  • @leon_nerd: WHen it comes to winning a race only by sheer riding talent, there's no better fair and square battle than a duel involving close and risky passes! And this is how we want racing to be, close battles, don't we want that? Lack of which many of us have been whining about! What happened yesterday was far from being a close battle, it was mostly about who changes his bike when!!! Rossi made an incorrect decision and he paid for it, simple. A duel can tell us which racer is mentally tough under pressure when their machines are performing equally well! There's no luck factor in there, 'cause when your machines are performing equally well, then it all comes down to your riding talent and mental toughness.

Leguna Seca last year is a perfect example of beating your opponent fair and square when Stonner cracked under pressure from Rossi. Now that was racing! Racing is as much about mind battles between two racers as it is about riding talent. That's what makes it fun.

Anyways, let's pray to rain Gods that they take a holiday during the Mogello race!

    • Okay so first it was :
      Rossi vs Max Biaggi
      Rossi vs Sete Gibbernau
      Rossi vs Marco Melandri

      and now
      Rossi vs Stoner
      Rossi vs Lorenzo !!!

We at least know how the first 3 ended !! Also Lorenzo is a formidable opponent and that will make the racing more exciting. Otherwise its just 16 incredibly fast men travelling round and round 2-3 secs apart !! And none of us want that right !!
(*Notice I mentioned only 16 and not 18 racers, coz I assumed that the de boys : Alex de Angelis and Randy de Punie wud crash !! )

The season has just started. And frankly Lorenzo hasn't like duelled ... duelled, with Rossi yet. The season isnt over till the fat lady sings !! I just hope she sings in Italian !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

ROTFLMAO. That was a good one Sukant The most hilarious thing I heard today. I'm sure Randy de Puniet has the record number of DNF against his name

            • Was away for a few days hence could not respond to the Pedrosa vs Lorenzo vs Rossi stuff.

Well for starters I am a Pedrosa fan. I agree that Pedrosa has not had any close, fairing bashing exchanges with Rossi or for that matter anyone else. I am not sure if you have noticed that whenever Pedrosa has been overtaken Rossi finishes a country mile ahead.

So whats the point in making the pass overtly difficult when Rossi is so much faster? If Pedrosa has a bike that is as strong as Rossi I'm sure passing him would be that much more difficult.

                (courtesy Motogpnews forum)

Was Le Mans your most difficult race? The new attempt will begin in MugelloCould this be the hardest and most equal championship of all those disputed in the premier class? After Jerez you said Stoner was your most dangerous rival. Still think so?
Also at Le Mans I was very strong last year and not now, so the immediate future is unknown, however much Mugello and Barcelona are my favorite tracks. Even so, I'm glad to be going there now.

Do you remember ever finishing last?Does the control tire create big problems with setup?Does it bother you more having fallen or that Lorenzo won?

                    • ^^ thanks !!

And in another news, looks like the Rossi , Ferrari ghost is rearing its head again !!
It seems Ferrari is in talks with Rossi to join them in case Ferrari and about 6 other teams leave F1 and form another breakaway championship. Rossi is one of the biggest name in Motorsports and him joining this new championship will defnitely be a boost to them.

There is nothing concrete and official about it right now, tho !!

P.S: But I think it is true. Rossi has decided to switch ot F1. In fact he is already preparing for it. Thats why he had the 4 pit stop strategy in the Le Mans MotoGP race !!

And in case, Rossi does shift to F1(Or whatever its gonna be labelled), it'll force me to renew my interest in the four-wheeled equivalent of MotoGp
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

                        • I'll quite watching MotoGP or any other Motoracing (except WSBK) if Rossi switch to 4 wheels.

Believe me, wHen people love a certain sport because of the man involved in it....then for them, he's bigger than the sport They follow him wherever he goes! For die hard Rossi fans, he's bigger than MotoGP No logic here, its all about the feelings!!

Anyways, can't wait for him to hit back in the championship
