Feeling sorry for Rossi though, gr8 he atleast managed to save the 3rd spot, another bad race for him. Can't wait to see him come back in the next race.

250cc was damn exciting.. 1st it was Bautista-Simocelli battle and then the Simoncelli-Passini till the end. Great race there by top 3 in 250ccs..

I have this feeling that Rossi's second bike was just not setup as good as his first bike. And Stoner had his dry bike setup spot on. Because before the bike change, he was dropping off steadily !Originally posted by MotorBreath! But good on Stoner and Ducati to win.
Lorenzo crashed at the sighting lap !! Shows how mercurical he is !!
Once again it just feels like Pedrosa is just not physically strong enuff to muscle these 800cc from one side to another. Plus he got tendon fracture/hip dislocation just by a tank slapper. That doesn't bode well at all.Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!

Infact, Rossi was gaining steadily on Stoner and all others before the change. His first bike was much better set up. It was sad to see him trail and not be able to make up ground on Stoner and Lorenzo.
Feel sad for Capirossi too. He was riding like a man possessed. Would have
been good to see him on the podium. Guess the GSVR is not upto the others. When Stoner passed him on the straight first he almost looked slow.
And oh yeah, is it just me or are the paddock girls in Italy hotter than everywhere else?

I don't think there was any problem with Rossi's second bike. He was just being too cautious after his fall at the last race. His initial lead on the wet tyres was becoz he knew what he can do with the wet tyres. When he changed the bike he didn't wanted to repeat his mistake. So he kept behind Lorezo, safely. At the end we saw Rossi was back in his form. Of course it is not easy to cross Lorenzo and Stoner with a gap in the final couple of laps. He probably wanted to finish off the race with valuable points rather than trying to be over ambitious after the bike change.
The Ducati looked like a rocket. When Dov passed Caparossi from right, Stoner passed from left and he kind smoked both of them up. The 250 was great too. The last lap Passini showed that experience does matter. He know exactly what line to choose at what corner.
This wet-dry races are really awesome
. The Pit stop strategy like F1 makes it more interesting.
Enna Rascalla. Mind it !!!

I guess the God also knew that mixed weather was the only chance for others to win at Mogello, so he let weather play its part
hehe
On a serious note, once the motorcycles were changed with slick tyres, it was only left to see whose tyres find the grip first!!! No rider likes this mixed weather scenario, they would always prefer the weather to remain same at the start of a race whether its dry or wet, so that they would know what they have to do!!!
They have had enough of this rain and mixed weather conditions, I just hope that now everyrace to come has bright sunshine! The Chronicles of Motorcycling - The Man, The Machine and The Road

Just in ! It seems Yamaha sent Rossi out on hard front/rear. And Stoner was on Medium all round, with Lorenzo med front and hard rear. This is why Stoner was up to temperature very quickly !!
Crap ! What is wrong with the team!! They are getting things wrong consistently now a days !! With 13 odd laps to go, y did they need the hard tyre!!Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!

Right after the tyre change,
Stoner's outlap was 2.06.7 ,
Rossi a 2.13.4,
Lorenzo a 2.10.5.
Clearly meduim/soft was the way to go.
Yesterday, Rossi lost Mugello and Rafael Nadal got knocked out of French open !! I guess strange things do happen !!
But this thread is more and more looking like a Rossi fiefdom.
Where are the Pedrosa/Stoner fans !! C'mon guys. lets have a healthy discussion !!
Wait lemme take out my dagger !!

Nadal looked good through the tournament. But at the same time, he looked outta sorts, like he is not his usual motivated self. Anyways... this will go way OT if I continue. I was quite shocked by Nadal's game y'day! The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

but something tells me one thing hurt FAR worse than losing to Stoner at Mugello... number 99 coming in second
JLo rode a good race too. Rossi has never had such a tenacious teamate.
The 250's were wicked. Racing all the way to the flag. I for one dont think Simoncelli deserved to be fined. Seemed like a racing incident.
Psssssst: Anyone heard the rumor? JLo might be shooting himself in the leg & may make a move to Honda next year.Last edited by dominic; 06-01-2009, 10:26 AM.** ting ting ta ting **

@dom : It looked to be as if simoncelli wanted to push Bautista out of the track after the impact....
Too bad pedrosa could not make a mark here.... But i was very much interested with Melandri's riding.... Poor guy could not change to the slicks style of riding soon.... Although brilliant riding by him.... He took Rossi once....- WonderBoy
