    About KTM 125 Duke
For young motorcycle enthusiasts the year 2011 can be something very special: With the 125 Duke, the exciting sports equipment for their worldwide famous brand presents for the first time an approved off-road single cylinder bike. The motto of the available spring 2011 world premiere is clear: pure-bred driving pleasure, thanks to full-fledged motorcycle technology and an affordable price! Or: first fast love. For many, the year the Austrian manufacturer KTM great importance, even the youngest of the motorcycle fans the right to offer sports equipment. In the off-road world has fought for KTM, not least through the intensive efforts in the area of junior racing, the role of "Number 1". In addition to the popular and high-quality Mini Cycles, motocross and enduro models have been launched around the world several motor sports initiatives for the young generation. As the racing sport itself, so young people is also the passing of two-wheeled passion to children and in the genes of the company KTM.

    DOWN ON THE STREET

appeared since the Super Duke in 2004 pure-bred the first asphalt-athletes from KTM is added, the brand continues to develop on solid ground further and made sure that the three letters are from Upper Austria to all athletic motivated riding a fixed term. It was therefore a logical step for the development of a road machine for novice to tackle. KTM is like no other manufacturer of pure driving pleasure generated by concepts, in principle, the driving dynamics of every motorcycle in the foreground to provide ease by omitting not all necessarily necessary parts, precision of modern designs and high-class components, and strong performance thanks to spurt unmatched lightweight sports engines, thanks to striking looks and distinctive design distinctive design language. Precisely the skills and qualities were the starting point for the 125 Duke. And so was the KTM Development Center under the direction of the same engineers that have to be related to "Duke" and "Super Duke" already outstanding athlete on the asphalt, the future 125-bar.

    MOTOR

To meet the high demands in terms of performance, refinement and reliability in Mattighofen a completely new engine was developed. Also a model of emissions and consumption patterns had a high priority in the design of the heart of the 125 Duke. The result is an extremely efficient four-stroke single-cylinder, which with four-valve cylinder head, twin overhead camshafts, water cooling, a balance shaft and electronic Bosch Benzineinpritzung the perfect base for the new 125 KTM is. The most European countries by law regulated peak power of 11 kW (15 hp) in the modern drive without effort. about changes to the engine electronics can optionally limit the maximum speed to 80 mph. The characteristics of the single cylinder engine has been determined that the driving experience and the fun is not neglected. Spontaneous response and strong revving for intermediate sprints are particular strengths of the Duke engine. Constructive freedoms of the Duke developers also used to achieve a minimum vibration volume. For worry-free use of all components were designed for full durability and serviceability. The bottom line is a real sport KTM motor that provides precise with 124.7 cubic inches for a perfect degree of dynamism.

    SUSPENSION

Also in section "chassis" may be future driver 125cc Duke forward to full competence. Handling comes from ease and lightness brings security. Around these principles enshrined in the KTM DNA an exemplary chassis has been designed that also received no compromise in stability. With borderless full 11-liter tank brings the 125 Duke only 125 kilograms. On this equipment was not saved - but each component was in the best KTM tradition strictly enforced on a diet. Backbone of the athlete is a very lightweight, thanks to the construction of thin-walled tubes grid of high-strength steel frame. Solid spring elements of specialist WP suspension, a jointly developed with Brembo brakes, lightweight multi-spoke wheels and a fully equipped multi-function cockpit make even the smallest Duke to a full-fledged KTM. Immediately felt the vast expertise of the Duke-makers on the subject of "ergonomics" is. Best usability and a perfectly integrated driver's position with large contact areas provide for optimal control and perfect feedback.

    DESIGN AND INNOVATION

Form and function. No other motorcycle manufacturer integrating the design in a similar way in the development process of a motorcycle as KTM. The Duke 125 is no exception when it comes to bringing technology solutions to provide a meaningful and attractive in line. From the first line on the drawing board to the reconciliation in the beginning in spring 2011 serial production was and is the 125 Duke hand in hand with the Salzburg designers around Gerald Kiska - who had already designed the first KTM Duke in 1994 - designed and implemented . Prime example of the seamless alliance between technicians and designers, the unique exhaust system running. The innovative main silencer contains a catalytic converter, ensures its position behind the motor housing for a perfect use of space while supporting the centralization of the masses. As an entirely separate product available from spring 2011, the new KTM-typical shapes and the art of leaving things on display. A key component of the concept are also be several power parts, special parts developed from KTM, the future Duke drivers plenty of room for customization. Either way - the 125 Duke fascinating from every perspective - in the test walk around the machine inspired design and workmanship - on the handlebars inspire dynamics and driving feel.
    Imposing a KTM.

It is not a India specific model. The bike is made keeping the European taste in mind.

and with a DOHC oil cooled engine, 150 section rear tyre, rear monoshock, front and rear amazing discs; and the added addons to customize; i think expecting anything less than 1.0L will just raise concerns over the quality of the bike. If its going to be made in India (which it is) Bajaj will be relying on Indian auto parts suppliers. i Have been to Bajaj factory and even their engineers are pissed with their suppliers' poor quality of work. The quality standards within Bajaj are exceptionally well though.

If its CKD, its already 1.3-1.4 or maybe 1.5 i suppose

pl add inverted front shockups to the list of goodies

and ooh god, look at the curves. Man this is just an amazing deal if it comes in the same skin to India even at 1.2L

agreed!, 1L is just impossible for all this. Really.

But i believe this will come to India, as it is not for people like us; its more specifically for stunts, streets, and for a premium segment. i believe it will attract at 1.5L also

I worked in Nestle till some time back; Bajaj and Nestle both have factories in Pantnagar. And had a Linked in friend working over there. He arranged a trip inside.

The funny thing which i noticed was they had speakers all around the assembly lines, which were playing bollywood songs (saat samandar paar.. :P) all the time.

                            Exactly my thoughts

                            125CC & 1.5 Lakhs will be my question; I can settle for a comfortable C5 or a 3.2 Kwacker.
