  • That's why I specifically mentioned 70-80 kmph. Push the bike beyond that, and the fuel efficiency will drop.

And also engine switch off when going down in the slope... Just kidding .

Ninja giving 39 is very optimistic. Just my feeling and never checked with any Ninja owner. My Gladiator used to give 42 .

The mileage in city conditions is more important as CBR250 is good for City riding too. How much does Ninja 250 give in city?

      • Naked looks hot!
IMO Honda should bring a naked version of it, albiet some 30-40k cheaper and RIP R15, Fazer, P220

          1. Just considering that P220 gives around the same mileage, CBR being heavier with more power, how is 37kmpl achievable on CBR?
          2. In CBR's reviews in both US and UK, the mileage is found to be consistent around 27kmpl. So, with a drop of 1BHP on the Indian version, how would the mileage jump skywards by "10"kmpl??

So, my concern is how correct is 37kmpl?
The CBR will return 37 in the same way a P220 returns 54(The ARAI rated figure). In other words, It can be done(I have achieved that with my P220), but nobody would want to do it for an extended period of time.(my bike currently returns 37-42 kmpl).
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

How did you know about the engine switch off thing! That's my favorite trick

I mentioned all these conditions because that is how companies give out all the fancy fuel efficiency numbers under "standard test conditions".

I get around 25 kmpl in the city. But I got a constant 37 kmpl while running in on the highway.

you both are good at ur knowledge ..some times misunderstanding happens .. i happy that u both understood each other and moved on .. , .. now if the Ninja gives milage of 30kmpl .. then its not necessary that CBR too should give equal to that or more than that .. is it ??

ya there is a technical answer to this.. but a simple eg: if u have 1liter bottle or in two separate half litter bottles.. it takes one liter of liquid to fill the 1 liter bottle or 2 half liter bottle. the same way the 250cc needs 250cc of air to fill the volume and fuel to go with it.

                  • I seriously didnt understand a joint :O Damn you kinda make me to remember my Economics teacher No offense, Just hitting on ya!

Few post back I noted you talking about the fuel thinge for CBR, That 91 something and there were much more discussions after that! Some people even claimed that Shell Bunk is the only go! Well I took that option but sadly Shell in Chennai is too limited and just to get myself fueled I think I gotta travel 15 KMS to and fro, What are these HP speed etc etc thinge's and will they be suitable for CBR ?

Regarding the Mileage part! Finally I saw a huge grin on my dad's face lol!

Currently we are not sure which fuel it requires, mostly will be regular 91 Octane petrol. Speed is also only 91 octane and not recommended at all!

Yeah!!! A naked or a supermotard version of this bike will be a vey nice looking motorcycle.Honda says this bike is the first of the platform & siblings will follow eventually. So who knows, they might come up with a naked version, like what Yamaha had done with Fazer. But in that case, its the other way around.
