But he is 25 points behind Alex Marquez with 3 races to go. Looking tough unless Alex makes some blunders.

Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates
Regarding the astroturf, Rossi, Marc and Jorge were pretty annoyed with that and mentioned in the press conf before Motegi race too. Makes an issue with the way they enter the corners.
And yeah Miller is quite brash, Stoner on the other hand was brash coz he didnt enjoy the media attention at all. And Miller should be careful with what he says on Marquez clan, whole of HRC is behind Marc now, since he's the new "prodigy"!!!

Casey Stoner to test the Honda at Motegi on October 29-30th. The first day he will test the Bridgestones and the second day will be spent testing the new Michelins.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates
Marc Marquez takes Pole at Phillip Island, Crutchlow in 2nd and Lorenzo in 3rd.
Race is down under so timings are early morning. Moto3 starts at 730 AM and MotoGP at 1030 AM..
Race pace shows that the battle would probably be down to Lorenzo and Marquez. Lorenzo is now hell bent on finishing 2nd in the championship, and the 2014 champion says he is free now and feels no pressure. Hope it will be a cracker of a race

Good to see an all Yamaha rostrum. An emotional Bradley, a dejected Lorenzo and an ever ecstatic Rossi. What a heart-break for poor Cal to crash out just corners before the second position finish. He would be shattered. Something to do with the asymmetric tires which costed Marquez and Pol too. Dani, can't say bad luck as he was not heading anywhere!Contribute to the environment.

One must know the extent to which he can push...
There is a fine line between...almost impossible to do and impossible.
Rossi know this ...marc still has a lot more learning to do, and now it is proved on more than one ocassion.

Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates
I would disagree mate. There was nothing wrong with Marc IMO. All wrong with the asymmetric front tire. Similar crashes for Cal and Pol in the race and Lor during the FP. All of them had no clue what went wrong. Improper selection of front tire? Probably.
That's the reason why Lor went back to the symmetric tires after the FP crash and on hearing abt the crash Rossi didn't try it. Lorenzo chose the super soft for the race though which made him suffer while Rossi was on soft compound front.Last edited by nirvaana; 10-19-2014, 01:58 PM.Contribute to the environment.

Wrong. Both were running the same extra soft tyres, image below from the raceOriginally posted by nirvaana View PostLorenzo chose the super soft for the race though which made him suffer while Rossi was on soft compound front.
. Jorge had problems with his front tyre looks like a bad one, but today Rossi definitely had good pace, it would have been interesting to see if Rossi had started from the front row, we would have had a good fight between Marc, Jorge and Rossi. It is good for the sport. I love the respect among the Motogp riders, which the F1 guys can learn.

Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates
A wonderful race today. Also, got new things to learn. Tyre not upto temperature can cause disaster. Rapid drop in the temperature was the reason for lot of them crashing on asymmetric tyres. The harder side could not warm up enough.
In all this I feel super happy about Rossi. You got to give it to him. At 35 he is able to change his riding style to compete with much younger guys. The never say die spirit even when most of the followers feel you are off your prime, is just inspirational stuff.
He surely has lot in him and it would be a loss for the sport if he does not get chance to fight till the end.
However, at the same time I feel sad for Esparago brothers, more for Alexis and Cal Crutchlow.
Poor guy rode his heart out on "Origibal" Ducati. Happy that he got his mojo back, and I hope he fights similarly next year on a factory Honda.
Good times I would say with resurgent Rossi, Cal, Lorenzo and younger brigade of Smith, Esparago brothers, Vinales, Redding.
Always the next season looks amazing before it starts. That is what I like most about MotoGP. And finally, yes, my wife wasnt there today as well. She was with me last to last weekend when Rossi crashed. Time Rossi pays me to keep my wife away

Prince, the analysis is not as simple as that. Many riders crashed. If you heard the commentary, you would know how quick the temperature dropped. The air became chilli. The asymmetric tyres could not warm up and caused issues while braking. In such situation riding slow would only aggravate the situation and only option is to push to bring them upto the the temperature.Originally posted by princesirohi View PostOne must know the extent to which he can push...

Rossi & Lorenzo were on extra soft, and hence did not have tyre warm up issue. But Lorenzo had different kind of trouble with his tyres. The fact that Bridgestone and other riders were using these asymmetric tyres for the first time could also be the reason for so many crashes.
While there is always scope for learning, Marc is 2 times world champion. Come on man he is anything but inexperienced. He has the luxury of trying out new things, and not necessary that it should give the desired results. Anybody in his place would do the same. Try different riding styles, try different settings, in short prepare for the next season. Next season he would remember this experience with asymmetric tyres, and would have data to use it to his benefit.Last edited by chinmayakar; 10-19-2014, 08:34 PM.
