquez, bravo Lorenzo, not bad Vale, usual Pedrosa. Also Crutchlow went back to his normal ways.
Last races will be fun, MM93 without pressure and the other three battling for 2nd place.::J4RN0::

Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates
wasn't a very likely outcome, according to what he said (and according to how lorenzo controlled the pace) himself...he was asked in one of the post race interviews whether he tried to or thought of trying to catch up with lorenzo...he said he gave it a go for a couple of laps (as we saw too when briefly his gap to lorenzo had come down by 2-3 tenths) once he'd had dispatched rossi off but he felt he needed to push really very hard because lorenzo's pace was relentless and also lorenzo had quickly responded by upping his pace once he realised marc was probably planning to catch him and the gap started increasing a bit by bit again, so he said he felt it was too much risk for something that wasn't likely anyway and thus eventually gave up trying in favour of not crashing and making a hat-trick of mistakes. :-)Originally posted by J4rn0 View PostCould he have won this race? I beg to differ. Had Rossi started from 2nd or 3rd row, it would most probably be Dani on the podium. Dovizioso was still close to 15 secs behind Dani.

You are welcome to differ, but do you really? I said "Rossi qualified well and had a great start, and this is what produced his podium. Had he qualified in second or third row this time, the podium would have been Pedrosa's."

Yes, and that's it. He said he would have had to push very hard, -- he didn't say that it would have been impossible. This time MM93 didn't want to push very hard, that's all. Had he pushed hard in quali and got a first row start, pushed hard at the start, pushed hard during the entire race, I think he could have stayed with Lorenzo and in the end he could have won. During WUP Marquez showed a pace faster than Lorenzo's and everybody else's, btw.Originally posted by aditya_YZF-R15 View Postwasn't a very likely outcome, according to what he said (and according to how lorenzo controlled the pace) himself...he was asked in one of the post race interviews whether he tried to or thought of trying to catch up with lorenzo...he said he gave it a go for a couple of laps (as we saw too when briefly his gap to lorenzo had come down by 2-3 tenths) once he'd had dispatched rossi off but he felt he needed to push really very hard because lorenzo's pace was relentless and also lorenzo had quickly responded by upping his pace once he realised marc was probably planning to catch him and the gap started increasing a bit by bit again, so he said he felt it was too much risk for something that wasn't likely anyway and thus eventually gave up trying in favour of not crashing and making a hat-trick of mistakes. :-)::J4RN0::

Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates
hahahaha...my bad mate. I think my mind was reading Pedrosa as Dovisioso. Somehow I feel Marc didnt try to push too hard in Japan. 2015 will be an interesting season with likes of Redding, Miller, Vinales in comparatively faster bikes in MotoGP.
Hopefully Rossi, Lorenzo, Dani & Marc wont be the only 4 riders to watch out for in the title match.
Wonder why doesnt Yamaha scout for talents as Honda does. May be they can make a lucrative offer or poach talent from Honda when time comes.
My observation, Pol Esparago is showing improvement, however, he is still quite some distance away from the top 4 at the moment. Hopefully he too improves by leaps and bounds next season.

Honestly, Miller has been promoted too soon to MotoGP, it may end ruining his career. Would have been better if he could bump to Moto2 instead first.
Also, Alex Marquez with Rabat would be a very interesting watch. Personally I wish Kalio came back to MotoGP!! Also Melandri will be a treat to watch again in MotoGP next season!!
As far as the Motegi race, Lorenzo will always try to push hard in the first 5 laps since he knows the Hondas are pretty fast and this was a Honda Track!! Vale is strong in the next 2 tracks, let's see what the outcome is for the 2nd position!!

I saw this quote on twitter. Still not quite sure what he meant, considering English is his first language!!!Originally posted by Makky View PostWoa!!
Jack Miller: "Marquez family like to think they're the bosses. Try to make you their lower companion - we're trying to do the same."
He is also trying to make someone his 'lower' companion?Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Companion in this context is a colleague/fellow racer. He thinks that they look down on others. Well, it's a tricky thing. Miller, acc. to many has always felt that the rest of paddock is indiff. to him - just like the way Stoner felt. May be, that's true - when most boys are Spaniards and from other European countries.Originally posted by The Monk View PostI saw this quote on twitter. Or may be, it's about owning the races and the race tracks! Who knows!
HRC and Repsol are backing Marq brothers and HRC is supporting Miller. Statement like this won't do much good. Nakamoto won't be happy about it.
Jack has started some mind game. Let's see how it goes.
BTW, ask Alex Rins or Tito Rabat about it. I think, they will agree with Miller. Hmmm... Pedrosa too!

If Miller goes the Stoner way then i can't wait for it, we will have all the Marquez fans calling Miller namesOriginally posted by Makky View PostCompanion in this context is a colleague/fellow racer. One of the reasons why Vinales seems to stay away from this bunch. Or may be, it's my notion.
But before Miller can say anything about A. Marquez he better recover points from him in the championship. Or was it just that they are now heading to Australia to race, so it is a bollywood movie 'dhamki, ab tu mere ellakke mein hai'!!!
Hope this guy wins the Moto3 championship and lands on his feet in MotoGP.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
